"So, the only thing I am interested in right now is revenge. I need to take revenge for Sabrina and my sister Niccy. At least like that I might find my peace" Nick said.

Meanwhile, Layla listened to him very cautiously, observing each and every detail of his emotions.

His eyes showed how genuine his words are. That sadness, anger in his eyes is not pretentious. It came right from his heart…

But, Layla didn't want to take chances. Who knows??

When he was moving out from the States, he told her to handle every matter and interfere with him only if it is way more important.

She wanted to tell Brina and Louis about this, but she didn't want to spoil their peaceful vacation.

Moreover, she has to make sure he is genuine before making a decision. And, for that she needs to work with him.

There is nothing she will lose by doing that. She is the boss here.

The only thing is, he shouldn't find out that Sabrina is alive and she is married to her friend, Louis, who by the way is the crown prince.

And, she is very sure he would not be able to find out till she herself tells him about it.

"I saw the genuinity in you, Nick. I will work with you in attacking that underworld gang then" she said, shaking his hands.

She is already formulating the plan in her mind while doing this. And, Nick wouldn't be able to find out about her double plans because he doesn't know that she is connected to Sabrina.

According to him, this story is just a story which would assure her about his intentions. Nothing else.

"It will be very helpful for me, Layla. I caused internal rifts in between the rebellion squads and they are very distracted now. Striking their backbone now would be a great downfall to them" Nick said.

If not for the internal drifts he created, there would have been another attack by now.

"I already had my people ready for attack. Now, with your help, we will surely destroy them" Layla said.

She is rather surprised he is the one who caused internal rifts. Louis was telling her how lucky they are that rebellion didn't strike another attack by now.

So, this is the reason!

At last, Nickolas did something good.

If he doesn't play tricks and stay loyal, Layla decided to tell Louis about this. And let him decide what to do next.

If it is the other way around and Nickolas is still the same power greedy backstabber, once he was, she will kill this bastard right then and there, without even batting her eye.

No need to interfere with Louis and his wife here.

"Hey, Nick. If your parents disowned you then who are this couple you are taking care of?" she asked, suddenly remembering this.

Nick helped her in many things these years. It is why she felt like he was genuine.

With that help she has started slowly slicing down their power.

Though Nick used to visit them, that man never talked to him. There is always a fire of hostility emanating from that man and Nickolas on the other side always took it without complaint.

Irrespective of how that man treated him, Nick took care of them.

And, when she asked Nick about this, he told her that they are his parents and they are angry at him for not able to save their daughter.

She didn't probe much either after seeing their condition. They were in very pitiful condition and needed help.

Layla couldn't say no. She felt inhumane to do so.

If Louis would have thought like this and didn't help her in her lowest, she would have been nothing.

So, she always helps the needy.

In addition to this, what he asked her was a very small favor, so she didn't investigate much about it as well.

The couple he brought are here in the same town. Nickolas visits them whenever he is free, albeit not often.

But he cares for them a lot...

"I lied to you that they are my parents. But they are my fiancée's parents whom I saved by risking my life. I could only save them from that disaster. My fiancée, her brother, her sister in law and nephew were somewhere inside the building when the disaster happened. I could only save her parents" Nick said.

"However, her father hates me because I am the reason his children died. If I wouldn't have fallen in the trap and made our enemies use me to betray her family, this wouldn't have happened."

"I don't blame him anyway. The only thing I can do now is take revenge for their children and show them that I am no traitor" Nick said and he walked away.

His mind is so heavy now. He didn't want Layla to see him in his vulnerable state.

Meanwhile, Layla stood there rooted and shocked.

Brina's parents are alive!!

And, they are here in the same town!!

Just like she says, Louis is indeed her lucky charm.
