Journey Towards Greatness Chapter 703

The not so one-sided battle became completely one-sided after Drilbur evolved into Excadrill and won the battle easily.
The referee soon announced the result after Elesa's Eelektrik went down, she is shocked by the result of the battle, she thought that she might score a win against Julian but that win never came, his Drilbur evolved and defeated her Eelektrik easily.
She looked at Julian's Excadrill and realized that her pokemons are clearly outmatched right now if she wants to battle Julian she needs to bring out the pokemons that are over-leveled for a fourth gym and she cannot do that because it is against the league's rules.
As she started to wonder what she is gonna do, she noticed Julian take out a Pokeball and send his Excadrill back to his Pokeball.
Julian "I think you should choose your next pokemon, we don't have all day to waste"
Julian said.
It was clear to him as well that once his Drilbur evolved into Excadrill it would be unfair of him to keep him on the battlefield as he would single-handedly sweep Elesa's whole team, it is time to send out Darumaka and let him evolve as well.
Elesa nodded her head and called her Eelektrik back to its Pokeball and sent out her next pokemon, she took out a Pokeball and tossed it up in the air and a tiny pokemon came out of it.
It is Emolga, the flying/electric type pokemon, its typing is one of the most desirable typing for any trainer, the only drawback that this pokemon has is its low hp, many pokemons can one-shot it with a powerful Ice or Rock-type moves, the way it deals with them is its speed, they are very fast flyers and are capable of dodging most critical and fast attacks that are thrown at them.

Julian looks at Emolga and thinks about ways he can tackle this issue, his Darumaka being a physical attacker won't be able to land any hit unless Emolga is up close and his special attacks are mediocre at best and they don't even have much range.
In paper his Darumaka is clearly at a disadvantage but that won't stop Julian, it is a test for him to come up with ways from which his Darumaka can benefit and land that finishing blow, just one hit is needed for Darumaka to win, Julian has full confidence in Darumaka's power to take down Elesa's Emolga in one hit.
Julian also tosses his Pokeball and sends out Darumaka onto the battlefield, as Darumaka entered the battlefield he looked around and saw a pokemon that is smaller than him floating in the air looking at him, this is the first time Darumaka encountered an opponent that is actually smaller than him in an official battle so he didn't know how till will end up.
All his previous opponents were the same size bigger or bigger than him so targeting them and hitting them was much easier but when it comes to Emolga, it seems small and nimble and it can also fly which is really a serious disadvantage for Darumaka who has tiny legs and arms and the only way he can travel around the battlefield faster is by rolling around with the help of his round body.
Since both pokemons are on the battlefield the referee didn't waste any time and gave the signal to start the second round of the battle.
Elesa went on the attack once again, having a clear advantage over the terrain, it would be foolish to just wait for the opponent to make a move.
Elesa "Use Thunderbolt"
Emolga sent out a zapping lightning bolt at Darumaka, even though this Thunderbolt doesn't seem as strong as the one Eelektrik used it can still deal a lot of damage to Darumaka whose special defense is bad compared to his physical defense.

Julian "Move aside and use Flamethrower"
Darumaka rolled to the side and blasted a Flamethrower at Emolga, the Thunderbolt hit the ground and created a small crater on it, seeing the incoming Flamethrower Emolga moved to the side and avoided the Flamethrower very easily, it clearly has the superior mobility in this battle and it is clearly visible but Julian is not bothered by it, he is already looking at his surrounding and the battlefield, he is looking at everything and see if anything could help him.
He quickly found some ways from which he can bring Darumaka close to Emolga but it might be very risky, for now, he decided to play along, Emolga will not be able to display its momentum and nimbleness though out the whole battle and will soon get tired, his Darumaka, on the other hand, has one of the best stamina among his pokemons and can last longer on the field.
It might be a waiting game for Julian but he doesn't mind it, he is not trying to rush and win a battle, he wants his pokemons to experience every kind of battle they can face and experience it in real life.
