Alex had already selected a dress for her that paired with his tux. That dress was from the collection they brought the day before. He had specially chosen the dress for her because he already knew about today's event.

Alex was waiting for his wife near the elevator with his hands in his pockets. When he was busy looking at the wall, the door of the lift opened with a ding sound and a small figure came out.

The gown selected by Alex fit perfectly on the curve of her body. Carrying this type of gown was very rare for Avery but still, without a beautician, she gave her perfect appearance in that gown. She wasn't a very fan of makeup and didn't know so much about it. So she watched the makeup tutorial and covered her brown eyes with light smoky makeup. She preferred light coloured lipstick instead of dark. It was very difficult for her to convert her long and wavy hair into a bun but still, she did it with the help of some pins. Even though she didn't like makeup much, she did it just because of Alex.

It was the first time Alex had seen her in such a look that he could not take his eyes off her. With his wide-opened mouth, he looked at her for a long time and then he marched towards her with long strides. Wrapping one arm around her small waist he pulled her very closer until their chest crashed. "You look breathtaking, my little sweetheart." Her cheeks flushed hearing this and she couldn't contain her smile.

That time Alex desperately wanted to give her a very hard kiss but he didn't want to spoil her makeup so he just gave her a sweet kiss on her forehead and pulled her out of the mansion. He opened the car door for her. And after she sat inside, he also comfortably settled by her side.

After passing through the grand and huge gate, the car came to a halt in the entrances of the mansion. Immediately a bodyguard came forward and opened the door to Alex's side. As soon as the car door opened, Alex's shiny black shoe kissed the marble floor and followed the same action by another shoe as he stood at his full height.

Fixing the jacket he encircled the car and came to Avery's side.

He opened the door to Avery's side and held out his hand forward for her. Biting her lower lip in nervousness, she placed her small hand in Alex's massive hand and got out of the car.

Seeing her pouty face, Alex leaned his head. "Relax... I am here with you." He put his free hand on her cheek and whispered in her ear.

She became a little relaxed by Alex's words but her heart was not relieved.

With his hand on her small back, they both went to the main door.

When the couple entered the hall, people's eyes fell on them which had curiosity in them. They were all started wondering 'who is this girl with the undisputed king of the business world.'

'Is she is his girlfriend?' The idea came to the minds of some people but as they knew about Clara so the idea quickly vanished from their heads.

Some people thought that Avery would be Alex's date today. Some people even gave a character certificate to her that she must have spread her legs in front of Alex just to come with him today.

Although today's party was for Mr Hill, the special attraction of the party was Alex and seeing him with Avery, the girls in the party started glaring at Avery.

Alex understood in one look what was going on in the heads of the people at the party.

It was not difficult for him to recognize their nasty thoughts from the expression on their faces.

He clenched his jaw, thinking how low those people were. He wanted to throw them out but he had to tolerate them.

The good thing was that there were no paparazzi and it was forbidden to leak information about the party. Due to these strict protocols, the Hill family had a special place in society.

Ignoring all of them, he approached his family. His family was already waiting for him.

Their eyes sparkled at the sight of him approaching them with Avery and when he finally reached the spot, everyone ignored his presence and hugged Avery one by one.

Seeing all their love for Avery made Alex a little jealous but he was very happy that his family had accepted Avery wholeheartedly.

When everyone in the party saw the Hill family hugging Avery, they realized that Avery was special to them. But they did not know who she was.

Eliza asks Avery about her health and Alex's behaviour. She was very worried about Avery. Avery was more like a daughter to her than a daughter in law.

She was happy that she would be a grandmother in six months but still, she felt bad about Avery. She knows that it is not easy for any woman to become a mother. Being a mother means sacrificing your own dreams. Being a mother means taking new responsibilities for which Avery was still very young. She decided to talk to Alex about this later.

While Avery was busy talking to her mother-in-law, suddenly someone put a hand on her shoulder. Instead of being rough, the hand was soft and delicate so it didn't take long for Avery to recognize that it belonged to a girl.

And when Avery turned to look at the girl, there was a Skylar in front of her.

"Hello Little Sister Law," Skylar said teasing Avery and Avery also hugged Skylar with a wide smile. Telling Skylar that I am fine, she immediately asked her about her daughters.

Skylar said pointing to Ethan, who was standing a short distance behind her, talking to someone, "In the arms of her father." Avery looked in the direction that Skylar had pointed and widened her eyes. She stared at Skylar in amazement.

"Peony is in the arm assistant in Ethan's. I mean, Mr Ethan is your husband."

" Yes! And why are you asking in such amazement?" Skylar paused for a moment and, "Don't tell me that brother didn't tell you that Ethan is my husband." She referred to Alex.

"No, he didn't tell me." Avery struggled with her shoulder.

"How can he do this." Skylar puffed her cheeks and rolled her eyes in the hall to find Alex. Alex was talking to an elderly man with one hand in his pocket and the other holding a glass of wine.

Skylar quickly took her steps towards him. And after getting there, she very politely asked the old man, permission for her brother. "If you don't mind, can I talk to my brother for two minutes?"

The old man was surprised to see Skylar's manners. Despite being part of the top family in the business world, she did not have the arrogance that won the heart of the old man. He also smiled at her, "Why not a young lady."

Alex left from there saying, "I will join you later." But an annoying expression immediately appeared on his face.

"What is this Skylar?" He gritted his teeth so that the courage Skylar had accumulated was lost somewhere in the party.

Avery was watching it all from a distance. Seeing the expression on Alex's face made her feel bad for Skylar, 'Can't this person talk normally even with his sister?' The thought came to her head and she decided to go towards them.

Before Alex could say anything more to Skylar, Avery reached there and put her hand on his upper arm. Feeling the feminine and gentle touch, the beast inside Alex calmed down and he took his hand out of his pocket and interlocked his fingers with hers.

He didn't take a moment to recognize her without looking at her, which surprised Skylar. And the thought of how much her cruel brother loves his wife made her smile unknowingly.

"Skylar, have you called me here to show your smile?" Alex talked to Skylar as much as he could in a gentle tone because of Avery.

"I called you to ask that....." Before Skyler will complete, there was a strong footstep in the hall, which caught everyone's attention.

Alex's father William Hill was standing there when they looked in the direction of the footsteps voice.

Avery had seen William Hill on TV before but she never thought that one day she would marry his son and see him with open eyes.

She became nervous to see him in his full glory.
