"But Brina, I totally forget to tell you. Two days back, a man came and he claimed that he is your grandmother's assistant. He said that he wanted to see you immediately." Hailey told.

"But Daniel ordered the receptionists not to give any information about you and even, not to allow anyone to meet your colleagues. So, that man went away" Luke added.

"However, I got to know about it just yesterday. I thought Mr. Daniel would have informed Sir Louis about it." Hailey said.

"I think the receptionists didn't inform him yet. They are very afraid of him" Luke said.

"Oh?" Brina briefly responded, not knowing how to respond.

"It must be Uncle Lin. He is my grandmother's assistant." she said, still deep in thought.

Her maternal family knew very well that her grandmother is her only weakness when it comes to the family matter.

'What are they planning now?' Brina wondered. 'I just hope they are pressurizing the old woman just to get my attention'

Thinking about it, she couldn't help but get worried.

"I will talk to Uncle Lin when I get time. For now, let's go. We have a meeting with our boss right" Brina said.

"And, that boss is your boyfriend" Hailey teasingly whispered.

"Please don't throw dog food at us. We are still single" Luke played along.

"Shut up!!" Brina said, face palming her face as she smiled.

"So, we singles will get PDA to suffer then" Luke asked, not backing off.

" If you are so sad that you are single, go and date each other!!" Brina chuckled.

"Brina, we are getting late." Luke hastily said.

"Yeah, yeah. Let's go fast"and Hailey added.

Brina laughed teasingly and the three of them walked into the company.

Soon the morning meetings finished and Brina returned back to her cabin and then called her grandmother's assistant immediately.

She is now worried about her grandmother whom she genuinely loves and cares about.

Getting back into flash back, after her mother, Jennifer eloped with her father George, everyone from Russell's family abandoned her mother.

They broke their connections with her and humiliated her. But, it was only her grandmother who genuinely cared and understood her mother' Jennifers love.

She gave her mental support and strength to move on in her life and forget about Russell's crude behaviour. For which, Jennifer was always grateful to Brina's grandmother.

Moreover, Brina never met her maternal family in her childhood. She and Seth were raised in totally different country and never got allowed by their father to meet Russell family who humiliated their mother.

Though her mother used to try to get into contact with her maternal family, Russell's, it was never successful.

They were that heartless people who only cared about prestige and social status. But Jennifer never told her maternal family how rich and powerful her husband was. She wanted her family to accept him by heart but not because of his power. And, unfortunately, it never happened.

Just to see her family, Jennifer started the branch of her orphanage in this country and Russell's have only started talking to her after finding out that Jennifer became a successful business women.

Even at that time, their interaction was very limited, because all they cared for is nothing but the money value that orphanage and her mother's assets holds.

Later, when Brina's parents died, it was her grandmother who convinced everyone and brought Brina back into the family. But, even from the start, Brina was only close to her grandmother.

Just for her grandmother's happiness she used to visit the family mansion now and then. And, everyone knows about that but they never cared much about her. It was her mother's properties and wealth they wanted.

Brina sighed and massaged the space between the eyebrows after remembering the past.

Then, she fished out her mobile and called her grandmother's assistant.

"Uncle Lim, I heard you came looking for me. Did something happen?" Brina asked as soon as he received her call.

On the other side, Mr. Lim sighed in relief. Old lady was so worried about her precious granddaughter after finding out that her granddaughter had gotten into an accident.

As Brina's uncle, Carson didn't inform them about the 'unfortunate' death of his 'beloved niece', others were only thinking that she got injured so badly.

Their concern rose to two folds when they found out that she disappeared.

"It's nothing much, Ms. Parker. Elder ma'am is worried about you and she is not eating properly ever since she found out about your accident. You already know about the deteriorating health condition of your grandmother and doctors have also warned us about it."

"If she continues this for a few more days, it will become problematic to her. Your grandfather has started to get worried about your grandmother and asked me to find out where you are. So, I made a visit to know about your whereabouts hoping that your colleague might help me with it." Mr. Lim told me.

"But, we failed in searching for you and this has made your grandmother more worried. It will be better if you come and meet her." he said.

Brina's scrunched her eyebrows and she couldn't help but worry about how her grandmother is now. She felt guilty for not informing her grandmother about what happened.

It is not that Brina forgot to tell, but it is more about how her sick grandmother would react once she finds out how bad her son and other grandchildren are.

Till now, she is totally unaware of the silent war between her son, his children and Brina. It is an unspoken rule not to make this old woman worry about the family matters.

But looks like someone has dared to break that rule, resulting in the risky condition of her grandmother.

"Don't worry, Uncle Lim. I will visit her very soon. I will try to take a day off and visit the family mansion tomorrow or at least, the day after tomorrow. Please tell my grandmother that I am fine." Brina informed him.

"I will make a phone call and speak to her tonight. Don't worry" she informed him and chucked the mobile away.

She sat down on the sofa and started thinking. But she could feel her headache coming up when she thought about what her uncle and cousin's would have planned for her.

"Brina baby, what happened?" a voice came from the door, startling her.

It is Louis.

"Louis how did you come inside? What if someone sees?" Brina asked, as she stood up in shock.

"Luke told me that you are disturbed since the morning. Even I noticed it during the meeting but didn't get to ask you. Hon, is everything all right?" Louis asked, approaching her.

"You made me worried" he softly whispered when she hugged him and leaned her face on his shoulder.

On the other side of the door, Luke noticed the couple hugging each other and closed the door understandingly.
