Heavenly Monarch Chapter 144

After going through the portal, Ray was brought to a room. But unlike the previous one, this one was filled with words all over the wall, and on the far end was a throne which was occupied by a hooded. Taking a look at the place, Ray proceeds forward, and before he could get to where the hooded man was the same mysterious voice.
"Welcome, now your second trial will commence"
"In other to proceed to the next trial, you will have to defeat your enemy in the game of riddle," said the mysterious voice.
"Shit, come on man, why can't we just continue with the fighting instead of a game of riddle," asked Ray as he raised his head high up as if he was seeing the owner of the voice.
"The trial will begin the moment you take your seat, so taking your time to prepare for the trial," said the mysterious voice as he ignored Ray's question.
Not even bothering to listen to the mysterious voice advice, Ray walk forward and took his seat as he stared at the hooded person before him.
"Let the trial begin, and remember you cant get up from your seat unless the winner has already been decided," said the mysterious voice and there was no longer any word from it.
Ray stared at the person on the hood as he tried to see who was behind but was unable to see who it was. Looking at the hood feels like he was looking at a void, taking his gaze off the hood, Ray cleared as he was about to ask his question but before he could, a deep voice rang out from the hood.
"If you eat me, my sender will eat you. What am I," asked the person on the hood.
Ray wore a wide smile on his face as he said.
"What an easily riddle that is, it a fishhook of course"
"Your turn," said the hooded person.
"Hmm, here is my riddle for you. What can run but never walks, has a mouth but never talks, has a head but never weeps, has a bed but never sleeps" asked Ray.
"A river" replied the hooded person.
"Ah, this is going to be a difficult trial," said Ray with a sigh.
"The more you take the more you leave behind. What am I" asked the hooded person.

"A feet step"replied Ray.
"What belongs to you but other people use it more than you," asked Ray.
"Your name" replied the hooded person
They continue with the game for a very long time with no one missing the answer and Ray was already getting tired of all the stress he has being through whole thinking of a riddle that the hooded person can't answer but he was unable to figure anything out. And that when the hooded person asked him a riddle and he answered correctly after cracking his brain but it was his turn to ask but he doesn't know what to say that can also be understood by the hood person, and that's when an idea hit him.
'What is the need of bothering myself if he can't answer my riddle, as long as he can't find a reasonable answer then I will be considering the winner' Ray thought to himself.
"A doctor and a bus driver are both in love with the same woman, an attractive girl named Anna. The bus driver had to go on a long bus trip that would last a week. Before he left, he gave Anna seven apples. Why? Asked Ray after thinking for a while and came up with a riddle that he had heard on television.
The hooded person went silent after Ray said his riddle and was just muttering to himself trying to get the answer but was not able to figure something out and seeing the hooded person like this without saying anything, Ray smiled as he knew he has already won the riddle which means he has passed the 2nd trial.
"I don't know the answer to your riddle so you win," said the hooded person.
And Ray was just about to stand to celebrate his victory but before he could even jump up, the hooded man said again.
"But I can only agree to have lost to you if you tell me the answer"
"That won't be a problem, the reason why the bus driver gives Anna the apples was because An apple a day keeps the doctor away" replied Ray with a smile.
"An apple a day keeps the doctor away" mutter the hooded person as he still doesn't understand the answer.
Ray did not care if the hooded person understood it or not as he asked.
"So do you finally accept your defeat"

"I lose fair and square so you can leave" replied the hooded person as he begins to fade away.
" you can use that riddle to defeat your opponent and I won't mind at all, so feel free to," said Ray proudly as he watches the hooded person fade away.
"Congratulations on passing your second test, you may now go through that door and proceed to the next trial," said the mysterious voice after the hooded person has completely faded away.
After the mysterious voice has spoken, the system notification also came in.

"Haha, this is awesome, one more trial, and I will be able to level up once more," said Ray excited as he begins to walk towards the door that appears out of nowhere.
After crossing through the door, a figure appears out of nowhere as it stood in the room that Ray has just left as it sat on the throne while playing with his breast. This figure looks identical to the statue at the trial entrance.
"That kid was still able to pass through the riddle trial and I thought it was brainless after watching him fight the demon. Let's see if he would be able to pass the 3rd trial" said the mysterious voice as it disappears out of the room instantly without any delay.
Meanwhile, Jenny and Ellis were still busy with the riddles question and won't be done anything soon since the opponent seen to know it all making it difficult for them to raise on top and if Ellis and Jenny were to know that Ray has finally completed his 2nd trial, they would spit out a mouthful of blood since he is the one in the team who uses his brainless and just want to fight.
After answering many of the opponent riddles, Ellis was finally able to proceed to the next trial after asking the hooded person a riddle that he has just made up, that was filled with utter nonsense.
"That was a close call, I hope there won't be any of this riddle in the next trial, or else I will be kicked out of the trial," said Ellis with a sigh as he went through the door.
"Looks like this young one is determine to get the cultivation manual badly for him to trick his opponent just so he could get to the next stage," said the mysterious voice after Ellis has also gone through the door.
"I wonder if the lady that came together with them will be able to get through this stage or not" added the mysterious voice.
Jenny has been cracking his brain thinking of a riddle to say that the hooded person won't be able to answer but couldn't think of any to say and was just saying the ones she knew which were not difficult for the hooded person to answer.
"Dammit, is this how I am going to lose to this person before me. Come on jenny think, what will Ellis do in a situation like this" said jenny to herself as she begins to think hard.
But unfortunately for her, nothing was coming out of her head and she was beginning to panic about what will happen to her if she was to fail the trial and how Ray would look at her if he made it through to the end and get his reward. While she is the one to always find fault in whatever he does fail.
"No there is no way I am going to lose to that barbarian," said Jenny as she finds her motivation to winning the trial as she used her brain to the limit thinking of a riddle but still not being able to think of one and she was already frustrated.
"Who cares if it is going to work or not let's see if he can answer this rifle of mine," said Jenny as she threw caution to the air and asked.
"I look flat, but I am deep,
Hidden realms I shelter.
Lives I take, but the food I offer.
At times I am beautiful.
I can be calm, angry, and turbulent.
I have no heart but offer pleasure as well as death.
No man can own me, yet I encompass what all men must-have. What am I"
"Wealth" replied the hooded person.
"Wrong, the answer is the ocean" replied Jenny out of excitement as she slammed the chair handle.
The hooded person went silent declaring his lost before fading away and the door came out which Jenny walk into with excitement.

A Fool's Journey, or the Vagrancies of a Man in Exotic Lands
What does a sad bastard do when fate, literally, decides to throw him into a fantasy world? Solon just wanted to lead a normal life; work, share some pizza with friends, work, play some videogames or read something, work, maybe sleep?, work... Pretty much the usual, rinse and repeat. It was far from perfect, but life was nicely boring and comfy enough. Truth be told, he had hoped it would go on forever, or until he got married, or until the apocalypse finally decided to bring an end to everything. As far as he could tell, though, the former was about as likely as the latter; not very. And perhaps even somewhat related, if it ever came to it. Unfortunately, he saw himself involved in some sort of cosmic fart that screwed him over, brutally severing his life-plan. Or, maybe, would it be more suitable to say that Fate had other plans? Sure, he's yet to find out exactly what those plans might be, but, at the very least, they do seem to involve him being shoved into another world, fighting off a couple of horrendous creepers, and -almost- an accidental liaison with a baboon. Needless to say, the job doesn't come with dental care, and death seems more likely than retirement... Yep, when he got yoinked out of Earth, there were no princesses waiting for him, no sexy goddesses, and no severe Gandalf-wannabes! Heck, not even a bunch of demonic cultists! All he got for the trouble was a bunch of snarky windows and the honest desire to punch whatever bastard happens to be behind the smug System. Well, that, and a few forced trips to the so-called Tower of Ascension. Not exactly what he would have expected but, on the plus side, he does get to do some magic. Though, not quite the wand-waving kind. Whatever. One thing’s patently clear, though, he’s certainly not the chosen one, nor the summoned hero, nor the Savior. If anything, he himself might be in need of some saving... Just what kind of fool does the System take him for? Please do consider the tags. Also, 'Strong Lead' here means weak to strong, over a decent amount of time, not op from the very beginning. Things to expect: decent grammar, cheeky goats. Things not to expect: Harems, a decent sense of fashion.
