Journey Towards Greatness Chapter 1000

Julian looked at Grant's pokemon team and was surprised by it as both of his pokemons are fossil pokemons, one is Amaura and the other is Tyrunt.
Both are fossil pokemons, turning from fossils to living beings, Julian already knows a little about Amaura as he had interacted with it in the fossil lab, being a Rock/Ice type, Julian isn't worried about Amaura at all, due to its typing, it has too many weakness which Julian's pokemons can exploit
Julian plans on using Clauncher against Amaura, as for Tyrunt Julian plans on using Honedge, Tyrunt will be a tough one because of how powerful its attacks are, Julian has learned that Tyrunt's bites can crush rocks and it can be quite troublesome.
Julian knows the danger of pokemons with insane attack stats even at a lower level, like his Rampardos, when he was just a Cranidos his attacks were like missiles to his opponents due to their low defense.
Though Honedge's defense is extremely high for his level, Julian doesn't want to take chances, who knows what Grant's pokemons can do, one thing that Julian knows better than anyone is to always be open to possibilities.
After he was done with his research, he walked out of his hotel room and headed towards the mountain to train, it looked like most trainers living here did the same as well, Cyllage city is peaceful and most of its pokemon parks are on top of the mountain.
He walked up the mountain on his feet, he even had to do some rock climbing to get to the highest position as he wanted to see the city from the top, and he was not alone, many people in this city seem to be very interested in rock climbing.
He saw many people climbing the mountain using just their bare hands, he got to the top and began training his pokemon, focusing on Honedge and Clauncher as they will be the ones facing Grant and his pokemons, Julian pushed the two to their limits.

He wanted to go a little easy on Clauncher as he is quite new to the team and not that close to Julian but he was surprised by the stubbornness of the little guy, it wanted to train along with Honedge and grow stronger, it looks like the defeat it suffered from Porygon has ticked him off a little and he wants to get back.
He even tried to provoke Porygon but he was unlucky as Porygon just ignored his existence which pissed of Clauncher even more, he even tried to pinch Porygon with his bigger claw but only received a zap of electricity in self-defense from Porygon's side as his self-defense mode kicked in.
________________
Seeing that Clauncher is determined to train harder, he picked up the pace of the training and pushed both Honedge and Clauncher to their limits, Honedge did a lot better than Clauncher as it seems that he has an exceptional talent for a battle pokemon.
Not all pokemons are built for battles, two pokemons of the same species might be better at different things and not only battle, that is why it is important for a trainer to figure out their pokemon's strength at a very early stage.
This is also the reason why Julian always tries to find pokemon with the best potential for battling and not others.
The training went well, Julian is focusing on teaching Honedge how to use Solar Blade, this move is just like Solar Beam but physical, he also thought Honedge some other moves that will be very useful in the upcoming battle but the main focus right now will be Solar Blade.
As for Clauncher, he focused on teaching him Scald, right now his Clauncher seems to be favoring the defensive side as both his Defense and Special Defense are better than his Attack and Special Attack, but that will not be the case in the future, when he evolves, there will be massive changes as his Special Attack will rise through the roof and Julian wants to make sure that Clauncher is used to using his Special Attacks more than his Physical Attacks.

Though Scald for Clauncher is the priority right now, he is also teaching him some physical moves as well, he won't evolve right now and still has some time, till then it is better to have some physical arsenal as it will be helpful during a battle.
Training continued for another two days before Julian finally decided to go and challenge the gym leader of Cyllage city.
The gym is not actually located in the city but on one of the mountain tops, Julian will have to climb the mountain to get there, climbing a rocky mountain is actually not that hard for him, he could just grab crevasses and launch himself through the air with the immense strength he has.
But he didn't, he needs to be careful to not show his strength in front of normal people, he is not the only one who will be climbing the mountain, there were be locals and travelers who will be testing themselves there as well.
Soon he began his ascension to the top of the mountain along with other peoples, he made sure not to show off and maintained a well-paced speed towards the top of the mountain.
