Journey Towards Greatness Chapter 369

Byron didn't say anything and called back his Steelix, the battlefield has a huge crack right now, things would be hard for pokemons to move around.
Byron took out his next Pokeball and tossed it out and out came his Bastiodon, they are known for both high special defense and physical defense making them very hard to take down.
Julian 'Hmm? Isn't Bastiodon is ace, why did he sent it first, or is there something else he is planning, interesting'
Julian thought.
Byron "Are you going to switch?"
He asked, he no longer underestimated Julian. If this continues he knows he will lose and this will also be his biggest loss, even when Cynthia was a young trainer and came to challenge him she was down to her last pokemon and she only won because his Bastiodon was the one to go down first while her Gabite was on her knees and very tired.
But right now, two of his pokemons are already down and the opposition hasn't even revealed his last two pokemon and he still has all four of them remaining.
Byron has to come up with something new so he decided to go a little more tough on Julian this time, he really wanted to see how strong his opponent really is.
Byron "Bastiodon, Use Ancient Power"
Bastiodon started to gather power from it's surrounding and sent a ball of energy surrounded by many small energy balls, this attack charged towards Gliscor at full speed.
Julian "Destroy it with Brick Break"
Julian gave the command and Gliscor did as he said, he used Brick Break and charged into the attack and destroyed it, Gliscor's attack is very powerful compared to Bastiodon so destroying its attacks was nothing to Gliscor.
Byron "Use Blizzard"
Suddenly Byron called out a move Julian didn't expect at all, Bastiodon suddenly used Blizzard causing that whole battlefield to go cold, snow started to blow everywhere catching Gliscor by surprise, Gliscor is 4x weak to Ice-type attack so this will definitely take a toll on him.

His wings started to go heavy as he tried to keep himself in the air but it was of no use, the snow was getting harsh and he soon came back to the ground.
Julian didn't expect Bastiodon to know Blizzard but this is a pokemon battle so he is not worried about it, the Blizzard does some damage to Gliscor as his wings get covered with ice.
Julian "Its nothing don't worry you can do this"
Julian said and calmed down Gliscor, like his other pokemons, Gliscor doesn't have much experience in battle and he is also the weakest of the group, he still needs to learn a lot before being on the same level as his other pokemons.
Being Julian's newest pokemon is hard, they have a lot to do before they can catch up to the others, but Julian knows this so he always focuses on his newest pokemon a little more than others so they don't feel bad about being the weakest of the group.
Gliscor felt the same when he was first introduced to the group, he would lose every exchange but Julian was there by his side to train him.
Gliscor doesn't have to prove anything to Julian because he already took down a Steelix trained by Byron, this proved that Gliscor has grown a lot during the time he spent with Julian and his pokemons.
Right now Gliscor is feeling pressured and panicked, he knows that none of Julian's pokemon have lost a battle and if he loses he would feel ashamed.
Hearing Julian he turned around and looked at him.
Julian removed his mask and smiled and Gliscor telling him its ok to feel pressured, Gliscor saw the smile on Julian's face and calmed down.
On the other hand, Byron who was standing on the other end got stunned by seeing the person behind the mask.

Byron 'Isn't that Julian, the previous champion of Kanto? What is he doing here? Wait why is he even challenging me? Ah, I heard he likes to travel the world and participate in the league, so is he going to participate in the upcoming league?'
A lot of questions exploded in his mind as he thought about this.
The reason he doesn't know about Julian being in Sinnoh is that he spends all his days in the mines, aways mining alone, he doesn't care about the outside world, he doesn't even watch the TV so he had no idea that Julian was in his city.
Byron "You, you are Julian the previous champion of Kanto"
Byron said and exclaimed.
Julian "Haha, I was just messing around a little bit"
Julian said and smiled.
Byron still couldn't believe that he was looking at the man who is known to be the strongest trainer in the world.
Byron "I did suspect something was off, that battle style was very different and skillful, even better than the elite four
Julian "Why not continue this battle"
Julian said.
Byron nodded and became more serious, even though it's Julian standing in front of him he cannot let it get into his head, first, he is a gym leader and he needs to fulfill his role.
Byron "Bastiodon, let's get this over with, use Heavy Slam"
Bastiodon charged towards Gliscor and suddenly jumped high in the air, metallic energy surrounded it as it came crashing down on Gliscor whose wings are still frozen.
Julian "Gliscor, let's go all out, use Guillotine"
Gliscor is about to pull off his ultimate move, he started to gather all his energy around him creating two sharp, curved, serrated blades that were shaped like an ant's mandible, since Gliscor has been slowed down due to his frozen wings, Julian decided to take this head-on and finish it.
He understands what Gliscor is thinking, being his pokemon is not an easy task as well, if one of them is behind others they will feel pressured and Julian doesn't want that to happen.
He thought of not using this move at all, this move is a clear fight finisher, but it's very taxing and Gliscor will go weak after using it.
What Julian doesn't want is Gliscor to lose now, if he looses he might feel the pressure.
Gliscor waited for Bastiodon to come closer to him and then it happened, as Bastiodon got close to Gliscor, the Mandible snapped shut, it caused a huge explosion, an explosion like nothing before, rubbles went flying everywhere, the air blows everywhere.
Gliscor rolls out of the smoke and slowly gets back to his feet, he is very tired and cannot battle anymore, the smoke clears and Bastiodon is found on the ground unconscious.
That Guillotine took out a lot from Gliscor and he won't the battle and now he is too tired.
Julian "You did well, you may rest now"
Julian said and called back Gliscor.

Gamer
I am making this story as a revamp, edit, and transformation of the legendary gamer into something that can be better related to. I have done some work on writing, and also put more work into preparing the introductory thoughts. I will have a bare minimum of weekly updates, but there may be more depending on how much time I have. This story will follow Gregory Jeffrey Drake, a young man whose life is partially micromanaged by his parents, and in time will come to be a powerful character in his own story. For now though, the main focus for Gregory is to grow and find his place in this new world he has been dropped into. Gregory gained a new type of class, and must use it if he hopes to stay alive and make the world a better place.

At The Lions Gate
In the 20th century America reinvented itself. Devastated by depression, scarred by war, rocked by a revolution, Americans banded together to preserve their country and their freedom. They had faith in themselves, faith in one another, and for those who believed…faith in God. This novel tells the story of one American who lived through those turbulent years….years that would test his character and the character of a nation. For Josh Sanders it begins in 1935. A star athlete in school, pro football is a ticket out of poverty during the Great Depression; but when his father, a WWI veteran, is killed during a robbery, Josh’s spirit is broken, and with it his boyhood dream. To honor his father Josh joins the war effort in 1942, distinguishing himself as a fighter pilot, until a fateful decision near the end of the war changes the course of his life once again. But many years later, after a stint as a boxer and a failed marriage, Josh finds his calling…at a time when the country is at war with itself. The year is 1968. King and Kennedy have been killed, race riots are breaking out, and Vietnam has become an albatross, causing massive protests across the country. In the streets of San Francisco Josh watches a crowd of students march for peace. As a veteran he’s conflicted, toward the war and those who oppose it. But when he encounters Rosy Goldin, a spirited young protester in need of help, a voice from the past calls him to action. His good intentions are soon tested when Rosy falls in love with the fugitive anti-war activist Erick White, a young man determined to oppose the war at all costs, against the wishes of his own father. Fearful of what happens to Rosy, Josh confronts Erick, unwilling to be part of his plan to escape…until he meets the boy’s father. A high-powered criminal attorney, Karl White is also a flag-waving patriot demanding that his son follow the law. But as White makes his case Josh is jolted by a painful war-time memory, a crisis of conscience that will soon determine the fate of Rosy Goldin and Erick White.
