Clay got serious as he knew this battle will be hard, his winning record has not been great recently, a month ago he lost to a weird emo kid, he then lost to a muscular man who was using a Sirfetch'd. Then he lost to a trainer who was using a Scolipede, after then he suffered a crushing defeat against the man named Dhrago.

Right after he got his pokemons out of the pokemon center and they were back to kicking some ass, he is once again against another powerful trainer, he hated Julian for challenging the whole world. ​​

Most of the time he would spend his time in the mines digging stuff with his pokemons as it was his side job and passion but with Julian's challenge to the world, all these strong hidden trainers are coming out to participate in the Unova League.

Clay couldn't take a breath and another challenger would come knocking on the door to challenge him.

When it was not like this he had a lot of time for himself and his mining activity as most of the trainers that aren't strong and not fit of the league's requirement would get eliminated at Nimbasa city itself as Elesa would never allow anyone who is not strong enough to advance forward.

But now things have changed and it is up to Clay to filter out more trainers till the best of the best can enter the league.

He looked at his Sandslash and noticed it shaking its hand to get rid of the cold that if felt in his hand, that Ice Punch was a serious problem for his Sandslash and he needs to think of another way to deal with his opponent.

Clay "Sandslash, use Sand Attack"

Hearing him his Sandslash charged at Golett once again while exposing its massive claws, as it got a little closer to Golett, it curled up its arm and jabbed at the ground and flung a large amount of sand at Golett.

The size of this attack was massive as it covered Golett's entire field of vision and he is not fast enough to dodge it.

Clay "Now, use Night Slash"

Clay decided to bring out the big moves now and since his Sandslash knows Night Slash why not use it to deal a lethal blow to his opponent's pokemon.

Julian already figured what Clay was thinking and decided to pour cold water on him.

Julian "Use Stomping Tantrum"

Stomping Tantrum is just an Earthquake that has been nerfed, it is still a very powerful move but not as destructive as an Earthquake, if Golett wants to learn Earthquake he will have to evolve to master it.

Before Sandslash could even attack, Golett started to slam the ground with his legs causing it to shake violently as energy pulse traveled through he ground and was about to hit Sandslash when Clay made another call.

Clay "Quickly jump"

Sandslash jumped avoiding the Stomping Tantrum but it missed its chance to land the Night Slash, the Sand Attack came crashing down on Golett and covered his body with sand but it was not a big deal because Sandslash landed a meter front of him and tried to maintain its balance after that jump.

Julian "Now, use Ice Punch"

Golett got the chance and since his opponent is so close he was able to land the Ice Punch, the punch sent Sandslash rolling backward on the ground as the Ice that was spreading over its belly shattered and flew everywhere.

That hit was devastating but Clay's Sandslash didn't give up and got back to its feet but it was visibly hurt, one could still see a few pieces of Ice stuck on its belly spreading its coldness throughout Sandslash's body.

It used its massive claws to chip the Ice away but one could still see the marks left behind by the Ice Punch.

Clay frowned. That last move was unexpected, he thought that he tricked his opponent by blocking his pokemon's field of vision but his opponent used Stomping Tantrum to make his pokemon take action sooner than required causing his to lose the exchange again.

And that Ice Punch was showing its effects, it was potent and would spread all over Sandslash's body if it didn't break it as soon as possible.

Clay didn't waste any time and went for attack again, he didn't believe that Julian's Golett could just overpower his Sandslash in a head to head clash, their very first exchange was a draw because Golett attacked while falling down allowing it to use the force of gravity to his advantage but now that won't happen.

He was too focused on not getting hit but he decided to ignore it and take on Julian's pokemon head on

Clay "Sandslash, use Night Slash"

Sandslash charged at Golett once again, its massive sharp claws covered in dark energy charging at Golett with intent to deal heavy damage.

Julian "Use Stomping Tantrum"

Julian once again used Stomping Tantrum to take charge of the battlefield, he knew what Clay wanted and it was indeed the right thing to do but Julian won't allow it, why would he put himself in a disadvantageous position and lose the battle if he can avoid it.

Golett started to slam the ground with his legs causing the ground to shake and energy impulse started to travel through the ground trying to hit anything that it comes across.

Clay "Ignore and continue forward"

Sandslash was tough enough to not get destroyed by the shaking ground and the constant assault of the energy pulses that was touching its feet, it was also a ground type pokemon, and even though it is not resistant to ground type attacks it can still handle them better than other types of pokemons.

Its feet hurt but it continued to run towards Golett using Night Slash, if this lands, it can be the deciding hit, one Golett is weak to Dark-type moves, second, his defense is way too low and Sandslash's attack is very high and Night Slash is a powerful Dark Type move, this can clearly be a one-hit move for Sandslash against a pokemon like Golett.

Julian smiled as it was time to end this battle.

Julian "Use Phantom Force"

This is the newest move that Golett learned and a very powerful one.

As Sandslash got closer and swung its massive sharp claw at Golett, his whole body turned into a black silhouette and disappeared into his own shadow.

The shadow then traveled behind the struggling Sandslash that just missed its attack and tried to not fall down.

The black silhouette came out of the shadow and turned back into Golett, his whole body covered in Ghostly energy, he then placed his hands on Sandslash's shoulder causing Sandslash to feel its body go still then a jolt of pain hit its body, it was as if it was getting electrocuted.

But it couldn't tell what this feeling was as electric type attack doesn't work on it, as Golett let go of Sandslash's shoulder it tumbled on the ground slowly.
