Journey Towards Greatness Chapter 327

Julian called out Manaphy as it is the best pokemon to use to bring down this Gliscor, this Gliscor looks pretty tough so Julian has to be careful and not let Manaphy get too close to him so it can avoid being hit by a powerful physical attack.
The Gliscor looked at his new opponent, he is surprised to see a fresh pokemon who is not tired or fatigued by all the Zubats inside the cave.
All the trainer he faced would have pokemons that were weakened by the Zubats, then he would attack them and steal their backpacks for food and other stuff.
Knowing the battle won't be easy, the Gliscor became serious as well, if things go south he will try to escape, he has known these caves for quite a long time so he knows when and how the wind blows.
Seeing Gliscor is having second thoughts about this battle Julian made his move, he cannot let go of this chance, he has found his last pokemon and he cannot let it run away.
Julian "Manaphy, use Bubble Beam"
Manaphy made the move and sent out a stream of exploding bubbles at Gliscor, seeing the stream of bubbles heading towards him, Gliscor bent to the side to glide sideways and dodge the attack.
Julian 'This one has really learned how to use the wind to control his movement in mid-air'
Even though Gliscors are flying types they are not actual flying pokemon, they use their wings to glide through the air, they have very special wings that can help them glide through even areas which don't have much air.
Gliscor tends to suffer from powerful draft of winds that swirls around tall buildings in cities, that is why they are hardly seen in cities, they don't like being sent flying by strong current of winds, but there are some Gliscors that can use these currents for their advantage, if they learn how to control themselves in these type of updraft they can easily maneuver around cities without problem, they can even go through the harshest winds which normal flying type pokemons will find hard.

Even though the Gliscor in front of Julian showed some good control but he is still not up to the level where he can survive the harsh updrafts that take place between tall buildings and skyscrapers in the city.
Gliscor adjusted himself and used glided towards Manaphy while using Fury Cutter, he crossed his claws and tried to slash Manaphy with it.
Julian "Water Pulse"
Seeing Gliscor tried to directly attack Manaphy Julian too his chance, this is a cave and making a quick turn for Gliscor will be hard for him.
Manaphy did a 360 and created a Water Pulse in front of its antenna and shot it point-blank range at the incoming Gliscor, the Water Pulse landed and caused Gliscor to go down on the ground.
As Julian had expected even though Gliscor saw the incoming attack he couldn't dodge it even if he tried, well if he tried and spun multiple times in a direction, the air pressure he would create would be able to make him get away from the Water Pulse.
Too bad he doesn't have much experience in battles like Manaphy and Julian, with competition like Crystal and Gible, Manaphy also has to keep up its game to be a match to them, Crystal is just broken and Gible is like a sponge who soaks up everything Julian teaches him in one go.
Gliscor gets up by struggling a little and gets back on the air and drifts above the ground and looks at Manaphy with his yellow eyes.
He once again charges at Manaphy and this time he uses X-Scissor.
Julian "Water Pulse again"
Manaphy once aging does a 360 and creates a Water Pulse in front of its antenna and shot it towards Gliscor.
Seeing the incoming Water Pulse, the Gliscor doesn't panic and instead uses Quick attack to increase his speed, he becomes faster and with the help of X-Scissor, he cuts through the Water Pulse and charges towards Manaphy.

Julian is surprised by seeing this, he didn't expect a wild pokemon pull off a move combo, and it is very effective as well, using Quick Attack as a booster for X-Scissor.
Julian "Acid Armor"
Since there is no way to dodge this attack Julian tells Manaphy to pull off a defensive move, a layer of poisonous aura surrounded Manaphy and raised its defense by two stages.
Gliscor landed the X-Scissor on Manaphy, as X-Scissor is a Bug-type move it wasn't much effective against the Acid Armor which has a poisonous nature and with the rise on Manaphy's defense it only received a lite hit.
Julian "Bubble Beam"
Julian called out another move, Manaphy then shot another Bubble Beam at Gliscor and landed it.
Gliscor is sent flying backward and crashed on the ground.
Seeing he has no chance of winning this battle he decides to flee because the next big wind will blow through the cave which will give him the perfect time to make an escape.
Seeing Gliscor so focused but not on his opponent Julian is surprised.
Julian 'What is he waiting for?'
He asked himself when he suddenly felt it, a light breeze on his back, feeling this Julian smiled.
Julian 'So it was thinking of escaping'
Julian realized that Gliscor wanted to use the incoming wind to make a fast escape.
Julian [Manaphy, as soon as the wind hits and Gliscor tries to escape, use Ice Beam on his wings]
Julian sent a telepathic message to Manaphy, Manaphy nodded and waited for the wind to kick in, they didn't have to wait for long because a strong wind blew from behind Julian, feeling the raging wind Gliscor used his wings and spread it wide so that the wind can lift him up and take him away but as soon as he did that, Manaphy sent a powerful Ice Beam at Gliscor which caught him by surprise, the Ice Beam hit his wings and completely froze it, Gliscor fell on the ground as the weight on the solid ice prevented him from gliding.
He also took heavy damage as he is four times weak to Ice-type moves.
Julian "Now is the time"
He said and tossed an empty Pokeball at Gliscor.

The Gambit
The kingdoms have rarely experienced peace, with kings and rulers warring against each other on any percieved slight. With explorers riding the waves to find new lands and merchants eager to set up trade routes while profiting as much as possible. Would the status quo still hold up? The veil is already weakining as more magic and horrors seep through the gap. How would the world deal with the sudden increase in the limited resource of magic? With the times changing, barren lands become trade hubs and the power shifts. The system holding it all together, is in a fragile balance, would a single death break the balance and cause the most devastating war the people have experienced. The direction of the story : The story will not contain any main protagonist, rather multiple protagonists and antagonists with the protagonists having bad some character traits and the antagonists some good ones. I plan to make a story of flawed humans, so if you are looking for OP MCs you would not enjoy it. But I still hope you give it a try. This is my first time writing and I am doing it to get better, so any suggestion or criticism is welcome. I am a university student, so do not expect a robust upload schedule, I'll try to put out 2 chapters a week, but there might be some delays. I apologize for it in advance. P.s. English is not my native language, so there might be some errors, though I tried to mitigate them as much as possible.
