He decided to go with the current two he has, he has been training Darumaka and Karrablast on how to battle and they are improving a lot and leveling up, now they are strong enough to take on a gym battle.

Julian knows he will have to face against three pokemons in the first gym and most of them won't allow a trainer will less than three pokemons to battle but the gym in Striaton city doesn't seem to bother about it.

The reason is that this gym has three gym leaders and they are brothers, some times they only hold two on two pokemon battles because one of them might not want to battle, them being comfortable with two on two pokemon battle is good.
