In a blink of an eye 3 months went by in peace.

In a room in Croft’s lab stood a figure with short black hair, white lab coat and a black mask with horns on it. It was Adrius, he was currently experimenting on a person on the lab table.

The person on the lab table was a girl that looked 16 year old, she had black hair and she was a very pretty girl. It was Mary, Adrius’s servant or in the real term slave. In the magus world slavery was very normal wither it’s other races or humans, if you have enough money you can even buy a magus apprentice as a slave.

Mary’s body was on the table unmoving, her eyes were closed and she looked like she was sleeping. But the most eye catching thing about her is the scales that were growing on parts of her body.

“Hmm, another fail, it seems that the changes I made to the blood weren’t enough.” Spoke Adrius to a crystal that was on a high table, it was a recording crystal. He put it in a high place so it can record the whole process.

“What did I do wrong? At my understanding the blood was compatible with her blood and the fusing shouldn’t have any side effect, but she grew scales”

Adrius has been experimenting in the past 3 months, his experiments were on fusing the blood of animals or something else into humans for them to gain something that humans didn’t have. He had such an idea when he was a rank 1 magus apprentice but he was too weak to do it. But now he is rank 2 and he has the power to do it. Also the experiment isn’t weird to him because in his past world, some scientists did such an experiment and it worked, they combined the DNA of a monkey and a human and made a humanoid hybrid that looked like a human but had the power of a monkey. A lot of people were upset about that, because it was breaking human rights. So they “stopped” doing it. That was what the normal people knew, but for Adrius was a very infamous toxicologist and his deals weren’t just with governments but with crime bosses in the underworld. And he knew that they were still making and selling hybrids in the blackmarket.

‘If I only knew the way they did the hybrids in my old world, but unfortunately it was so classified even some presidents didn’t know about it.’

He didn’t say the words out loud, because the crystal was recording. He can edit it but if he lost it or someone took it from him before he edits it then he is fucked royally. Because the magus will probably take him and make experiments on him until he dies. He stopped thinking about the subject and got back to what was important, his experiment.

Adrius was thinking so hard that he got a headache from thinking, then an idea came to him. “ Could this work?”

“Mary’s body is at the late stages of completing its growth, thus making it very hard for the new DNA to enter and change her DNA. But there is another way, Mary is 16, that means she is fertile. So if she gets pregnant and then I make changes in the baby's DNA and genes then it will be more effective”

Even though Adrius was a toxicologist, he was a scientist after all and has read about such things, and with magic he was sure that it would be more effective.

That in mind Adrius started to clear Mary of every scale she had on her body. They were like her skin but Adrius took them off with a calm face. When he was done he gave her a healing potion. She was sleeping so he had to make her drink the potion. The potion did an excellent job, it healed everything in a matter of seconds. The potion has shown Adrius growth as a potion master, he was still at the apprentice level but he was good.

Croft was at the Master level, it took him over 100 years to get there.

After Mary’s body was healed Adrius gave her another liquid, this time it was pink. After Mary drank that drink she opened her eyes and got up, she then looked around the lab confused, then she saw Adrius standing in front of the table.

Her face went pale and fear started to surge through her: “ M...Master I’m sorry, I was tired and slept on your table”

Adrius looked at her and said with a natural tone: “ It’s okay, now I want to tell you something. You will get pregnant”

Mary had a dumbfounded expression: “ Pregnant? But master, why would I get pregnant?”

Adrius moved closer to her and lifted her chin, she flinched from his touch. His hands were cold like a dead person, he then spoke with a cold and murderous tone: “ Do I need a reason to do what I want with my property?”

Mary was shivering when she answered: “ No master” She has lived these past 5 months in peace and forgot how cruel this demon is.

Adrius nodded and lifted her eyes to meet his, they were dark like the abyss. Mary thought that it was the most terrifying thing she ever saw in her life. Adrius then spoke with the same cold tone: “ I will tell you why this time, but if you question me again I will skin you alive, Understood? I don’t like my property question or talk back to me! I want you to get pregnant for an experiment, and don’t worry you will not have to take care of the baby because I will take it! You may go now”

Mary was shivering with fear, she was stopping herself from crying. She got down from the table and walked out of the lab.

Adrius sat in his chair thinking about what to do next. He then started thinking about Mary when she woke up and thought she slept there willingly and not him making her inhale a toxin that made her go into sleep. It was a trick Croft taught him, he would control his magic power into the brain and then go to the part that is responsible for the memories and then he can change them as he wants. The trick for now only worked on mortals, but when he gets stronger he can even change a magus’s memories.He also made his body colder when he touched her as a psychological trick to make her more afraid.

“ It is already time for me to get my first mission of the academy” Thought Adrius out loud, he had disabled the recording crystal a long time ago.

Every 3 months rank 2 students must do a mission for the academy, and the rewards depend on the mission. As for rank 3 they must take a mission every 6 months.

It has already been 3 months since Adrius became rank 2, so he must take a mission very soon or he will get punished. But first he has to finish the problem with Mary’s pregnancy, he has to find a father, a thought occurred to his mind. What if he made the father a beastkin and then added the DNA of the animal the father belongs to. It will make the baby stronger. He also had enough money to buy a beastkin.

Adrius’s chain of thoughts was cut by a knocking on the lab door. Adrius knew it wasn't Croft because Croft was outside doing gods know what. He walked to the entrance and opened the door. He was met with a girl that had short red hair, a milky skin and a pair of ice blue eyes. Adrius immediately recognized her, it was Eve she was with the order hall and she hated him. Eve opened her mouth and said:” New hair cut? I like it. Adrius Caseo you have been assigned a mission by the higher ups, your mission is to hunt and kill 3 rogue rank 1 magus apprentices!”
