He said and comforted Miles.

Archen are pokemons that are flying type but cannot fly, their wings are still not well developed for them to take flight, Archens are tree birds as they use branches to travel from one tree to another and use their undeveloped wings to get that distance.

Archen could run and hop around but it was not enough, what is the use of flying type if a pokemon cannot fly, so Julian wondered on making sure that Archen can get at least enough time in the air so that ground type moves don't work on him.

Flying-type pokemons can get destroyed by a ground type move if they become grounded, especially if a pokemon they are facing of knows Smackdown as they can ground pokemons that can fly or have the ability Levitate.

Julian knows the risk of staying on the ground so he tried his best to make sure Archen doesn't get hit by a ground type move, with the training he put Archen through, he made sure that Archen has enough strength to flap his wings and be in the air for a few seconds and maybe even be able to use some flying-type moves that are not Peck and Pluck.

Larvesta on the other hand trained on controlling his fire energy and make it more destructive in nature, his speed also increased a lot.

One more training session and Julian should be able to take on Skyla.
