Heavenly Monarch Chapter 163

Ray could feel his inside screaming in pain from the attack he received from the demon as he got up from the ground while taking out his other sword.
"I don't think we will be able to beat this thing if we don't use any of our moves" said Ray as he swings his swords in two different directions only to miss the target.
"Our main priority here is to find a way out of this place and not to gain more attention from those demons nearby" replies Ellis who is finding it difficult to keep up with the demon movement.
"And how are we supposed to do that when this demon is on our tail" asked Jenny.
"Don't even think you will be able to escape from me" said the demon with an evil chuckle.
"I believe there is no need in saying the plan in front of this demon, so we will have to do things through our actions" reply Ellis to Jenny's question even though he has not come up with any ideas on how they could leave the place.
"Since you don't want to say anything, that will make the little game of ours interesting, I guess I will just have to torture you all after you've drained yourself of your spiritual energy and let me tell you something you don't know, in here you won't be able to cultivate since there is no spiritual energy in this place" said the demon.
When Ellis heard the demon saying, he smiles as he turns to the two who were now standing close to him as he said in a joyful tone.
"Don't hold anything back, let's see if this demon can really take us on".
Not understanding why Ellis is telling them to attack without reserving their energy really shocks them as they turn to give him a meaningful look.
"Don't worry guys, I know what I am doing" said Ellis seeing the way they are looking at him as a fool.
Putting their trust in him since whenever he did act like this means he has come up with a plan that will be effective against the demon. Not thinking much about the bad side, they rush at the demon while cloaking the weapons with energy since they can't use their skill.

"I see you guys don't believe my words, very well have a taste of our demon energy" said the demon as it tail at them when he saw them coming.
Ellis ducked while Jenny and Ray jump over as they both slash their swords on the demon's tail before could take it back. The demon hiss in pain as its tail was chopped off with its eyes glowing red.
"You are all going to pay for that" roared the demon in anger before going after them like a barbarian.
"I think we have awakened the beast" said Ellis in shock as he took a defensive stance.
"You think, I thought it was like a kid that has lost his candy" joke Ray.
"Seriously man, where are you picking all these strange words from" asked Ellis and he turned to take a look at Ray.
"Never mind you still won't understand if I were to tell you" reply Ray with a smile.
"Stay focus guys its almost getting close to us" warned Jenny.
"Alright, guys let's get too busy. Remember to use all you got but keep some portion of your energy lock-up" said Ellis.
"Oh, so we are going to fake being out of energy so that we can attack it where it list expected it right" asked Ray after catching on to the plan.
"Yes but remember to keep it alive since we still don't know how to get out of this place" replied Ellis.
"Of course I know about that" said Ray.
Nodding at the two since they already know what the plan is, they won't have any problem taking the demon down.
Rushing at the demon with their full force although it was not actually their full force but it is to the demon as they clash and intense combat begins between both sides as they didn't hold anything back, letting the demon have a taste of what they are capable of but at the same time keeping it a minimum where it won't draw the attention of the other demon.
After fighting the demon for some time, the team was able to leave a lot of scars on its body but their state was not pleasing as they could be seen breathing like slaves that have been working for a long time without taking a break. Seeing them out of breath, the demon couldn't help but smile as it begins to head towards them while ignoring the pain it was going through.

"It seems to me that you have all used up your spiritual energy. I tried telling you but you refuse to listen, oh well what can I say at least now I can eat my meal without any resistance" said the demon with a smile on its face.
Whenever the demon would make an advance forward, Ray and the others will take a step back as they begin to distance themselves from it even though they are exhausted. The demon didn't mind as it still has the smile it faces as it continues to go after them even though they are refusing to give up.
"Do you know the kind of meal I love the most" asked the demon as it continues to follow them around.
The group chooses to ignore it question as they continue to step back.
Seeing that they did not reply to his question didn't sadden the demon but instead, it makes it happier as it replied to its own question.
"A meal that still thinks there is hope even when they know there is none".
"Oh yeah, and what makes you think we don't have any hope of leaving this dam world" asked Ray.
"There is no way a beast that has lost it while limbs in a fight would be able to avoid death and the same could be said about you humans so quit all this struggling and just lay down let me feast on you before the other would come" reply the demon as it begins to play with its sharp nails while exposing its fangs for them to see.
"Even though we are all going to die, I still refuse to lay down my arms" said Ellie with fire burning in his eyes.
Not bothering to waste much time since things won't be good if it brothers were to see him having all three humans to itself, the demon punch Ellis on the stomach which pulled him back as he was already out of strength while spitting out a mouthful of blood before falling to the ground.
"Now let's see if you still have the energy to get back on your feet and don't you too worry, it going to be your turn soon enough" said the demon in joy as it turns to give Ray and Jenny a look
Making an advancement to the fallen Ellis, the demon was just about to lay its hand on Ellis only for Ray to attack the demon from behind but the demon easily knocked him to the ground as it said playfully.
"I said you should what for your turn why been in haste to die".
Ellis was quite angry at Ray but when he looked at him and saw that he was still keeping his energy hidden.
"Why the hell did you do that you fool" whisper Ellis.
"How can you be having all the fun while we stood there and just watch" reply Ray.
"You mean to say you attack that thing just so you could get hit" asked Ellis in surprise.
"Yes, although the hit was strong but it is still within my endurance" reply Ray with a smile on his face.
"I can see that you two are already saying your last wishes to each other, don't worry I am going eat you little by little so you have enough time to continue with your wishes" said the demon with a smile on its face.
"I wish we could have more time to spend in the pub before we breathe our last but it seems like that won't be possible now" said Ray as he continued to fake crying.
"Why are you crying now" asked Ellis as he looked at Ray stunned.
"Ain't we still faking it or are we attacking now" replies Ray as he stops faking.
"Of course we are not faking it anymore" said Ellis as he got up from the ground and punch the demon in the face as it was sent flying but before it could go far, Jenny has already it back towards where Ellis and Ray were standing.
Flying to the ground, the first thing the demon did was raised its head as it started at the two people that were under its mercy not quite long to be standing by more spiritual energy.
"How could this be possible" said the demon.

Legendary Farmer (available on Kindle July 2022!)
NOTE: Legendary Farmer is now COMPLETE. The first book, Clearing, was released on Kindle Unlimited July 5, 2022 with significant edits. I will post the first chapter of Clearing, as well as three chapters of Cuckoo's Dream, another novel in the LF universe, as a stub, with a link to the first book, so if you love LF and want me to be able to keep writing consistently, please go give Clearing five stars! In the VRMMORPG, Veritas Online, things are getting a little stale. Since the game launched, only one world- wide event has occurred, and that was a year ago.. The players are still having fun, but everyone agrees it’s about time for something big to happen. Everybody tends to forget that big things grow from small things, and little things are always changing in Veritas. The human country of Quarternell is at peace for the first time in... ever. Aspen, a former war hero, feels like he’s earned a quiet life together with his animal companions. They’re tired of fighting, and other people in general. They plan to live peacefully, far away from the city. As soon as Aspen figures out this farming thing out, he’s never going to go anywhere again. Unfortunately for Aspen, his country and his goddess aren’t quite done with him yet.Rouge the Rogue is a casual gamer in Veritas Online. She’s just a kid, and her focus is supposed to be on school and hanging out with friends. Emphasis on ‘supposed to’. She’s already pretty good at the school thing, and she doesn’t actually have that many friends. What she really loves is exploring all the cool ways the developers of Veritas found to make their game unique and realistic. Then she’s offered a very special quest, and an opportunity to go beyond the average player. She’s never been that much of a rule follower anyway....Clearing is appropriate for most ages. It has minimal foul language, no sex, and some violence. It is LGBTQ+ friendly. (P.S. IMPORTANT! This book contains very mild profanity, no sex, and is meant to be FUN. Yes, the characters sometimes think Deep Thoughts, and idealism pretty much runs rampant, but, in the end, I hope you just enjoy reading it. Laugh, cry, share it with your kids, read it to your dog, whatever makes you happy. My goal is for it to be accessible to everyone from ages 12ish on up, so you could definitely consider it YA, but with lots of big words because I don't believe in talking down to my readers.) Book Two: Harrowing (Starts after the original Chapter Fifty, now Sixteen, since I condensed chapters from the same perspective together.) Zoey has started her summer internship at Veritas Corporation, and she can honestly say that being an adult is boring. Until she starts learning secrets she was never supposed to know. In game, Rouge is finally making progress on her big quest. Apparently Duke Penbrooke took too long to return to the world, so the world is coming to get him... in the form of a few assassins. Aspen is going to have to face the life he left behind, and deal with the fact that it's not as easy being 'dead' as he thought. When what he'd hoped would be a short trip back to civilization to resupply turns into a whole lot more, he'll have to fight for his life, his friends, and his kingdom. Book Three: Sowing Rouge and Aspen have reached Bright, only to find that their enemies were already expecting them. They will have to quickly unravel the mysteries of who their opponents actually are, because they're already ten steps behind. Rouge and Aspen are finally home, but that doesn't mean they can return to their peaceful days of farming. Their enemies are hot on their heels and determined to destroy everything they've managed to achieve. Join them and all their friends for the final volume of Legendary Farmer.

Mistbound: Eternity
The world is said to be formed out of duality of man. Good and evil, right and wrong, light and dark. And with duality, comes conflict. A meaningless clash of ideals results in pointless wars. Azlan is wanderer who doesn't falls in either category. Tired and done with the redundant world, he lives his secluded life, hunting monstrosites for coin in the crumbling province of Mountaliya, situated in the land of Forsa. The premise follows Azlan as he explores the province, experiencing the culture and its people as they try to stand unshaken amidst a cold and unforgiving world. The story is a dark fantasy that is a balance of action and world building but most importantly, it follows the people going about their daily lives. The world has entered a state of stasis, there are no high stakes, no glory to be had, only a decaying realm of ice remains. Everyone awaits for Heaven's descent, an event prophesied to bring the world out of stasis, by granting the champion of the event a wish. Heaven Shall Descend. I wanted to write a high fantasy story that doesn't focuses too much on Magic and Swordfights, but rather interactions between people, a bit of politics and ideals. This is my first attempt at writing something this huge, please let me know if you see mistakes or any problems in general, so I can learn from them. (The cover picture is from the year 1818, "Wanderer Above the Mist" by Caspar David Friedrich). I also write Short stories set in the same shared universe. You can read them here: Dark Fantasy Short Stories.
