Luxray lived up to Julian's expectation, yes, he was the one giving the orders but Luxray was the one who had the learning experience, he learned not to only rely on his strongest assets but also his other abilities.

The first battle is over Luxray took the victory with his raw power and superior abilities. ​​

Proprietor "Jolteon is unable to battle, Luxray wins"

The Proprietor called the result.

Volkner "Wow, I didn't expect that but this battle is not over, Raichu you are up"

Volkner didn't give up, Jolteon was his weakest pokemon, her speed was the only thing that put her above her opponents and that was enough for her, her Special Attacks were above average which dealt decent damage.

Now Volkner sent his Raichu, this Raichu was his first-ever pokemon, it was a Pikachu in the past and now it's a powerful Raichu.

This one is a male so Luxray's attack would deal double the damage on it, Julian decided not to continue with Luxray and sent him back to his Pokeball so he can rest.

Julian decided to send his Gliscor as Luxray's replacement, Gliscor has the least experience when it comes to battling compared to his other pokemons, he has battled them and has learned a lot but that's all, when it came to opponents with different styles, he has very little knowledge.

Julian "Let's go Gliscor, you are up"

Julian said and sent out his Shiny Gliscor, Gliscor came out and landed on the ground using his tail, his whole body is being supported by his powerful tail, his tail has enough strength to carry many times his own body weight, his thick tail has the power to knock out anyone but he is not used to using them.

His whole life Gliscor relied on his pincers which had crushing grip strength, they could cause heavy damage to any opponent but Julian had other ideas, he knew Gliscor physic, he had seen how powerful Gliscor's tail really is and it would be a waste if he doesn't use it, it could be used to grapple, throw, crush, and hit opponents depending on the situation.

Since he is facing an electric type right now he is completely immune to Raichu's electric type attacks, he is also immune to any ground type attacks as well due to his secondary typing which is the Flying-type.

Julian has no idea what other pokemon Volkner had in his team, he challenged Volkner blindly without doing any research on him, he knew about his Raichu because he saw Ash battling against it.

Volkner "A Gliscor, this is going to be hard, Raichu let's go all out, Quick Attack"

Volkner said and gave his command, he is excited, he felt pressured against the person that is standing in front of him, he felt as if he was the challenger and the man in black was the gym leader, this feeling, it was the same when he was young, going around Sinnoh and challenging gyms.

His Raichu charged at Gliscor at high speed, he is not as fast as Jolteon but his speed is admirable, with Quick Attack the speed is boosted and his size also helped in increasing the power behind the attack.

Seeing the Raichu heading straight towards him Gliscor grinned as he showed his razor-sharp fangs, his eyes became fierce, his pupils shrunk as he gave off a fierce aura, Raichu sensed the pressure increasing but he didn't slow down and continued forward, the glow in front of Raichu's head grew brighter as the power of the attack increased significantly.

Gliscor crossed his pincers and grabbed the ground under his tail tightly by the hooks in his tail, Gliscor is the tank of Julian's team.

Raichu connected, his head against Gliscor's, their eyes are locked, both have a fierce look on their faces, it looked like a clash of titans, one trying his best to land a powerful hit and the other trying to stop it without building from his spot.

The clash caused a shock wave, winds went blasting at high speed across the battlefield which rose the dust in the air, Raichu is one of Volkner's strongest pokemons so this Quick Attack had a lot of power and he even increased his speed to land more damage on Gliscor but it seems like the attack had no effect.

As their eyes were locked, Raichu trying to push Gliscor back but no matter how hard he tried Gliscor didn't budge from his spot, the fierce looks in his eyes didn't waver on a bit, Gliscor can easily counter Raichu right now, his pincers are free, he could just finish the battle right now by using Guillotine, there is no way Raichu could escape it at such close range.

But doing that would be no fun, Gliscor's tail which has been hooked on the ground is holding its position, cracks have already appeared around the hooked area from the impact force of Raichu's Quick Attack.

Raichu failed to deal any damage on Gliscor and was pushed back by Gliscor, with his own sheer power Gliscor stopped Raichu and his attack, this was the power being Gliscor's defense and raw power, both combined he couldn't be moved no matter what their opponent had in their arsenal.

Raichu fell on the ground as the force behind his attack stopped, he is clearly opened to an attack and so Julian made his move.

Julian "X-Scissors"

With that, the exchange between them came to an end, the crossed pincers of Gliscor moved to create a greenish-yellow X shaped blade which landed on Raichu sending him flying in the air and it crashed against the wall.

Raichu got knocked out, this was an easy battle from Gliscor because he is completely immune to Electric-type attacks and his Defense is ridiculous making it very easy for him to take any attack, his attack was also very powerful, Raichu had no chance winning this bout.
