Journey Towards Greatness Chapter 1073

As both Floette and Clauncher fell on the ground, they both tried to get back up, Floette had it a little easier as this is the first time she got hit in the battle but the damage was big.
Scald is a very powerful water-type attack and it can also apply burn on the target, luckily for Floette, she didn't get burned but the damage was still high.
Floette tried to stabilize herself in the air and tried to recover from the damage, Clauncher also lifted his body up with the help of his tiny legs, even though he is in a weak state his gaze is still locked onto Floette.
He snapped open his claw and took aim, he then started to charge up for another Scald, even though he is in a very weak state, he didn't want to miss this opportunity to take out his opponent, his opponent is still recovering from that Scald, one more and he will be able to end it.
As he reached the limit to power up the Scald, he felt all the energy inside his body drain, he was fading away from exhaustion but he didn't want to give up, he could see that his opponent is recovering and he needs to attack now.
He gritted his teeth and with the last bit of energy, he tried to force the attack out of his claw but he couldn't, this made him push himself even further suddenly causing all the energy he charged up to cause a chain reaction in his body.
His body suddenly started to glow very brightly, Clauncher started to evolve, his big claw started to grow and didn't stop.
It completely overgrew his body itself, his body also seems to be changing but under the bright glow Julian couldn't see the difference, once the blinding light fades away he could finally see what Clawitzer looks like.

The claw which was already big compared to his body size is now over 1.5 meters tall while his body is still less than a meter, his body is now darker in color and has sharp edges all over it, his claw looks even more menacing.
With this evolution, Clawitzer finally got the upper hand, with some energy still remaining in his body, he used Scald once again, this time he didn't have to put much effort into it.
Floette also seems to have composed herself as the evolution took some time, she didn't waste a single moment and suddenly started to charge up for a Solar Beam.
Clawitzer shot the Scald at Floette and Floette also blasted the Solar Beam, both attacks collided in mid-air, the collision caused the air around the collision to distort, the oxygen was burnt leaving nothing behind in the impact zone.
They both tried to get the better of each other, while Solar Beam being a grass type has an advantage over the water type move like Scald but Clawitzer has a better special attack stat so they seem to be evenly matched.
The two attacks won't stop colliding until one of them is completely exhausted, they cannot take the risk of stopping, if one stops they will get hit and neither of them wants to take that risk.
They both pushed the other to their limit, both of them started to get exhausted but Floette's tank drained a lot faster and her Solar Beam weakened, this was enough for Clawitzer to take advantage of it and he increased his pressure.
The Scald suddenly started to push the Solar Beam behind and it finally reached Floette and hit her as hard as it could, Floette went spinning through the air and landed on the ground, Julian quickly checked on her and noticed that she got knocked out.

Julian "The battler is over, the winner is Clawitzer"
He announced and picked up Floette in his arms and fed her some berries to replenish her energy, she opened her eyes and looked a little disappointed that she lost but Julian encouraged her to continue growing strong.
She is still in her second stage of evolution so Julian has nothing to worry about, as for Clawitzer, he just evolved and he needs to do a little more training before Julian goes and challenges the gym leader of Laverre city.
Once the training was done, Julian returned back to his hotel room to rest for the day, the next few days went by as Julian continued to train his pokemon and look around the city, visiting different sites and enjoying his time here.
With all the training done, it was time for him to challenge the gym, he woke up early in the morning, fed his pokemons, ate his breakfast, and headed straight towards the gym.
The gym is on the northern side of the city. When he got there he was surprised to see the gym, the gym was built on top of a massive tree, from the looks of it, the tree seems to be very ancient, it was clearly thousand years old and still looks healthy, the gym that is built on top of it looks carefully constructed to make sure that it doesn't hurt the tree in any way.
Julian walked into the gym and was greeted by a young lady wearing a beautiful traditional dress, she has brown long hair and a pretty smile on her face, as she noticed Julian she bowed her head and welcomed him.

Author's note: I love the idea of kingdom-building novels and think the genre has a lot to offer, but I don't think many authors do them very well. Here is my attempt. The novel has a strong focus on politics and kingdom building, with occasional action and a bit of humor. Have fun. Cover was made by MrZombie Updates three times a week.
