The Great Demon System Chapter 222

Moby sat on his soft bunk bed with his eyes closed, a clear vein bulging out of his forehead as he tried his best to concentrate, his frustration only growing the more he tried.
For the past few hours, he had only 2 things on his mind, strengthening his household, and strengthening himself.
The main way he had in mind to do such a thing was to try and teach every one of them how to access their demon transformations. As Avilia explained, just like how he, as a sin demon had sin mode, so did his household, each one possessing their very own special transformation, although admittedly weaker than sin-mode which was considered near or even at the pinnacle of the netherworld.
Despite the fact that he now had a very in-depth control of his sin-mode, the fact that he did not actually learn it himself, as Avilia had simply transferred the knowledge of it into his brain, made him a rather bad teacher. He knew the feeling, the sensation, the trigger, most that there is to know but he could not properly explain,or teach how to access it, so he had to rely on Avilia for most of the explanations and teaching as of course, her knowledge was far more in-depth on such topics.
In a plane of reality that time was slowed, talking and explaining, even when using mind-link proved to be an even bigger task than he had first assumed. To be able to be properly heard and understood, he had to talk 14x faster than he usually talked just to sound at normal speed.
Although he had superhuman agility, for the first hour or two, he was not even able to speak coherent sentences, the words coming out of his mouth sounding more like gibberish than actual words. Talking so fast was something that neither he nor anyone else in the room even tried, and it really showed.
So, until he got used to speaking, he decided to write down his sentences and explanations in a text-to-speech app, and set the speed to 14x for the words to come out at perfect speed, everyone sitting in a circle around him to listen to his explanation, him trying to practice talking in 14x speed along the way.
Ray who had been previously unconscious from extreme stress and fatigue also woke up and join the rest in the circle, of course not before asking them for an explanation of why time was slowed and what they were doing in a circle, his movements much wonkier than the others due to his low power level, him not being 14x faster than a normal human for him to go at normal speed.

Using text to speech to once again communicate, he asked his questions and received his answers, nodding back at Moby in slow motion as he readjusted his gaze at him to focus on his explanations.
The Jayden clone who had also been there the entire time, sitting in the circle as they listened intently to Moby's words also struggled to even move, it being completely in slow motion like it was frozen in time as they were only slightly stronger than the average regular human in terms of strength.
While Moby was still in the process of teaching, there was a time when 2 military soldiers opened the door in order to check the students present in the room and to keep a headcount and ensure the safety of every last student.
They took note of everyone in the dorm, Moby, Jason, Nags, Alex, Jayden, and Ray, their gaze fixed on Jayden and Alex whom there recognized as very important, asking them a few questions before they left, it being extremely tense and stressful since they were both talking in extremely slow motion, so Moby had to push his senses to the limit in order to hear and interpret what they had said, his heart accelerating as he forced a look of natural calmness on his face.
Luckily, by this time, Moby had gotten used to talking at 14x, so he managed to almost perfectly respond to their questions, it only sounding slightly awkward in a few instances, which the 2 soldiers took no heed to and simply left the room after they had finished all that they had to say.
It was an extremely, painfully slow, stressful experience for everyone in the room, what was only 5 minutes in real time was actually 1 hour and 10 minutes for them instead. If they had simply stepped even 1 foot inside, they would have noticed that time was slowed, since, from their perspective, everything seemed to go at normal speed since they were not under the mana crystal's influence.
After Avilia, talking through Moby finally finished explaining everything to the entire household, he left them to do their own personal training just like he went to do his own, strengthening their ability and spirit, or trying to unlock their new demon transformations. They seemed to have understood everything that Avilia said and he had faith that they could all get a grasp of at least the basics, all but Jason who he doubted was even able to understand a single word of what Avilia had said.
Now, Moby went to his bed at the top bunk to meditate in seclusion. Since he had already unlocked his demon transformation, there was no need for him to bother with such things. Now, all he wanted to do was unlock his spirit mode, Moby really hoping that it would be some sort of powerful ice dragon that would crush everything in his path.

Just like before, like he was taught in class, he closed his eyes and deeply concentrated on his flow of mana, following it straight to his core as he stared deeply inside it with a calm mind. He wanted to enter a trial similar to the one he had done in class, since it served to greatly boost his power in the process.
For hours on end of complete silence, he sat in a single position with his eyes closed trying his best to strengthen himself and make things work. Yet, no matter how many times he tried, no matter the effort he put in, he was not able to replicate what he had done in class, a mental trial to boost his abilities did not start at all, causing his frustration to grow until he almost reached his breaking point of patience as it seemed like his training was leading him absolutely nowhere, his confusion also growing as he had no idea why it did not work now but worked perfectly earlier in the day.
Giving up on his futile attempts, he opened his eyes, looking down at the room in front of him with a deep sigh as he witnessed everyone else in the room deep into their training.
*sigh*
'Avilia, can you help me? I can't get this to work! Is there something wrong with my body?'
Taking a moment to think, Avilia immediately responded.
'I'm honestly not sure… I think everything seems the same as last time… Maybe it's because you had only just taken a mental trial earlier in the day? Maybe there is some sort of cool down until you can enter another trial?'
Avilia sounded like she had no idea what she was talking about, yet Moby knew that her words could have indeed had a very high chance of it being true.
Yet, at this point, they were both still completely clueless about abilities and their nature so they could not come to a solid conclusion as there might have fully well been another reason that they were both unaware of.
Moby had the urge to gowgle his question online, but after noticing how frustrating the connection was 14x slower, he immediately gave up and disregarded the idea as a waste of time, since he doubted that he would even find the answer online.
So, for the next few hours, he decided to train his eyes of sin and his freezing time skill, using them over and over again until they levelled up, which was his favourite method of training, one that he could do anywhere with no hindrance. The only downside now was that it was no more efficient than if he had simply done it at normal speed, but until he could figure out why he was not able to enter his trial, it was the most efficient way to spend his time.
However, even before he got a single cycle in, him still being in the middle of his nature's stimulation to regain his mana and demon energy, he heard a rather loud whooshing sound enter the room, Moby, whose mind was still in complete focus and concentration, totally ignored and dismissed as simply wind from the open window as he calmed his mind once again and focused on his skill, even the slightest interruption would have been enough to make him fail and start all over again, this time having to wait 14x as long as usual which was well over an hour.
Then as soon as he was about to finish, only a split second to go, he heard a small whisper and a nudge on his shoulder, completely breaking his concentration, the vain on his forehead almost popping out of his head as he simply wanted to let out his frustration at who dared interrupt him in the middle of his hours of meditation, making his past few hours of training go to waste.
However, as soon as he opened his eyes, his mouth instinctively open as well, he was not able to let out even a single word as he noticed exactly who it was, his expression taking a complete 180-degree turn as his anger turned into calmness and his expression turned into that of a mixture between relief and warmth as he could not help but let out a bright smile at who was now sitting on the bunk bed to his side.
'Jayden?'

Legend of the Seven
Humans were cast out of Eden for committing the original sin. Now Seven will answer, should Humanity live forever? But first, join Team Six in their rescue mission turned daring prison break from death. Author's Corner: Welcome to the Legend of the Seven series #LOTSseries, my Guardians. This is my first novel turned webnovel. I'm returning to this fictional world after a 6-year hiatus with a lot of personal growth and insight. Insights gained from being a lifetime reader.I was the kid who read Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. I was the new adult who read I Shall Seal the Heavens and Ark. I've lost count of how many fictional worlds I've visited and lived through for I grew up on western novels but discovered eastern novels in my college years. This is my attempt to marry those two literary styles. It's my hope that this journey becomes more than just a book. If you're reading this simply expecting an ego power trip then turn back. There'll be action but with a lot of metaphysics and discussion on life with its accompanying issues. I strive to ground and make this webnovel relatable with verisimilitude. This webnovel is about choice. Freewill and its consequences. I give my characters autonomy to do and be themselves which sometimes leads to me rewriting and replotting because of pleasant surprises from my characters. Even the character who dies within the chapter they are introduced can have a massive impact with several ripples. So, there'll be stories on love and loss, hope and despair, but most importantly, it'll be a story. Release schedule: M, W, F - I aim for afternoon (1pm to 6pm) MST. Being Frank
**Author's Note** This was my 7th attempt at writing this story. I've worked on the story since 20 years ago but my writing style and skills haven't been satisfactory to me. So after working as a digital content manager for 2 years and after a very long deliberation I've decided to drop this 7th attempt and start on my 8th attempt. This 8th attempt will be the same story but starting from a different point in the timeline of my story. Thank you for your support on this 7th try, it is only due to your reviews and comments that I have the confidence to work hard on my 8th attempt. I started on my 8th attempt with the intention that my 8th attempt will be the final one as I'm a lot more confident and content with my where my writing skills are currently at. Volume 1 In a world filled with magic, war, giants and other awesome races lives Frank. Who being Frank is somewhat of a hermit. He loves to tinker with various contraptions trying to bend the laws of magic to his will. Through his successes he has garnered some attention; unwanted attention. If only that was all there was to it. .... war is coming Volume 2 Frank was born as a normal child, born in a normal family. His father was a scientist and was busy working most days. This is also why Frank was especially excited when his father decided to take an extended holiday to travel to Asia with his family. But their trip turns out to be one from which there is no going back. Writer's notice: I will continue to participate in the NaNoWriMo every November till I finish all that I have planned to write. I expect to have this story finished in 14 years approximately.Update:I was unhappy with how I had first written the first and second volume but am leaving the editing and finishing of those volumes till later and have started on the third one. The chronological order so far is 2-1-3. Might fix that too later.
