Trevenant roars and releases a black aura around its body like a curse, seeing this Julian quickly pulls out Togekiss's Pokeball and points it at her.

Brian is surprised by the sudden change and he tries to figure out where Lucario is going to attack.

Lucario suddenly burst out from the side with her daggers faced up as she lands a strong and sharp slash on Trevenant which sends it flying, Trevenant lands on the ground but it didn't faint.

Destiny Bond only works when the user faints.

Julian first called out Shadow Blade so that he can force Brian to call for Destiny Bond, once he was successful in doing so he changed Lucario's move into Dig giving it ground element.

Since Trevenant is resistant to ground type attacks it didn't affect it that much but the damage is done and one more Destiny Bond is used.

He calls back Lucario and sends out his next pokemon, Luxray, this is Luxray's first battle in the league and he is facing against Trevenant.
