Mo Fei cast a glance at Qian Ye and said, “Do you mean yourself by saying some other man?”
Qian Ye shook his head. “Of course not. I am so short of money. I wouldn’t waste money on a woman who is less beautiful than me.”
Mo Fei, “…”
Cang Qian was enjoying the meat, calmly watching this scene, in the depths of the eyes flashed some unusual brilliance.
Gongsun Ying smiled with embarrassment and said, “Gentleman, can you make me? I really need it.”
“No.” Lou Yu refused instantly.
Gongsun Ying hung her head in despair.
“Hey, how can you be so unreasonable? She is begging you. Why can’t you give it up for her?” A man snapped angrily as he stood up.
“Forget it, I don’t want it.” Gongsun Ying looked gloomy.
Lou Yu gave a cold snort, took out the ice jade and then swept over the few people, “Mind your own business.”
Gongsun Ying bowed his head, and the depths of his eyes were full of murderous feeling. Several men looked at Gongsun Ying’s back, and when they turned to Lou Yu, they all showed a malicious feeling.

Calm as usual, Lou Yu handed the ice jade to someone from the auction house, and then cast a faint look at the direction where Mo Fei and Qian Ye were at.

Eyes twinkling, Qian Ye asked, “Lou Yu, you knew we were there, so you didn’t give it up to her. But if we were not there, you’d offer it to her, right?”
Lou Yu rolled his eyes and said, “Do you think I am you? As soon as I saw a beautiful, I can’t even move my eyes away.”
Qian Ye, “…”
“That woman is holding some ill intention apparently.” Lou Yu said.
“Why?”Qian Ye asked.
Lou Yu said, “Haven’t you noticed? She is a heavenly class, such beautiful woman who isn’t an ice cultivator. Why would she try to fight over an ice jade with me?”
Qian Ye wide opened his eyes, “So, you mean, the drinker’s heart is not in the cup?”
“I suppose so.” Lou Yu said.
Having been watching all this aside, Cang Qian looked at Lou Yu teasingly, “Lou Yu, do you know what she is?”
Lou Yu shook his head and said, “I haven’t seen her before. How would ever I know who she is? Elder, do you know?”
Cang Qian nodded and said, “Yes!”
Qian Ye looked at him in surprise, “Senior, you know her? Is it possible that woman has also lived tens of thousands of years?”
Cang Qian gave Qian Ye a white eye and said angrily, “Do you think it’s so easy to live so long?”
Qian Ye, “…”
“Although I have not seen her before, I know she owns the extreme yin body, this kind of woman is born to be deadly attractive to men.” Grinned Cang Qian.

Cang Qian looked at Lou Yu weirdly and said, “Are you sick?”
Lou Yu sneered in the heart, secretly thinking, having lived for thousands of years, you are still a virgin, but you still have the heart to care about me whether I got a man’s problem? Shouldn’t care about yourself more?
“Don’t bother, senior, I have no problem at all.” Lou Yu said coldly.
Cang Qian twitched his mouth and said, “Really?”
“Of course. I refused her only because my heart is firm.” Said Lou Yu grumpily.
Cang Qian rolled his eyes and said, “Don’t think I don’t know. You refused her just because she’s not your type.”
Lou Yu looked at Cang Qian, “if you insist, yes.”
Cang Qian looked at Lou Yu, “You just turned her down in front of so many people. She’d hate you to the bones now.”
“Whatever.” Lou Yu said blandly.

Then I had to stop and let my hands recover from their burgeoning carpal tunnel syndrome. The story currently stands at around 150,000 words (or ~550 RRL pages) over 54 chapters; expect a chapter a day until I've caught up with the backlog. The focus of this story was not quality writing, and that hasn't changed. I mostly use it as my semi-guilty "I need to write something, but am not focused enough to write something good" story. Expect self-indulgent writing in general, and a bit of OP (or, well, more than just a bit if we're being honest), especially later in the story as the protagonist matures into a more full-blown Planeswalker. But if you're looking for something with a power-ramping protagonist romping around the place, something you'd be a bit embarrassed to admit liking (I know I am) but like anyways (and come on, this is RRL, so that probably describes just about everyone here who actually has shame), then this may be a nice bit of mental junk food for you.

After the End: Serenity
We all want to believe we are heroes of our own story - unless we want to be the villain, of course. At the end of everything, the Final Reaper decided he hadn’t been a hero. Driven by a desire to right the wrongs he was subjected to, he killed everyone who wronged him or his people - which turned out to be everyone that wasn’t killed by someone else first. He'd won - but it was a hollow victory. Eventually, Order’s Voice found a way out. If the only existing being would agree to give up most of his power, the Voice could reset the multiverse to an earlier time with a few minor changes. Of course, the Voice couldn't ask it that way. It could only ask if the Final Reaper was willing to start over from when Earth was first brought into Order. It was an easy decision, and yet it wasn’t. Was he willing to go through eons of pain again to not be alone? Yes. In a heartbeat. Not that his heart beat anymore. Now it would. Perhaps he could even be a hero, this time. When he landed in his old body - more or less - on Earth, the Final Reaper once again became Thomas. He was both and neither. He needed a new name for a new life. Serenity. ------------------------------------------ While this is technically a System Apocalypse story, it's a System Apocalypse that is designed to have a large percentage of the population survive and prosper. There are a lot of problems that come with the appearance of the Voice, and it's entirely possible to lose. Earth has some special opportunities, but also special challenges. The first time around, Earth won the first round and lost the second. Serenity has ten years from when the Voice arrives to prevent that from happening. It will be a group effort; Serenity can't win alone - which is difficult for someone who's been alone for as long as he has. Of course, that's only his second priority. ------------------------------------------- Updates Daily A note on the nonhuman lead tag: He isn't human, and hasn't been human for a very, very long time (or maybe not long at all, depending on how you count it). He still thinks of himself as human, either way. The content warnings are mostly to give me room to write; this fiction is not intended to be edgy, but once in a while a character will swear or someone will get seriously injured. While we're not going to space itself any time soon in the story, people from elsewhere are coming to Earth and Serenity will visit other planets. Plus, I like space imagery.
