"I am sure that will happen soon," Elizabeth said sounding optimistic.

"Why do you say that? Did you both settle your quarrel?" Jasmine asked curiously.

"Yes, and he even agreed to go on the trip with me...,"

"Wow, congratulations. I am happy for you," Jasmine said smiling broadly at Elizabeth.

"You are coming on the trip with us right?" Elizabeth asked ignoring her congratulatory words. She knew that there was a lot to do for her relationship with her husband to progress to the next level.

"I don't know...,"

"Don't even say that, Jasmine. Don't forget you promised you would come. If you dare go back on your words I will immediately cancel the trip," Elizabeth threatened firmly.

"Just tell me the date and the location and I will clear off my schedule before then," Jasmine quickly agreed on seeing that Elizabeth was dead serious about cancelling the trip.

"Now you are talking," Elizabeth said beaming. The two sisters continue to talk. While they were busy talking they did not realise that it had begun to rain. None of them expected that it will rain since the weather forecast did not mention that it was going to rain today.

Some minutes later, a maid came to inform them that dinner was ready. Not wanting to keep the elders waiting the four of them went downstairs for dinner.

At the dining table, everyone just ate quietly. Jasmine ate only a little. The way she ate showed that she did not have an appetite. The only reason she forced herself to eat despite not having an appetite was so as not to make her mother worried.

Jasmine heaved a sigh of relief the moment her mum dropped her spoon on the table. Without wasting any time she dropped her spoon too on the table.

What a suffocating meal that was?

Jasmine thought as she stood up from the chair. She left the dining table before any other person.

Sitting on the brown couch Jasmine patiently waited for everything to settle down first. About ten minutes later Jasmine stood up with her handbag in her hands.

"Mum, sorry but I have to leave now. I have some other very important appointment to catch up to," Jasmine standing beside where her mum was sitting said in a serious tone.

"Won't you sleepover, it has been a long...,"

"Mum, it's not that I don't want to sleep over but the problem is, I can't. I have a prior appointment and I must be there," Jasmine reemphasised. She avoided staring at her father sitting on the opposite couch.

Seeing that her second daughter was bent on leaving, Mrs Avans stood up to hug her.

"Jasmine take good care of yourself. And also stop trying to go against your father," Mrs Avavns said as she embraced Jasmine.

"We will see to that," Jasmine replied nonchalantly before she pulled out of her embrace.

"Behave yourself out there. I assure you that I will not only dissolve your company but I will also disown you if you cause any trouble ever again," Mr Avans threatened coldly.

The others sitting at another side of the room on hearing that Jasmine was leaving also went to bid Mr and Mrs Avans farewell.

Outside the mansion on seeing that Jasmine wanted to go in her car, Kai quickly offered to drive her home. After some minutes of reluctance, Jasmine entered his car. She bade farewell to Lizzy and her husband before their car drove away.

Inside the car, Jasmine who was quiet all this while turned to face Kai whose eyes was focused on the road. Because of the heavy downpour, visibility was poor

"Kai, about the scene you met earlier, I would really appreciate it if you don't tell anyone about it," Jasmine said in a serious tone.

"I know what to say and what not to say so you need not worry. Every family has their drama. In a family setting misunderstandings are bound to happen, nobody can claim that his/her family is perfect because that is a big fat lie," Kai said as he took a glance at her before he focused his eyes on the road again.

"It is good that we are on the same page," Jasmine replied before she turned and stare outside. She avoided staring and talking to him until they reached her mansion.

When he reached her house Kai had thought that she would invite him inside since it was raining heavily but the heartless Jasmine did not spare him a glance.

If it was on a normal occasion Jasmine would have definitely invited him in but her temper wasn't at its best. After what transpired between her and her father, Jasmine wasn't in her right senses.

Kai drove away after making sure that she has entered the house.

The moment she entered the sitting room, she ordered Felicia to get two bottles of wine and a glass. At first, Felicia refused to obey her but she had no choice but to obey her when the usual calm Jasmine gets furious with her. Seeing the swell on her face Felicia needs no one to tell her why Jasmine was furious.

Jasmine drank until she got drunk. Because of the state she was in, she completely forgot to call Catherine. Later the worried Jackson called her but she did not answer the line. After so many times of calling her, Jackson became scared that something terrible had happened to her.

"Why isn't she answering her goddamn phone?" Jackson said as he threw his cellphone on the floor. The screen of the phone broke.

While Jackson was so worried about Jasmine, she on the other hand was busy drowning her sorry in the alcohol.

"When Father said he wanted me to marry Kai even though I disliked the idea I still wanted to go ahead with the marriage but after what he did today, I will never marry Kai. I will make sure I ruin this marriage he so much wants to take place. My name will no longer be Jasmine Avans if I let my father have his way," the drunk Jasmine said fiercely before she began drinking again.
