"How come you both have become quite smart today...,"

"Are you saying we weren't smart before today?" Jeff asked curiously.

"You said so, not me," Jackson said to the dismay of his friends.

"Jack, what will happen if Aunt realise that the gift you mentioned wasn't a gift but a person...,"

"And that person is no other than the famous Great Seducer, the most famous lady not only in the city but in the country," Jeff added to the displeasure of Steve who didn't like how Jeff was constantly interrupting him.

"What is wrong with introducing Jasmine to her?...,"

"Are you asking us as if you don't know who she has chosen as your future wife? She adores Jane. Everyone in the city is aware of this. Even without the news of your engagement to her, everyone has already considered her as your....,"

"Is it this everyone she is going to get married to or me? What do what others assume matter to me? I make my decisions and no one, not even my mum will detect what I will do, ok?" Jackson interrupts Steve sharply.

"JK, you know how wilful your mum can be. Since childhood she has always said that Jane will become her daughter-in-law so making her change her mind won't be so easy," Jeff said in a serious tone.

"You are right about that and I am certain Aunt is gonna make her move soon. And Aunt is not even the only problem but Jane. You know just how persistent she is. Despite having rejected her so many times she still hasn't given up. Her actions and words made people misinterpret your relationship with her. She did this deliberately to get the public's opinion. She schemed this evil plan in case you one day decide not to marry her," Steve said in a serious tone.

"She can go ahead and keep scheming, when the real boss comes there will be no space for her to stand," Jackson said sternly.

"You...,"

"Right now, I am just anxious as to whether Jasmine will come. She is the only one I want to see. Every other person is not important," Jackson said as he stares at the entrance with longing eyes.

"Yeah, I am also dying to see her. She hasn't answered my calls since that incident," Jeff said absentmindedly.

"Who are you referring to? Catherine?" Steve asked suspiciously.

"Jeff, a piece of friendly advice from me stop thinking so much about her so you won't get your heart shattered again. That you both had sex isn't something special. I mean, you are not her first man so it might have been another casual sex for her. You have been rejected by her before so try very hard to protect your heart from being smashed again," Steve advised in a serious tone.

"Catherine isn't like that. Although I am not her first man, I am sure the intimacy we had held some importance to her...,"

"Stop daydreaming Mr Lover and think straight," Steve rebuked him. Jackson staring keenly at the entrance paid no attention to them. All that was on his mind was to see that beautiful damsel walk in through that door. He continued focusing his gaze on the entrance for a long time.

"Jack, are you expecting someone?" Jackson heard a voice beside him asked. Even without looking, he knew the owner of the voice. Jeff and Steve stopped bickering when they heard the familiar voice. They raised their gaze and stare at her.

"Who could I possibly be waiting for?" Jackson asked not sparing her a glance.

"But you have been staring at the entrance for over ten minutes now. It seems like you were expecting someone. The disappointed look on your face confirms that," Jane said as she sat beside him.

"Do you mean to tell me that you had no better thing to do other than to watch me?" Jackson asked as he shifted his gaze to her.

"No other thing here is better than staring at your handsome face," Jane said as she beamed at him.

"I can't believe she is even hitting on him now. Where did that docile Young Miss Allen go to?" Jeff whispered into Steve's ears.

"Maybe she left it behind with Aunt," Steve said to the amusement of Jeff who chuckled immediately Steve made that silly remark.

"Jack...," Jane paused when she saw Jackson stood up abruptly like hot water was poured on him.

"What is wrong?" Jane asked worriedly thinking that something was wrong with Jackson. Jane, Jeff and Steve quickly followed his line of sight when there saw him smile.

"The Empress of his heart and world is finally here," Jeff remarked smiling at the lady who just stepped into the hall. Her radiant smile was so contagious.

"The Queen of your heart is here, you must be as thrilled as he is," Steve complimented seeing how broadly Jeff was smiling.

"Are you both just gonna stand there and watch them? Won't you both go and escort the beauties to our table? Are you both perhaps waiting for someone else to take them away before you reach there...,"

"No man is gutsy enough to talk to her, have you forgotten that?" Jackson said confidently as he made to walk towards the direction of the ladies. He did not even spare Jane standing beside him a glance. Jane stretched her hand to hold him but unfortunately, she was too late.

"He is damn right about that," Steve mumbled as he stares at the two handsome guys approaching the gorgeous looking ladies who were the centre of attention.

Jasmine who had a beautiful smile on walked confidently with every step calculated. Catherine walking beside her was no different. The arrival of the two popular ladies made everyone forget what they were previously doing. They could not resist staring at the ladies who had captivated their attention.

"Hi," Jackson who just reached them said staring at Jasmine whose smile has never left her face since she stepped her foot.

"Hello, happy anniversary," Jasmine said as she gave him a friendly hug. She pulled away almost immediately.
