"The first thing I look for in a man is whether he is faithful or not. The guy who still mourns his late fiancee even though it has been over a year is a perfect example of a faithful man but too bad the one he yearns for is a dead woman which I can't compete against. He would have been the perfect one for me if he was not beyond my reach," Jasmine said in a calm tone.

"Why do you have one thing or the other to say to discredit all the suitors I choose for you?" Mrs Avans asked her pitch rising higher to shows that she was angry. "Is there really something wrong with all the suitors I have chosen for you or are you doing all this because of him?" Mrs Avans asked. Her fury made her momentarily forget that Jasmine hates talking about him.

"Mum, I will very much appreciate it if you don't mention his name ever in my presence," Jasmine said fiercely as she stood up from the couch almost immediately.

"If he is not the reason you are acting like this then why are you so reluctant to get into any relationship? Do you want to live single all your life just because a man...,"

"Mum...," Jasmine shouted angrily. Her mum kept quiet when she saw how furious the usual calm and loving Jasmine is.

"Mum, I am exhausted from having to work all day. I wish you won't snatch away the period I supposed to use to rest," Jasmine said as she walks over to her white wardrobe on the left-hand side of the room. The only clothes that could be seen in the wardrobes were only her different colours of pyjamas and different colours of towels neatly arranged in the wardrobe. The colour of towels she uses depends on her mood each day and her employees know that.

"What about the suitors I choose for you? Won't you at least choose one of them so that all my efforts won't be in vain?" The now cool-headed Mrs Avans asked calmly.

"I choose the last one. That is, the good for nothing man. It is much earlier to deal with him than the others," Jasmine said as she walks into the bathroom after having changed her clothes.

"Jasmine, are you sure he is the one you want? In my opinion, the others are far better than him," Mrs Avans said unhappily.

Does mum actually think I choose him because I want to get married to him? Hell no! I choose him because it is easy to deal with him. After our first meeting, I can come up with so many reasons why I don't think he is the right man for the Second daughter of the Avans Group.

Jasmine said smirking devilishly as she shut the door of the bathroom.

"Ok, since you choose him I won't object. I will send you the venue of your meeting with him tomorrow morning. Don't forget to check your chats," Mrs Avans said smiling happily. Although the man she wanted to be her son-in-law wasn't the one Jasmine choose she was still so happy that her stubborn daughter decided to go on a blind date with someone.

I have promised myself six years ago that I will never waste my emotions on any man ever again and I will stick to that promises.

Jasmine standing under the running shower thought. While saying these inwardly, her expression grew cold.

The next day, Jackson waited for Jasmine's office phone calls but no phone calls from her office came. Throughout the day, his Secretary did not receive any phone calls coming from her office. Since Jasmine office has been bugging his office with numerous phone calls, Jackson became so worried when Jasmine secretary did not bombard their phones with calls that day.

Because of his anxiety, he dropped by at Steve's Mansion for a drink. Fortunately for him, Jeff was also at Steve's Mansion.

"Why hasn't she called yet? It has been 22 hours 35 minutes 15 seconds since we last met so why hasn't she stalked me as she did for the past week?" Jackson asked unhappily. They could see sadness all over his face as he talks. It was difficult for Jackson to show his feeling and now that he did, they were slightly concerned to see him so anxious and sad.

"Maybe she did not call because she has lost interest in you. Maybe you went too extreme with your actions last night. Your words and actions might have left a stain on her ego that is why she doesn't want to see you again," Jeff put out his own opinion.

"Even though she does not have any interest in me yet, the contract is very important to her. It is her only guarantee to save her company from her dad's clutches so judging from her temperament she would never give up so easily in the contract," Jackson analysed.

"Maybe she is also ignoring you just like you did. I mean what kind of punishment will be worst than making the man whom you have stirred his heart yearns for you?" Steve asked staring at Jackson's sad expression.
