As the referee continued to explain the rules to the trainers, nobody dared to breathe loudly, Ash and Tobias are looking at each other, their gaze locked and focused, they are ready to go all out.

Tobias is not looking down on Ash, he did some research on Ash and found him a hard opponent. ​​

Tobias also commanded his Darkrai to dodge the Hyper Beam and blast another Ice Beam at Heracross, since Heracross cannot move right now because of the Hyper Beam it used Ash called out Protect, Heracross used Protect and deflected the Ice Beam easily.

Once Heracross is able to move again Ash began to attack Bug-type attacks like Pin Missile, he forced Tobias to continue dodging, some Pin Missiles his Darkrai and inflicted some damage on it.

Seeing this everyone is surprised, this is the first time someone has put Tobias in such a position, Ash's Heracross is showing its ability to the world and people are getting excited.

Ash then called out a Horn Attack, Heracross charged towards Darkrai with incredible speed as its horn started to glow white.

Tobias got the chance he was looking for and called out Dark Void, as Heracross was very close to Darkrai by now it couldn't dodge the attack and got hit which put Heracross directly to deep sleep.

Seeing this Julian frowned, he knew about Dark Void, it puts the opponent into a very deep sleep.

Even his pokemons won't be immune to this.

As everyone thought Ash's Heracross was done for Ash called for Sleep Talk, to someone like Julian Sleep Talk is a very useful move, he can communicate with his pokemons even if they are asleep due to his abilities but to someone like Ash its different.

His pokemons won't be able to hear anything he says, so they will use moves on their own till they are defeated.

As Heracross is very close to Darkrai, it got back to its feet all of a sudden and charged at Darkrai while using Mega Horn, seeing this Julian became dumbfounded, Ash's luck is really good today, out of all the moves Heracross could have used it used Mega Horn, one of the most powerful Bug-type moves.

Since Darkrai is weak to Bug-type attacks it might get finished by this, Darkrai couldn't dodge this close range charge and got hit by the Mega Horn and got sent flying backward while it held its chest tightly in pain.

Heracross's attack had ridiculous power behind it but it is still not enough to take down Darkrai but it is badly damaged by the Mega Horn.

Julian 'Just a little more power behind that Mega Horn and it could have been a huge upset'

Seeing this Tobias is surprised, he didn't expect his Darkrai to get hit so badly in their first exchange and from the looks of it, Ash is the more dominant one is their first exchange.

Heracross once again charged at Darkrai using a powerful Night Slash but the distance between it and Darkrai gave Tobias enough space to finish this one.

Tobias "Dream Eater"

Darkrai suddenly sent out a purple aura towards Heracross and stopped it right in its tracks, Dream Eater is a very powerful move, it only works when the opponent is asleep but when it hits, it helps the user recover 50% of its health back.

Heracross got knocked out while the badly damaged Darkrai got half of its health back, it's not at full strength but it is in a better condition before than a minute ago.

Referee "Heracross is unable to battle Darkrai wins"

The crowd cheered as they still continued to guess what Tobias's next pokemon could be.

Ash looked at Heracross and smiled, giving his thanks he called it back and sent out his Infernape, as Infernape came in people started to cheer, its last battle with Electivire caused many people to go emotional and get attached to it, Infernape is right behind Victini in popularity scale in the current league after its last battle with Electivire.

The battled started with Infernape taking the charge with powerful Flamethrowers while Darkrai countered with Ice Beams, seeing no progress Infernape started to move and its speed was blinding, even Julian is surprised by the speed Infernape is displaying.

Julian 'It is faster than the time it fought Electivire'

Julian thought as he watched Infernape move, that is when he suddenly noticed something, Infernape's movement seem very similar to his Infernape's movements.

Julian 'When did Ash learn that, I never thought him?'

He thought and tried to remember if he thought Ash, then he suddenly remembered, he let his Pokemons free while he was enjoying his time with Cynthia, even his Infernape left to look around the valley.

Julian 'Did Infernape teach it?'

He thought and looked at the battlefield, and suddenly he noticed something and he got surprised.

Ash "Now Focus Punch"

Ash's Infernape suddenly came in front of Darkrai as if it is trying to take Darkrai head-on.

Tobias "Drain Punch"

Tobias called out Drain Punch to counter it and to heal Darkrai further in the process, as both were about to connect, Ash's Infernape side stepped very fast avoiding the punch, it then suddenly grabbed onto the arm of Darkrai with its left hand and got extra leverage to turn very fast counter-clockwise and Ash's Infernape delivered a powerful Focus Punch right on Darkrai's head and sent it crashing right into the ground with a big bang.

As the smoke cleared up everyone could see Darkrai had been knocked out, seeing this everyone went silent, the undefeated pokemon in the whole league has been defeated by Ash and his Infernape.

As the realization hit them the crowd burst into a huge roar, the announcer is going crazy, and Tobias is shocked.

Julian smiles as he noticed those movements, he took out his Infernape's Pokeball and called him out.

Julian "Look, your training seems to have shown effect"

He said and smiled at his Infernape, Julian's Infernape looked at Ash's Infernape and didn't say anything.

Julian just smiled and said nothing as well, from the beginning Infernape has never interacted with his own species before so seeing that his Infernape is showing interest in other Infernapes made Julian happy.
