Adrius stood there in amusement watching Illyan scream and cry. And begging to be killed. He only had her for a month now and she already was going insane. He was really proud of himself, it was not easy to drive someone to insanity by just psychological torture.

He has to admit the skinsuit idea was a very good idea, he didn’t actually think it would work because when he flayed Mark the skin was very divided. But he worked on it, he did everything he could and he made a skinsuit.

It was disgusting when he wore it. The feeling of the skin on your skin is very very unappealing, but it was a small price to pay to see Illyan Trant like this.

He hasn’t touched her one bit, he didn’t torture her or did anything to her, that was because she was from a big family. The Trant family is not stronger than the raven academy. The raven academy is very powerful, it has a rank 2 magus. The Trant family doesn’t have a rank 2 magus but they have three official magus and it is a pretty powerful force. So he doesn’t want to make enemies with them.

He knows that he would never have a good relationship with them, because of Illyan. But if he succeeded in hiding her existence then there is a chance of a relationship.

The Trant family Is a merchant family so they have a lot of money and influence over a lot of countries and a lot of academies. Weaker academies to be specific. But if he orchestrated a charade and it came out like he was the hero who saved Illyan from a rogue dark Magus then he could probably gain their affection and support. Because Illyan is the heir to the family and him “saving” her will probably gain him a lot of influence and benefits maybe they could help him in taking over the Firebird city, even though form the reports he had in the last month he knew that it was it is only a matter of time before he takes over the city. Blood raven have been going all at it with the support of the city heir Brad Saloman.

When he heard of the deal with Brad Saloman, he was happy. Because with this deal he could take over the city and kill The Saloman family easily. So he sent a message instructing the Blood Lords to demand that they should have a place in the palace for Brad’s protection. With this move he can give the order and the whole family will be slaughtered and the only survivor is sweet Veronica.

He also had a plan to further his influence on her, he planned that on the day that the family was to be killed he would be in the city and then he would instruct one of the blood lords to chase Veronica and then try to kill her. And in the last moments he interferes and saves her, making him a hero in her eyes and making her crush on him more intense. Thus making him more influential so when the time comes he can easily manipulate her to do whatever he wants, or he can just marry her and become the new lord of the city.

But the later option is not on the table because even if he married her he will be Lord just in name, she will be the lady of the city so she will continue to rule and he will be just a Lord in the name, because the law says that any child of the passing Lord whether it is a female or male will rule after the Lord is dead. So if he marries her he will just be a lord in name and that did bring him some political power but it doesn’t really bring a lot of power to him. But if he controls her in the shadows he can maybe arrange a marriage between her and somebody that is more influential or has a political power and maybe even strengthen himself by doing so. Like if he can marry her to an heir to a bigger city then he could have cities practically under him. As long as the person is mortal he could control them.

Stopping his train of thoughts he looked at Illyan, when she lost consciousness he used the opportunity to use the new spell he bought. It is called Mind invasion, like the name suggests with this spell you can invade a person's mind and show them whatever you want to show them. But the only downside to it is that the person Has to be unconscious or too weak to hold you off. But if a person is a mortal then you can do it without even making them unconscious or too weak to fight because a mortal's brain is very much weaker than a magus. Even though Illyan’s cultivation is sealed she still has the same powers she had when she had her cultivation. The only difference is that she can’t use magic now until he unseals her cultivation.

He bought this spell shortly after he advanced to rank 3 magus apprentice. It happened 2 weeks ago when he was doing his daily meditation and suddenly he just knew it was time to break through. So he did it and now he is one step closer to becoming an official magus.

There aren't a lot of changes actually when he broke through, his body got stronger, he now can create anything with his magic like he can he can press the magic into a fireball or make the magic into a whip. And that was all he could remember. It wasn't a lot of change but he felt stronger. His magic got stronger, right now he can kill a rank one magus apprentice with ease. He thinks that he can kill a mortal with a wave of his hand.

But the best news was that his age now extended to 150 years. It isn’t practically a secret that Adrius hates death and would do anything to escape from it. And by extending his age like that he felt really good and right now his determination to achieve immortality is higher than ever. If only 50 years of age made him this happy, how does an infinite amount of age make him feel?

Aside from Mind invasion he also bought two other spells. He bought Dark Fireball and Dark shield. Dark fireball is like its name suggests fireball but it is filled with a darkness element making the fire burn dark and burn longer than the normal fire. As for Dark shield, the spell creates a shield that defends the caster and the shield’s power depends on the caster’s power.

Right now Adrius has to make a plan so he could gain the affection of the Trant family and find a good cultivation technique so he could advance to the Magus realm.

His plan has to be perfect or he is risking death, and the only way for him to be safe is to get stronger. So the two problems he has are connected. But not connected in a good way, no. They are connected in the worst way possible.
