Even though Elite Four is not as famous as Champions they still have a lot of fans all around the world, even Julian had gone through this process, the reason his company became so successful is because of his image and reputation and the more league he won, the more fans he got and more people wanted to buy stuff related to Julian.

Julian could imagine one of his fans going all out and buying anything that has the name Julian on it, from wall posters to underwear, they would even buy the fake one who illegally makes them profit from Julian's name.

So at the end of the league, the person who is rank two will get a chance to challenge the champion for his position if they are able to defeat the winner of the league.
