With the call from Chili the referee of this current battle, the battle started, Cilan decided to go first on the offense with a Scratch, the Pansage charged at Karrablast with its claws exposed, even though this little green monkey with a broccoli-like shape on its head looked tiny and goofy, those claws were no joke, the simmered under the bright lights that are placed on top of the battlefield.

Julian noticed that this Pansage is a little faster than his Karrablast but he really wasn't bothered by it, Karrablast's tiny legs are a little too small for them to achieve speed. ​​

Julian knows that his Karrablast will never be able to move fast, and when he evolves his speed will decrease even further.

Julian "Counter with Fury Cutter"

Karrablast's little hands started to glow in a dirty green color as they turned into sharp extended blades, both pokemons then called with each other with their weapons.

There is a tiny explosion and both party back off, the Pansage is sent a little further back as Karrablast clearly has more power behind his attack, seeing this Cilan realized that power is not the option and he has to keep his Pansage a little further from Karrablast so it doesn't get hit by those Fury Cutters are they could be the end of the battle, Furry Cutters get stronger every time it used unless another move is used by the user, Furry Cutter always doubles in damage power after every successful use.

Cilan "Pansage back up and used Vine Whip"

Pansage quickly made some distance between it and Karrablast and shot two long Vines at Karrablast to smack him.

Julian "Counter with Fury Cutter again"

Karrablast charged up another Fury Cutter and this time its power is double than before, now each one of his hands carried the same amount of power compared to the Fury Cutter he used with two hands before.

One hand for one Vine Whit and Karrablast successfully countered the Vine Whip, both pokemon once again came in a standstill, this battle is getting a little tense now.

Cilan 'This is not going to cut it, I need to get up close to deal some damage, my Pansage is clearly faster than his Karrablast'

Cilan thought and decided to make his move.

Cilan "Pansage, use Fury Swipes"

Hearing Cilan his Pansage charged at Karrablast with its claws exposed, this time they didn't carry the same power as a Scratch but Fury Swipes is fast and a combination move, every hit is weak but with multiple of them landing on the opponent it could be very effective.

Pansage got close to Karrablast and started to swipe left and right with its lands to land multiple hits on Karrablast.

Julian didn't do anything and waited for his chance as he watched Karrablast dodge a few of those Fury Swipes, some of them landed and dealt some damage to him but it was not over.

Pansage kept on with the attack and just as it got too comfortable being right in front of Karrablast Julian made his move.

Julian "Now use Counter"

Karrablast suddenly attacked, Pansage was so close that it didn't even see the attack coming, with all the damage it dealt on Karrablast, this Counter carried double the damage power, Karrablast's Counter landed straight on Pansage's stomach and sent it flying backward and crashing into the ground.

Karrablast also backed off a little and took a deep breath, his body is covered with scratches as those Fury Swipes did a number on him but that Counter was worth it, Pansage struggled to get up, that Counter hit very hard.

Julian would not be surprised if the Pansage fainted after that hit because it was powerful and Karrablast being a Physical attacker that move will be very effective.

Cilan got worried as he saw his Pansage struggling to get back to its feet, but he sighed in relief as it finally got back on its feet while holding onto its stomach and glaring at Karrablast, by now Karrablast has gained a lot of confidence, seeing that his opponent is not as strong as he expected it to be, he is relieved.

Cilan "As expected but my Pansage has not given up so I won't either! Pansage, let's do this"

Cilan cheered on his Pansage and continued the battle, Julian didn't say anything and just waited for his opponent's move, he could have finished this battle while the Pansage was down but when he saw the Pansage trying very hard to get back to its feet he decided to stop.

Cilan "Let's go, Vine Whip on the ground and use Scratch once again"

This time Cilan tactic changed, his Pansage suddenly used Vine Whip and aimed it at the ground, the Vine Whip pierced into the ground very easily and then Pansage used it to propel itself towards Karrablast at high speed using Scratch.

Julian "Use Bug Bite"

As Pansage charged towards Karrablast, Karrablast just opened his wide mouth and exposed his sharp fangs which started to glow dirty green and the fangs expanded, as Pansage swiped with its claw Karrablast bit down straight on its hand which caused a mini-boom sound, this caused smoke to cover everyone's vision, once the smoke cleared up they could see that Pansage's arm was hurt after that exchange and it couldn't be used right now during this battle.

Cilan "Bullet Seed"

Cilan didn't stop, he still had a chance as Karrablast is so close but Julian is not going to sit idle as well.

Julian "Fury Cutter"

Karrablast and Pansage made their move at the same time, Karrablast's Fury Cutter cut through some Bullet Seeds and landed directly on Pansage while Pansage's Bullet Seeds also landed on Karrablast but the winner was Karrablast.

He is resistant to Grass-type moves while Pansage was weak against Bug-type, Pansage fell on the ground and fainted while Karrablast stood still and took a deep breath.

He won his very first battle.
