Journey Towards Greatness Chapter 1019

Gurkinn looked at both Korrina and Julian and noticed that both of them are ready to battle, he didn't waste any time and waved his flags indicating the start of the battle.
Julian "Use Scald"
Julian decided to attack first, he could tell that Korrina is not actually taking him seriously at all, she really looked overconfident right now, he needs to make her take this a little seriously or she will be done for before she can even process her loss.
Skrelp puffed his chest as vapor spewed out of his mouth, he then shot a sizzling hot stream of water jet at Korrina's Mienfoo.
Sensing the danger from the incoming attack, Mienfoo jumped to the side and barely dodged it, the scaling hot water jet hit the ground and sizzled, it was as if it was burning the ground itself.
Korrina saw this and got a little serious, she has been a very dominant gym leader and she wants to keep her winning streak, she doesn't want to lose now as she has been experiencing the high of being an undefeated gym leader.
Till now no trainer has won and badge against her and this is also one of the problems Gurkinn is facing, he realized that his granddaughter really doesn't understand what it means to be a gym leader.
Winning the battle for a gym leader should never be a priority, it should be guiding the trainers who challenge them to become better trainers, he tried to explain this to his granddaughter but she didn't listen to him at all.
She just brushed him off by saying that she understands.
Now that she is facing a powerful opponent, Korrina felt that she needs to be a little careful.
Korrina "Use Force Palm"
Though she knows the opponent is strong, battling defensive is not her style and she directly went for an attack.

Her Mienfoo charged at his Skrelp with full speed, its palms glowed and were covered with explosive fighting energy, they were ready to land battling ending damage on Skrelp.
Julian "Now, Sludge Bomb"
As soon as Mienfoo arrived at the distance Julian wanted it to be at, he called for the offense, Skrelp puffed his chest and shot a concentrated poisonous black ball of sludge at Mienfoo. Since Mienfoo was coming towards Skrelp at such speed, it couldn't slow itself and the poisonous sludge is also traveling at high speed.
The sludge hit Mienfoo right on its face and exploded, Mienfoo went flying through the air and crashed on the ground, Korrina was shocked and looked at her Mienfoo to see if it is fine or not, she sighed in relief as he noticed Mienfoo getting back to its feet.
But her expression soon changed as she noticed her Mienfoo is wobbling around as its energy is being drained, it is getting exhausted as it has come under the effects of poison.
It couldn't stand its ground even for a minute before collapsing on the ground again but it's time it is out cold.
Gurkinn "Mienfoo is unable to battle, Skrelp wins"
He called the result, even he was surprised by this, he didn't expect Julian to one-shot his granddaughter's first pokemon.
Korrina is shocked, she couldn't understand what just happened, her Mienfoo was not a still target at all, it was charging towards Skrelp very fast and in a zigzag pattern, how could Skrelp be so accurate? She couldn't understand this at all.
If she knew the amount of training Julian has put his pokemons through, she would be shocked, Julian doesn't just train all his pokemon similarly, he sees their traits and characteristics, their body shape, their stats and come up with a battling style for them.

Skrelp here has been trained to be a marksman, his aim is superb and he is getting better at it, he is able to predict where his opponents will be before they are even there.
Korrina has never lost her first pokemon so fast, she couldn't process this.
Korrina 'It must be a fluke. Yes, that's it! It was a fluke and nothing else, I will make a powerful comeback and defeat him'
She thought to herself and sent her Mienfoo back to its Pokeball and sent out her next Pokemon on the battlefield, she sent her Machoke.
A big Machoke entered the battlefield and started to flex its muscles while looking at its opponent, the tiny Skrelp, a laugh released out of its mouth when it saw the tiny opponent, it believed that it would crush the seaweed-like pokemon with just one finger.
Korrina took a deep breath and went for the attack again.
Korrina "Use Power-Up Punch"
Korrina went for the attack again, her Machoke rushed towards Skrelp while channeling a lot of power into its fists, as it got close, Julian counted just like before.
Julian "Sludge Bomb"
Korrina "Not falling for the same trick again, jump!"
As soon as Skrelp shot the Sludge Bomb, Machoke used its powerful legs and jumped up dodging the poisonous sludge, it then started to descend towards Skrelp at full speed with its fist aiming towards him.
Julian "Protect"
There was no time to counter-attack and he could only use Protect right now.
Machoke arrived and its fist met with the forcefield creating a booming sound.

Using an ancient teleportation spell, he and his siblings were sucked into a portal leading to God-knows-where. In a foreign place far from home, Luz carries the burden of disobeying his ancestors and losing his younger brothers. He sets off to reunite his siblings and slay the dragon that destroyed their village while only being equipped with one useless space spell that drains all his mana after one usage. Author's note: English isn't my first language and this is the first novel I tried writing, which is why some of the earlier chapters aren't that good, even though I grew better over time. I'm still in the phase of editing a lot of my earlier chapters. But unfortunately, I haven't yet found any time for it. Daily updates are to be expected till we reach chapter 100. If your comment motivates me, I might upload up to five chapters.^^
