Known to inhabit the deepest most poisonous pools

Everywhere they swim becomes a toxin to their prey

Hundreds of Mer-Orcs who summoned spells like any mage

Followed by a Titan Shark that thrashed about in rage

Fought an army while at thousand Venom Snappers swam

Releasing toxins that could quickly erode any clam

Hawk had to resist the urge to analyze it all

There were so many monsters there it caused her heart to stall

She made a mental note of every monster she could find

And promised herself she’d protect their image in her mind

She gingerly approached the scene of battle with a smile

She hadn’t been so intrigued by a war in quite a while

A veteran commander from a long forgotten race

Now surface dweller has ever laid eyes upon her face

A water nymph unlike the mermaids common to the west

Said to be the race that understands the sea the best

At the front of a small unit of a dozen knights

Swam a lady who was responsible for the lights

She fended of the spells of Mer-Orcs with spells of her own

Twisting water into blades that cut through Mer-Orc bone

The knights around her dealt with most of the lesser monsters

Though some struggled helplessly against Venom Snappers

Several other units fought nearby and looked hard pressed

The Titan Shark approaching made clearly made them all distressed

Hawk decided it would be best to earn the nymphs’ trust

“I’d rather study it, but killing the shark is a must”

With a disappointed look she cast a spell of air

And fired it at the beast, leaving a trail as thin as air

The humble looking spell caught no one’s attention at first

But when it pierced the Titan shark’s left fin, it loudly burst

It turned to face her angrily with wisdom in its eyes

Hawk didn’t look scared but she did feel some slight surprise

“I guess my Attack stat really does need some levelling

Though that mana increase sure did help with channeling”

She summoned several more spells like the last and fired again

The shark swam halfway to her, but at exploded by then

Achievement: Scholar’s Sacrifice

I feel your pain, I’d love for you to have studied the beast

Its remains will offer some insight to you at least

I’ll help you with your attack stats do give you more control

So next time you fight one, your spell makes a smaller hole

In the great confusion caused by the exploding shark

General Grey cast a spell that brightened up the dark

It seemed like the sun itself had risen suddenly

In moments, the Mer-Orcs were all floating lifelessly

Hawk tried clapping her hands but the sound was hard to hear

But the ancient magic she’d watched filled her up with cheer

She swam to Grey while swatting away some small fish monsters

Then, in annoyance, wiped out all the Venom snappers

“Nice to meet you, General, I am a human mage

Our kind haven’t spoken since a long forgotten age

As it happens, we’re having some problems of our own”

Hawk tried hard to speak with a reserved, respectful tone

The nymph called Grey look fearfully at Hawks blue status screen

“That’s the highest mana stat that I have ever seen…

Yes, we’ll welcome you at home, we thank you for today

The portal monsters have been worse than usual all day”
