"You are Elena. I can't possibly mistake you for it. You can't lie to me by saying you are Elise. Have you forgotten, since I was little I could tell you two apart? So, you must be Elena." Diego clearly remembered Elena's eyes were brighter than Elise's dark eyes. And he remembered that Elise had a small mole on her left cheek while Elena had a faint dimple on her right cheek.
