Even after asking her mum to talk to her Father about the issue, Catherine also pleaded with Mrs Avans to reconsider the marriage but the mother dismissed the case after saying that her father arranged the marriage for Jasmine's sake.

"Because of my personality, I have always had my way since I was a child. as long as I would get what I want I did not care whether I get locked up in my room for three days without food or get repeatedly hit by Father but this time around whether or not I like the marriage idea, I am still gonna get married," Jasmine said as she picked the bottle of whiskey and drank from the bottle.

Seeing the once lively Jasmine like this made their heartache on her behalf.

She continued drinking for a few minutes. When she noticed how strangely they were staring at her she beamed at them.

"I can't believe I let my mood ruin such an important gathering when I should be rocking the night for the success of my new game. I must have gone crazy for a minute to let myself get affected by such a trivia thing," Jasmine said with a huge sense of humour. The manner she talked made the others chuckle.

"Ice Prince, why are you staring at me like that? don't tell me you wanna scold me too as Cat did for drinking so much this early," Jasmine who just noticed the way Jackson was staring at her asked as places her right hand on his cheek.

"Do you find me unattractive for acting this way?" Jasmine asked as she stared into his eyes which never left her body.

"Anyways why worry about you finding me less attractive when you have never found me attractive even once," Jasmine said as she made to pull away but Jackson's next words made her change her mind.

"I have no intention of scolding you and you look charming even when you act this way. There is no moment I have ever thought that you have lost your charms," Jackson said as he continues staring at her eyeballs. He wished she could see his feelings through his intense gaze which was burning just for her.

"I wish you were the one I met back then. Maybe the ending would have been less painful," Jasmine whispered back in low tones as she stared into his eyes she has come to love so much. Jackson who was staring at her could see and even feel the pain in her voice and tone.

"What ending would have been different? Did a guy perhaps hurt you in the past which is why you are this way? What exactly did the jerk do to make you turn yourself into this? " Jackson asked curiously. He silently prayed she would answer his question this time around.

"I am Jasmine Avans, the most dreaded woman in the City, which man in this city or world would dare to break that non-existent heart of mine?" Jasmine asked smiling wickedly. The sadness in her eyes was gone just like it came. She pulled away from him afterwards.

Jackson just stares at the lady whom he knows was just pretending to be fine.

Jasmine I know today July 1st is a day you will never forget but for how long are you gonna let yourself get hurt because of him? When are you gonna move on from that painful past that shattered you, your world and your beliefs? I know it is hard to move on but isn't it time you start living for yourself? The jerk is out there enjoying his life so why did the innocent you have to suffer for his mistake.

Catherine thought as she stared at Jasmine who was gulping down the content of the bottle like she was drinking water. She only gets to see Jasmine act this way once in a year but her heart always hurts for her sake each time this day reaches.

If she is hurting this much I wonder how she managed to stay sane during the preparation for the launch event that happened four days ago?

Catherine thought her gaze still glue on Jasmine.

"Hi Cat, how are you? It seemed like you are very upset with us, did we do something to upset you in any way?" Jeff asked in low tones so that he won't disturb Jasmine and Jackson's moment.

"I recall on the trip that Steve and I did everything to make you comfortable but if we perhaps did anything wrong, tell us. Although we are young masters of prominent households, that doesn't stop us from apologising if we have wronged someone," Jeff said in a very gentle tone.

"Firstly I hate the way you all are getting so close to Jasmine. She never treated you both nicely in the past so why are you both doing everything to please her. To me, it seems like you guys have a bad intention towards her...,"

"Cat, you know...,"

"It's is Catherine, we are not that close so don't address me by my pet name," Catherine interrupted sternly.

"Catherine, you know that what you are saying is not true. In the past, I admit I did not like Jasmine so much but I admired her beauty and outgoing personality a lot. We all treat her nicely now because we consider her as a friend and not because we have ill intentions towards her," Jeff explained. Steve who could not participate in the conversation because of his position quickly changed position. He went to sit down beside Catherine at the other end.

"Secondly, I hate the fact that you both deceived my best friend. Back when she followed you guys about you knew her identity but you all pretended not to know...,"

"Because that is what we thought she would have wanted. Since when she introduced herself to us, she never told us her surname, we thought she had her reasons that is why we played along. Can you imagine how embarrassing it would have been for her if we disclosed that we knew her identity when it was crystal clear she did not want us to know that?" Steve asked in a serious but low tone.
