The Ice Beam that Garchomp got hit was powerful enough to severely damage him but he got lucky and only got hit on his arm.

Garchomp came crashing into the ground from the sky as he couldn't utilize his arms to fly, he crashed on the ground creating a deep pit, Garchomp grunted and got out of the pit and grabbed onto his left arm as he could feel the pain pulsing around his left bicep. ​​

The Ice Beam hit hard and it was freezing his left arm but Garchomp used a small flamethrower and got rid of it.

Julian didn't expect Kyurem to be so fast, just after using a Blizzard it used Ice Beam, no matter how fast his reactions would have been, there was no way to dodge that.

Seeing that Garchomp was down, Kyurem charged up another Ice Beam and blasted it at Garchomp.

Julian "Counter with Iron Tail"

Seeing the fast incoming attack, Julian decided to counter and use it as a distraction.

Garchomp charged up a powerful Iron Tail as his thick tail was surrounded by thick steel energy, since steel type attacks have an advantage over Ice Types, and Iron Tail is a stronger attack than an Ice Beam, Julian was confident in Garchomp's ability to counter it.

As the Ice Beam got closer, Garchomp swung his tail by turning his whole body and smacking it into the Ice Beam, as the two attacks collided, it created a massive shockwave followed by flying ice shards.

Garchomp was able to counter the Ice Beam successfully and now there is a thick cloud between him and Kyurem acting as a screen and blocking Kyurem's sight.

Julian "Use Dragon Pulse"

Garchomp shoot through the fog using a powerful Dragon Pulse, the Dragon Pulse moved fast and hit Kyurem and did a little damage but this gave away Garchomp's position and Kyurem charged right into the fog using Dragon Claw to hit Garchomp but as soon as it entered the fog it got greeted by a surprise attack.

Julian "Use Iron Tail"

As soon as Kyurem entered the fog, it got slapped by Garchomp's tail right on its jaw, Julian on intention used that Dragon Pulse to give away Garchomp's location hoping that the aggressive Kyurem charges at him without thinking.

And just as Julian predicted it did the same, as soon as it charged in, Julian told Garchomp to get near the fog and change his location and as soon as Kyurem entered Garchomp landed that powerful Iron Tail.

Kyurem's head snapped to the right and it went crashing into the ground and its body rolled over the ground but to Julian's surprise, the Kyurem still got back to its feet, even aggressive than before.

Kyurem roared and shook off that powerful hit as if it was nothing, even though Julian is slowly chipping away Kyurem's health, he realized that this ancient monster has too much endurance and if this continues his Garchomp will go down from exhaustion.

Till now every attack Garchomp has used is him going all out with them, not one attack from him was not intended to deal as much damage as he could to Kyurem but this was not going his way.

Kyurem got more aggressive and charged at Garchomp again and this time it got very close to Garchomp as it was not pushed that far back.

It got very close and used Sheer Cold, Julian saw this and got a little worried, if this hits, his Garchomp will go down without putting any fight and since Kyurem is already so close there is no way of dodging it.

Julian "Use Protect then Dual Chop"

Garchomp quickly put up a barrier in front of him and stopped the powerful ray of ice that came towards him, as soon as this ray of ice touched the Protect barrier, it froze the air around it and the temperature went down even further.

The barrier shattered but it was able to stop the Sheer Cold, Garchomp followed after with Dual Chop as he charged up dragon energy in both of his arms and swung it at Kyurem.

Kyurem used Iron Head to counter within those few seconds before the impact.

The first swing from Garchomp slowed down Kyurem and the second swing stopped Kyurem in its track but Kyurem didn't stop and blasted an Ice Beam at point-blank range.

Julian "Use Protect"

Julian was on edge as Kyurem didn't give them time to even counter, it kept attacking, Garchomp quickly put up a Protect and stopped the Ice Beam but it shattered in an instant and some ice shards hit Garchomp.

They didn't do much damage.

Kyurem still didn't give Garchomp any time and swung at him with another Dragon Claw.

Julian "Counter with Crunch"

Garchomp created a massive jaw of darkness and shut down hard on Kyurem who was inches away from hitting Garchomp with a Dragon Claw.

The massive jaw came down hard on Kyurem, seeing the jaw shutting down on it, it used the Dragon Claw and hit it hard creating another massive explosion.

The impact from these moves sent Garchomp flying through the air even though he didn't get hit directly by them.

Garchomp crashed against a wall and went on his knees, the impact alone was enough to hurt him because of the dragon energy bursting out into an explosion.

Kyurem on the other hand just treated it like any other attack it took, even though it was getting hurt, it was completely ignoring them and charging at Garchomp as if it didn't take any damage at all.

This made it hard for Julian to tell how much energy does Kyurem really have and for how long can it go on like this, is it faking it, or do Kyurem really have too good of defense to get hurt.
