Now that Charizard has Mega Evolved, Alain felt a little better, he thought he has a better chance at battling Julian's Darmanitan.

Alain went on the attack, once again starting with Dragon Claw just like before, Charizard started by flying high up in the sky and dove down towards Darmanitan with full speed. ​​

The Dragon Claw seems to be much bigger than before as well and filled with more power, Julian looked at the incoming attack and wondered how he should deal with it, should he command a powerful move or continue to pressure Charizard by small moves.

He only needed a millisecond to decide.

Julian "Fire Punch"

Julian decided to counter with Fire Punch, even though Mega Charizard X is four-time resistant to fire-type attacks, Julian knows that the outcome will not be in Darmanitan's defeat.

Darmanitan charged up his move as the flaming hot fire flared around his right arm as he waited for the Charizard to get closer.

Once both of them found themselves in each other's range, they struck. Charizard swiped first with its left arm and followed by its right, it wanted to catch Darmanitan off guard and force him to only block one of them so it could land the other.

Of course, Darmanitan won't fall for such tactics, he has battled against Julian's best pokemons and these types of moves are quite common.

As soon as the first swipe came towards him, he used his other arm and launched himself up in the air with a powerful push easily dodging the first swipe, as he jumped up in the air, Charizard was not put in an awkward position as Darmanitan is right over its head, but it twisted its tail along with its wings to make a quick turn and went for an uppercut with its other Dragon Claw.

Darmanitan using the Gravity dove down and pushed with full power, the two moves collided creating another massive shockwave along with an explosion.

Charizard got sent crashing into the ground and Darmanitan also came down and landed straight on its stomach and rolled away.

Charizard got out of its pit struggling, Alain got a little worried, the previous exchange should have been in his favor but his Charizard was still overpowered, this battle was nothing like he has ever had before, even when he battled against the Champion of Hoenn region he was able to read and perform counters but right now he is being overpowered, he cannot come up with a counter no matter what he thinks.

Alain "Use Flamethrower"

As Darmanitan created some distance between him and Charizard, Alain took this chance to perform a special attack, after Mega Evolving, Charizard is not only a powerful physical attacker but also a special attacker.

Charizard planted its feet firmly on the ground and puffed its chest taking a massive breath and blasted the Flamethrower towards Darmanitan, the Flamethrower looked quite hot and destructive as the blue flames displayed why they are hotter than regular flames.

Julian "Use Hammer Arm on the ground"

Seeing the power behind the Flamethrower Julian is impressed so he didn't want to take the risk and make Darmanitan take the attack head-on, though it won't cause too much damage on Darmanitan, Julian wanted to do a clean sweep.

Darmanitan used a full power Hammer Arm on the ground causing the whole battlefield to shatter, cracks spread over the whole battlefield like a spider web, the rocks in front of Darmanitan flung out of the ground and suddenly acted like a barrier between him and the Flamethrower.

The Flamethrower hit several rocks and turned them red hot but it wasn't able to reach Darmanitan.

Julian "Now grab and throw them"

Now that the rocks have turned red hot they can now be used as ammo for Darmanitan, Darmanitan grabbed one of the rocks from the air and used his own flames to burn them hotter, and threw it at an extreme speed at Charizard.

Since Darmanitan is really bad as a special attacker, Julian came up with this plan, burning the rocks in flaming rocks and use them as massive rock fireballs.

Charizard was caught by surprise as it saw the flaming red hot rock shooting towards it, it tried to move to the side and dodge but the speed of this rock is too fast, the power and speed that Darmanitan applied on this rock are at full power.

The flaming rock smashed into Charizard's stomach, its eyes went wide as blue fire burst out of its mouth and Charizard got sent shooting through the air right out of the battlefield and crashed against a tree.

The tree broke in half as it was not too big nor thick, Charizard's Mega Evolution faded away revealing a knocked-out Charizard.

Alain turned around and looked at his Charizard with shock written all over his face, he never saw the attack coming, it happened within a few seconds and the battle already ended.

He then rushed towards Charizard to check on it and sighed in relief seeing that it is not heavily injured and just knocked out, he sent it back to its Pokeball and walked back towards Julian.

Julian also sent Darmanitan back into his Pokeball and looked at Alain.

Julian "You are good, I don't have a pokemon of your Charizard's level so this battle was a lot easier for me"

Julian said. He could tell that Alain is a great trainer and he didn't want Alain to lose his confidence, a trainer will lose their confidence at the beginning of their journey when they can't win or at their peak when they suddenly get destroyed by another trainer.

Alain's Charizard could grow stronger in the future but growth from here will be a lot harder, Alain also knows this, his Charizard might not grow any stronger for months, and facing such loss can be a huge blow.

Alain was indeed very devastated by his loss but hearing Julian, he was slightly relieved but he then realized that Darmanitan under Julian hasn't been trained any longer than his Charizard but he wondered how it got to such a high level so fast?
