The barrier which Crystal just broke is a dimension separate from the real world, it is were Azelf hides and looks after the lake, seeing it shatter like a bubble just by the touch of this little pokemon made Azelf cautious for a few seconds.

But it soon calmed down as it noticed Crystal only wants to play, Azelf also joined in and started to play with Crystal.

Crystal started to chase around Azelf as if they are playing a game of tag, this is, of course, being watched by Gengar and all this is being sent to Julian through his mind.

He has read about the lake guardians, these three were also created by Arceus but they cannot access Omniforce but they do seem to be protected by it, that is why Crystal seems attracted to them and anything that they touch, this lake is the home of Azelf so every drop of water has its scent and Crystal feels happy around Omniforce.

Finding Omniforce in other places except around Julian makes Crystal want to explore the area and see who or what could be the reason behind its existence.
