Jackson was still focused look at Jasmine to realise that Catherine had been glancing at him.

I have been having suspicions about Jackson since the day he come up with that ridiculous conditions and the way he stares at Jasmine right now further confirms my doubts.

Catherine thought her gaze still centred on Jackson.

I know he would never admit to having feelings for Jasmine so I will stylishly trick Jeff into revealing the truth to me. I must know what intentions Mr Jackson Smith has towards my best friend.

Catherine concluded her thoughts before she turned to face Jeff who was still bickering at Steve.

"Jeff, what he does with his girlfriend has nothing to do with you? Stop arguing with him anymore," Catherine said as she nudge him by the ribs. Jeff instantly stopped talking the moment Catherine stop speaking.

"Hey guys I will take Jasmine away now," said Jackson as he stood up. He beckoned Jasmine to stand up too.

"What about Cat...,"

"Jeff will take good care of her," said Jackson coolly as he held her hand and pull her up.

"Jack where...,"

"Let them be. Believe me, he won't mistreat her in any way," Jeff said as he held her hand preventing her from standing up.

"How are you so sure of it? Do you have a reason for saying so?" Catherine asked throwing a suspicious glance at him. Jeff turned and stare at Steve with a pleading gaze.

"Jack is a true gentleman, he won't maltreat her in away. Isn't this reason valid?" Steve quickly asked, to the relief of the nervous Jeff.

"But I have this feeling that is not what he meant?" said Catherine not believing Steve's words.

"What could he possibly mean if not the reason I gave you?" Steve asked as he secretly signals Jeff to act normally.

"I have this feeling that you all are hiding something from us. I know Jasmine might not see what I am seeing since she is very close to all of you but honestly I find all of you suspicious," said Catherine honestly as she stare at them suspiciously.

Are we so obvious that she can see through our actions? I am sure Jack is planning to confess his feelings for Jasmine, I wish the two friends do not discover his feelings before his confession.

Steve thought looking very deep in thoughts.

"What do you mean Catherine? What's so suspicious about us?" Steve asked trying so hard to hide his nervousness. Jeff likes talking a lot but in this particular discussion, he remained silent for fear of spilling the truth. Jackson will murder him if he dares make the mistake of revealing that he has always loved Jasmine.

"Everything?" Catherine said firmly.

"The way you all talk. Although the two of you seems to talk a lot, I noticed that never have you both made the mistake of revealing any secret. You both tend to filter your words before you speak. Also, the way you both treat Jasmine is too good to be true. You guys are always cautious around her, always making sure that you don't make her upset. It's as if someone threatened you guys never to annoy her. Everything you both do feel like it was well crafted and calculated," Catherine concluded in a serious tone. The anxious Jeff became even more nervous. He was lost at what to say or do to make Catherine drop this nerve-wracking topic.

Goddamn it! Why did Catherine have to be so smart? She is not only smart but overly cautious. Mere hearing the way she talks and you will know that she has trust issues. I bet she became this suspicious because she has to look out for her best friend.

Steve thought his eyes glued on the beautiful lady glaring at him.

"Why are you both not saying anything?" Catherines asked when none of the guys responded.

"Can't you see how speechless your accusations have left us? We are just too astounded. We dont know where to start defending ourselves," said Steve not knowing what other lies to tell the lady whom he knew very well will not believe whatever he says.

"Say...," Steve's sudden ringing tone prevented her from completing whatever she wanted to say.

Steve only speak few words during his calls. From the few words, he spoke they could not guess what the problem was.

"Guys, sorry but I need to leave now. My Dad's butler called to inform me that my mum fell when climbing down the stairs. Although the injury isn't serious she has been rushed to the hospital so I need to be in the hospital now," Steve said impatiently as he stood up almost immediately.

"What? I am sure she must be in a lot of pain right now," Catherine said, she and Jeff standing up at the same time.

"Steve let's visit her together," said Jeff as he approach Steve who was already at the door.

"You don't have to...,"

"I will come along with you both too," Catherine said calmly as she walked towards the two guys.

"Thank you very much," Steve said appreciatively, leading the way. The three people left the restaurant with fear-stricken hearts. They all hoped that truly the fall wasn't serious like the butler said.

Jeff and Steve did not call Jackson to inform him about the incident. They did not want to ruin his sweet moment with the woman he loves so deeply.

The journey from the restaurant to the hospital only took them ten minutes. After carefully parking their cars, the three young people hurried into the hospital. Because of the information given to him by the butler, they did not need to ask the nurses at the reception for direction.

When they got to the room the scene they met left them astonished. For a minute they could not move or talk.
