Julian decided to challenge the gym day after tomorrow, after giving some normal training to his pokemons he should be ready.

The next day he got up ready and started to train his Karrablast a little more before it is ready to battle, his Darumaka has some experience but this will be Karrablast's first battle and even if he loses it will be an experience. ​​

The training went a lot easier than Julian expected, Karrablast caught up to all the basic training quickly and did a few mock battles with Darumaka which he lost but he got better after every battle.

And so another day ended with Karrablast ready to battle and Julian is ready to challenge the gym.

Julian made his way towards the gym once again, this time he is not going there to eat but to battle but winning the battle also means that he can get free food there so he is planning to eat for free.

When he got there he saw the same old scene as yesterday but the customer was a little low because it is still morning and the dish being served are all breakfast items.

As he walked in he got noticed by the gym leaders who were waiting around the room taking orders, Cilan, the one with green hair walked towards Julian and greeted him.

Cilan "Welcome back sir, what do you need today?"

Cilan asked. He has seen this man yesterday, he also knew that this is Julian because he had seen his face while eating, it was a surprise that other customer didn't notice him, the real reason was that Julian took a seat at the corner of the hotel where many people didn't actually look.

Julian "I am here to challenge the gym for a battle"

Julian said.

Cilan "I was expecting you to challenge us, so who do you want to challenge?"

Cilan asked.

Julian "Hmm? What do you mean?"

Julian got confused.

Cilan "Well, a trainer can challenge one of the gym leaders based on their preference, I am a grass type user, while my bothers are fire type and water type respectively, so a trainer can choose which type trainer they want to take on as their first gym"

Cilan gave the explanation to Julian, hearing this Julian realized that he was a little mistaken about how this gym actually functions but it didn't matter now.

Julian thought he would face all three types of pokemon but now he has to choose only one and this is good.

Julian "So, it's just a one on one pokemon battle?"

He asked.

Cilan "Yes"

He answered.

Julian "Then, I will challenge you"

Julian said.

Cilan "It's an honor to battle you, you can head towards the battlefield and wait for me, I will be there"

Cilan informed Julian to wait at the battlefield while he gets ready, Julian chose Cilan because he is a grass type user and his Karrablast has an advantage over grass type pokemon.

Since this will be his very first official battle, Julian thought he could use an easy challenge.

Julian entered the battlefield and looked around and to his surprise, the battlefield was bigger than he expected, for a starter-level gym this was quite big, many new trainers came and challenged this gym as their first one because it is the easiest to clear and the pokemon they used are low-level pokemons who are in their first form.

Julian didn't have to wait for long before his opponent entered the battlefield wearing his usual black and white waiter outfit but he seemed to be ready for the battle he will be having right now, Julian looked outside the battlefield and noticed that many people were looking at them with excited gaze.

Since this was an official pokemon battle they couldn't miss it, it's not every day that a challenger comes and challenges one of the gym leaders for a pokemon battle.

Julian and Cilan both took their place on the battlefield, Julian could tell that this Cilan is very eager for this battle, he had a passion for pokemon, this made Julian smile, it's always better to battle someone who loved pokemon battles.

Soon after another gym leader entered the battlefield as a referee, he is the one with red hair, the fire type user.

Referee "This will be a one on one pokemon battle between gym leader Cilan and the challenger, the pokemon which is standing at the end of this battle will be the winner"

The red-haired gym leader whose name is Chili explained the rules, it was the same as every other gym rules, but it was mandatory for all gyms to explain the rules before the start of the battle.

Referee "You both may choose your pokemons"

With the call both Cilan and Julian sent out their pokemons for battle, Cilan sent out his grass monkey Pansage while sent out Karrablast, both pokemons took their stage and stared at each other, while Pansage was used to this, it is Karrablast's first time and he seems a little nervous.

He has lost every battle against Darumaka so he is feeling a little down, Julian knows this so he decided to give Karrablast an easy opponent.

Julian "Don't worry just listen to mean everything will be fine"

Karrablast heard Julian's voice and calmed down, during all this time they spent together Karrablast got attached to Julian, since they are still young pokemons it is easy for them to get connected to others easily, same cannot be said for pokemons that are old and experienced, that is why trainers have a hard time communicating with pokemons that they caught recently who are already old and mature.

Referee "Let the battle begin"

Chili made the call and started the battle.
