The next day Jasmine woke up late in the afternoon with a heavy headache. It was after she had freshened up and drank hangover soup that she recalls that she forgot to call Catherine. The moment she recalled this, she instantly called Catherine's line. The fact that Catherine did not answer her calls after so many attempts she became very worried so she called Steve to find out Jeff's whereabouts.

"Steve where the heck is Jeffrey? Neither he nor Cat has answered my calls, do you know where he is or where he took her to yesterday for her birthday?" Jasmine asked anxiously. Steve working on his laptop quickly dropped his laptop on the centre table.

"Catherine's birthday was yesterday? I did not know and Jeff never mentioned his plans to me," Steve said in a serious tone.

"I tried calling him yesterday night but his line wasn't going through. I had assumed then that maybe he fell asleep early because of fatigue but...,"

"Where the heck did Pretty boy take my Cat to? I will give him a serious beating if I dare set my eyes on him...,"

"Jasmine please calm down, I am sure Jeff will bring her back safe and sound. He knows how scary you can be when provoked so I am sure he will not dare lay a finger on her," Steve quickly defended Jeff.

"I wish he will be as smart as you. Call me if he calls you," Jasmine said before she hangs up the call.

"Where could Cat be that she won't answer...,"

"Cat?" Jasmine remarked the moment she turned to stare at the entrance.

"Cat, what the hell happened to you? Why are you just coming back now and why the hell are your clothes so dirty? What did that jerk do to you?" Jasmine now standing on her feet said as she went over to where Catherine stood. She dragged Catherine to the couch.

"Catherine, did Jeff bullied you, why are you quiet?" Jasmine asked in a worried tone when Catherine did not utter a word.

"He did not bully...,"

"If he didn't then why are your clothes so dirty? And you don't look happy," Jasmine asked looking genuinely concerned.

"He and I had sex last night that is why I look this way," Catherine announced to the shock of the once worried Jasmine.

"You did what?" Jasmine asked retracting her hand which was previously on Catherine's back.

"Didn't you hate the idea of going out with him yesterday so how did you both end up having sex?" Jasmine asked looking confused and surprised.

"It wasn't planned, Jasmine. We just felt too cold to the point that we couldn't resist getting very close to each other," Catherine explained in a calm tone.

"I know it rained yesterday but wasn't there a hotel for you guys to stay or even the car so why did you say it was cold...,"

"That is because we were trapped in a shabby farmhouse where there was no heater or anything to keep us warm," Catherine said seriously.

"You were trapped in a farmhouse? How and where was that?" Jasmine asked. Catherine's words made her even more confused.

Catherine patiently began narrating what happened on their outing the previous day.

After they got to the field of flowers they had walked around the field while taking pictures. They admired the beauty of the field for so many minutes. After about an hour they had found a suitable place to stay and eat the food Jeff had brought in his lunchbox. They sat down and ate after Jeff had prepared an area for them to sit down.

They were too engrossed eating to realised the sudden change in the weather. When they had noticed the darkened cloud it was too late because almost immediately rain began to pour down. Since their car was parked far away Jeff suggested they hide inside the small brick farmhouse until the rain subsided.

When Jeff saw the state of the farmhouse he suggested they somehow find their way to their car under the heavy downpour but Catherine decline his offer.

"If you are worried about me then you don't have to be. I am fine and I am sure the rain will stop soon. We will leave here in no time so let's just manage it for a while," The partially drenched Catherine said as she walked into the littered uncemented ground. Jeff hesitated to enter the unkempt place since he hasn't been in this kind of place before.

"Come in. You are not gonna die from staying here for a few minutes so don't worry," Catherine said as she beckoned him to enter the house which only has one room. He reluctantly entered the house.

"Catherine, are you sure you are ok with staying here...,"

"I am fine," Catherine said as she turns to stare at the guy standing beside her. Seeing water dripping from his wet hair, she brought the clothing close to his hair.

"You are wet, clean your hair with this," Catherine said as she extends her right hand. Jeff stared at the clothing in her hand. It was the same clothing they had sat on earlier.

"I am fine. You are wet too so use it to dry your hair...,"

"Stop acting cool and just use it. You will develop a fever if you continue acting stubborn," Catherine said as she used the clothes to dry his hair and clothes. When she was done the clothing was too wet for her to use.

The rain the two people had thought would only last for at least thirty minutes exceeded an hour, then three hours. By this time everywhere was dark and the previously vibrant Catherine has started shivering.

Jeff on seeing this quickly gathered the straws lying on the floor. He placed it close to the wall so they can sit down on it.

"Jeff, turn off your flashlight or your battery is going to run low," the shivering Catherine said with gritted teeth.
