Drayden thought of his current situation and quickly called his Druddigon back to its Pokeball and sent out his next pokemon to the battle.

He sent out a Flygon. ​​

This choice was indeed good, a fast physical attacker that can fly, but Julian already has ideas of finishing this round a little quicker than before, even though his Escavalier still seems to be fine, he is not.

That exchange he had with Druddigon was very powerful and his Escavalier took a lot of damage from that and from what Julian saw, his Escavalier could continue for only a little while.

He didn't expect Drayden's Druddigon to be so strong, with the power and resistance it displayed, it could easily go on for hours against an Elite-Four level pokemon, the only reason Julian got an edge over Druddigon was because of the massive attack power behind Escavalier's attacks.

Those massive damages were able to finish Druddigon much faster out it would have been a disaster if the battle continued any longer.

That last attack was a way to boost his Escavalier's strength as well, he needed that massive boost to end the next opponent quickly, if his Druddigon is already this though to handle, his other pokemons might cause some trouble.

Julian's current team is close to Elite Level pokemons as well but he had never faced opponents of this level in his 8th gym battle in other regions so this was a surprise.

It looks like Drayden up the challenge for him.

Julian "Come on, you don't want to keep me waiting"

He said while taunting Drayden to make his move, Julian is looking for that one hit kill and he needs the Flygon to get closer.

Drayden "Not so fast, Flygon use Solar Beam"

His Flygon flew up and charged up a powerful Solar Beam and blasted it at Escavalier.

Julian "Use Protect"

Julian went for Protect and his Escavalier blocked the Solar Beam by putting up a force field in front of him.

After blocking the Solar Beam successfully he just stood his ground as Escavalier is a defensive counter attacker, it is not a good idea for Julian to go attacking upfront with Escavalier.

Julian "You know, those won't work, your best option is to get closer"

Julian said with a smile but of course, he was bullshitting, the best way to fight his Escavalier was keeping distance and dragging out the battle as long as someone can but his opponents don't need to know that.

And Drayden bought it, well it was all an illusion, with Escavalier putting up an act of being tough and with his shell being steel, there was not a single scratch on him, which helped a lot in putting up the front of Escavalier being very tough.

And his last act of stopping the Solar Beam added to it as well.

Drayden thought for a few seconds and went for the attack, he has confidence in his Flygon's power and ability.

Drayden "Use Dragon Rush, full power"

Since Drayden was going for a physical attack, he wanted to go big and went for a Dragon Rush, a massive blue dragon made of energy surrounded Flygon and it charged at Escavalier.

Julian smiled seeing the incoming attack, it was time to end this round as well.

Julian "Use Swords Dance then Mega Horn"

Julian called for another power up before going for the kill, after the Swords Dance, Escavalier's power is not off the room, as Flygon came rushing down with a powerful Dragon Rush, Escavalier formed a massive horn made of energy in front of him ready to smash it into Flygon.

As Flygon got closer, Escavalier moved as well, two massively powerful energy-based physical attacks are going to collide, just them getting closer caused a tremor to run through the ground, and wind starting to blow everywhere.

Everything started to shake and the gym's protection system kicked in blocking the referee and the audience area behind a protective force field.

The two attacks finally made contact and the explosion that came after it destroyed the whole battleground along with the roof of the gym.

The shockwave traveled across the gym and shattered every window and glass item inside the gym, and when the explosion finally disappeared the state that the battlefield was in was shocking.

There is a massive crater that has completely replaced the battlefield, it was as if a small meteor crashed here, and in the middle of this crater are two pokemons, one is Julian's Escavalier who is barely able to keep himself floating while the other is Drayden's Flygon who has been completely knocked out cold in the middle of the crater.

Drayden is shocked by the outcome of this battle, he didn't expect such a massive explosion to take place after the collision of the two attacks.

He looked at the current battlefield and felt like crying, there is no battlefield to continue to battle at all and his Flygon has been knocked out as well.

Drayden "Let's end it here"

He said looking at Julian.

Julian "Are you sure?"

Julian asked surprised.

Drayden "Well, there is no place to battle and from what I saw, you and your pokemon are more than enough to qualify for the league, you win this gym battle"

As Drayden announced Julian as the victor, the referee stepped in to officially end this battle.

Referee "The winner of this battle is the challenger since the gym leader has forfeited"

With that the battle finally came to an end, Julian looked at his Escavalier and he was quite proud of him, he took more than Julian expected, he was expecting Escavalier to go down as well but he stood his ground till the end, this just proved how tough Escavalier really is.

He called Escavalier back to his Pokeball and he finally collected the Legend Badge from Drayden.
