Alain lost and he lost pretty badly, it was clearly one-sided, he has never been so easily defeated, he has battled so many powerful trainers and some of them were elite four members and champions, he has even a win over some elite fours as well but the battle with Julian was completely different.

He felt he had no counter against him, he could tell that Julian saw his attacks coming before he even made them, to reach such level one must have battled a lot. This is what Alain's impression of Julian is. ​​

Lysandre is frustrated but he believes that Julian won't pose a threat once he completes his task and activates his own ultimate weapon, the one that he has been working on for years, it all began in Hoenn and it will end here in Kalos, his plan is perfect in his eyes, his calculations have zero errors in them, he believes no matter what happens, he will succeed in creating the beautiful world he dreams of.

Lysandre just watched Julian's back as Julian made his way towards the lab and then walked out of the front gate, this time no one stopped him, Julian decided to head towards the nearest pokemon park and train his pokemon for the upcoming battle against the Lumiose city's gym leader.

He looked at his current team and wondered which pokemons he should use, he has the Upgrade for his Porygon which he intends to perfect before feeding it into Porygon, then there is his Floette who is doing pretty well but Julian doesn't plan to use her.

Then there is Doublade, as Doublade just had his battle against the gym leader of Coumarine gym, Clauncher is also facing the same situation as he battled against the Coumarine gym leader, because of that battle Clauncher is very close to evolving and Julian doesn't want him to evolve yet, he wants Clauncher to focus a little more on his control before he evolves.

The only ones remaining are Skrelp and the newest addition to his team, his shiny Charmander, though Skrelp is weak to electric type pokemons Julian decided to use him against the Lumiose gym leader who is an electric type user.

Now Julian is only left with Charmander but Julian doesn't plan to use him in the battle as he is very young and doesn't even know how to use his moves properly, Julian hasn't even had to chance to build a relationship with him.

So Julian decided to use Porygon as his second pokemon but he decided to evolve Porygon before the battle.

Julian continued with his training and mainly focused on training Skrelp, he also introduced Charmander to his other pokemons, Charmander got overwhelmed by all the powerful pokemons around him, he was glad that he chose Julian.

Charmander is also fascinated by Infernape's fire and tried to touch it but he couldn't, just getting near Infernape's flames would make him sweat, even though he is a fire type and resistant to fire, his fire to not comparable to Infernape's.

Julian told Charmander to carefully observe the training between him and Skrelp, Julian wants to make sure that Charmander knows what he is getting into and how hard the training really will be.

Julian always wanted a Charmander but he never came across one in the wild, Charmanders are very rare, they can only be found in the Charicific Valley and Julian has never been to Jhoto, most of the starter Charmander comes from the Charicific Valley and his Charmander must be from there as well.

Julian started his training with Skrelp and concentrated on teaching him how to move swiftly around the battlefield. Since Skrelp doesn't have limbs to propel him around a dry battlefield, Julian always thought that water pokemon without limbs have a really hard time moving around the battlefield and it has been inconvenient.

Julian thought of something as he wanted to get rid of this weakness but this method should only work on small or very light pokemons like Skrelp, he wants to imitate Surf but on a very small scale, the water that Skrelp would use will act like a wave and move him around.

With Skrelp's allrounder stats Julian doesn't have to worry about Skrelp lacking something, his only weakness is his speed and Julian is making sure that his weakness is removed.

The training began and Julian asked Skrelp to imitate Surf on a very small scale, at first he failed but they kept trying, Julian would give pointers whenever Skrelp would struggle, the trainers lasted for hours.

His other pokemons also continue to train, even his Charmander started training with body exercise, Julian older pokemons acted as their trainers so Julian didn't have to keep constant attention on them, with his main focus being Skrelp the training continued.

As for Porygon, it really didn't need much training, it grew constantly with very little help, it just moved around the grass studying its friends' moves and how they battle, it has a record of their every move hand habits and if anyone of them battle against Porygon, they would likely lose, unless they pull out something completely new.

After training, Julian returned back to his fiancées' apartment and ate his dinner with them before feeding his pokemons and going to sleep.
