"Good evening mum, dad," Alfred greeted as he went to hug Mrs Avans whose sweet smile was so inviting. It was as if seeing her son-in-law made her forget the earlier drama.

The now slightly coolheaded Mr Avans responded to Alfred's greetings. He was surprised to see Kai standing beside him. Earlier he was too angry to see that Kai was there.

"Good evening Uncle and Aunt," Kai remarked to the surprise of the angry Jasmine who wasn't aware that Kai was in the company of her sister and brother-in-law. Jasmine surprised expression vanished just like it came.

"You are welcome to our home," Mrs Avans replied with smiles on her face.

"Jasmine, let's go put ice on your face so it won't swell," Elizabeth said in low tones as she stares at Jasmine's reddened cheeks.

"Getting rid of the swell won't get rid of the pain or the burning anger inside of me so why should I bother?" Jasmine said before she walked towards the stairs.

"Mum, Dad, we will check up on the ladies and make sure they are ok?" Alfred said before he and Kai followed the ladies. The moment they left, Mrs Avans turned to face her husband.

"Sweetheart, why did you have to slap her like that? I have advised you on so many occasions to try and keep your temper in check when she is around but you just won't listen," Mrs Avans scolded sternly.

"She said he was a friend so you shouldn't have doubted her," Mrs Avans added.

"Should I tell the butler to bring the pictures of all the men she was captured acting intimately with? Were all those her friends too? Are the entire men in Central City my second daughter's friend?" Mr Avans asked angrily.

"She is soon going to become a married woman, can't she act responsibly for once? How does she want her inlaws to treat her after she gets married with the way she is misbehaving now?" Mr Avans asked his pitch rising at every interval to show how upset he was.

"Sweetheart, you know how willful Jasmine is. She said she doesn't want to get married to the Young Master of Allen family, so how about you let her have her way this once. She is just going to turn 25 years soon, so even though she can't get married this year she can get married next year. Succumbing to her demands this once is better than making her cause trouble," Mrs Avans said in a serious tone. She knows how stubborn Jasmine can be. Mrs Avans knows that instead of obeying her father, his attitude will force Jasmine into rebelling and she did not want this to happen. She can't watch her family turn into a warzone again.

"Because she is at her prime we should let her do whatever she wants? Will you be able to take responsibility if she continues rejecting her suitors until she is 50 years old?" Mr Avans said as he tried to keep his temper in check.

"And did you say we should give her a chance?" Mr Avans asked as he stares at his wife sitting opposite him.

"We should give her a chance to ruin her life more than she has already done? If that is what you want then sorry I can't consent to it. I won't sit down and watch my daughter ruin her life because of a man who never deserves her or her love. I will never do that," Mr Avans said vehemently.

"The two of you are just too stubborn, like father like daughter. The daughter is hellbent on ruining her life while the father who acts like he doesn't care is hellbent on saving her from destruction. Even though he loves her so much, he doesn't let it show because he is afraid that showcasing his love will make him softhearted," Mrs Avans said as she stares at her furious husband.

"Sweetheart, tell me when are you gonna stop making Jasmine misunderstand your concern for hatred?" Mrs Avans asked seriously.

"Until the day she stops hurting herself for that good for nothing boy," Mr Avans said unwaveringly.

Back in Jasmine's room, while the ladies sit on the huge princess bed the guys sat on the pink couch.

Kai let his eyes wander around the room. This was his first time seeing what her room looks like. She has never invited him to her home neither to her parent's house since the announcement of their engagement. They are a couple but just by name. The truth is they don't know anything about each other. He doesn't know her favourite dishes, colour, movie or places. Each time they go out on a date Jasmine was always in a hurry to leave and even when he manages to ask her personal stuff, she will always find a way to evade his question.

That is why right now he was surprised to see that the design of her room was pink and white. He knew that most ladies love pink but he did not know that a sophisticated lady like Jasmine will love pink colour too.

Does that mean her favourite colour is pink?

Kai thought as he stares at the portrait hanging on the wall just opposite where he was sitting.

"That was Jasmine when she was little. Doesn't she look so beautiful and cute?" Alfred asked staring at the girl wearing a pink princess gown and a crown on her head. One look at the smiling girl in the picture and you will see that her older self did not do plastic surgery. She is a natural beauty and no one can deny that fact.

"You are right about that. Her beautiful Sapphire eyes speak of innocence unlike the eyes of the adult Jasmine who speaks the opposite," Kai replied his eyes glued on the picture.

"Actually dude my sister-in-law is not bad as she always tries to portray. Although she was born and bred in such a wealthy family, her attitude and personality speak otherwise. She is the nicest and the most jovial socialite I have ever met. Any man who gets married to her will never regret it that is why you are lucky," Alfred said as he shifted his gaze to Kai's face.

"I am not telling you how wonderful she is because she is related to my wife but I am telling you this out of the experience. She and I are quite close. Believe me, if Jasmine had been the first person I met I wouldn't have hesitated to fall madly in love with her. I am not trying to say that I regret marrying my wife but I am trying to tell you how wonderful of a person she is. When you finally become her husband, I can assure you that you will be spoiled rotten by her, I promise you," Alfred said as he tapped Kai by the shoulders.

"Since you know a lot about her, do you mind telling me more about her?" Kai asked in a polite tone.

"Sure, it's my pleasure," Alfred said smiling. Elizabeth watching the guys was so happy to see them get along so well.

"The guys seem to be getting along well," Elizabeth remarked as she shifted her gaze to Jasmine.

"Jasmine, are you sure you don't want to put ice on your cheek, it has begun swelling," Elizabeth said worriedly as she raised her hand to touch Jasmine's bruised right cheek.

"Lizzy, forget about my face and tell me why he was with you guys earlier," Jasmine said as she stole a glance at Kai talking to Alfred.

"We met him outside the mansion. I did not have the chance to ask him why he was here before the scene we met earlier," Elizabeth explained.

"Ok, then what were you and Alfred doing here? Did father also invite you and Alfred here?" Jasmine asked curiously.

"No, but Catherine did," Elizabeth replied to the surprise of Jasmine.

"Cat called you?" Jasmine asked suspiciously.

"Yeah, she called me yesterday. She was afraid that something terrible might happened to you if you visited the mansion alone. Judging from her tone, I could tell that she wouldn't have called me if she had another choice. Just to save you she let go of her anger for me even though it was just for a few minutes," Elizabeth said with a voice filled with so much admiration.

"That is how she normally is. She gets too worried in anything concerning me...,"

"That shows that she cares about you a lot. That is what a true friend is for. They will never forsake you. Catherine has done these so many times for you. This is to show that she is a true friend," Elizabeth interrupted her sharply.

"I wish they would come a day you and your husband will be the same way towards each other. I wish a day that you both will become not only a real couple but true friends will come," Jasmine said with a fallen expression.

I have never promised my readers such a massive mass release before so this is not only a challenge for you guys only but also for me.
