Waiting until it was very late at night, the three sneak out of the courtyard as they headed for the gate where were being guarded by some patrols.

" now how are we going to get through them without being seen," said Ray as they come to halt and take cover by a hut.

" I never expected that the patrol guards will still be awake by this time of the day" reply Ellis as he begins to survey the area.

" so we just wasted the whole of the day just to be stopped by some guards," said Ray in annoyance

" Shhh, keep your voice down, or do you want us to be caught by others and be seen as a thief," asked Jenny she placed her hand on her lips signaling Ray to keep his voice down.

" what's the need since we are going back sooner than later" replied Ray a bit angry.

All this while that Ray and jenny talking, Ellis was busy studying the pattern in the patrol in search for flaws and after immersing himself in the study of the pattern, Ellis finally gets an idea of how they patrol.

"All alright guys follow me and don't forget to raise to feet of yours lightly to avoid notifying the guards about the position," said Ellis with all seriousness before leading the way.

" finally you have started using that head of yours "replies Ray with a light chuckle as he follows behind Ellis.

After avoiding the guard that was instructed with the task of patrolling, they took cover once more and waited for some time before proceeding forward until they finally get past the gate.

" Finally we are out, so where should we go from here," asked Ray in excitement.

" Just keep your mouth shut and follow me" replied Ellis as he leads the way.

Meanwhile back at the Gibson clan, clan head Finn stood outside as stare into the endless sky.

" do you want me to follow him from behind," asked a voice in the shadow.

" yes but make sure you don't get involved in any more of their activities unless things are getting out of hand" replies clan head Finn.

" don't worry clan head, as long as he doesn't get into serious trouble I won't be exposing my identity," said commander derrick as he stepped out of the shadow

Nodding his head instead of replying, clan head Finn walked back into his courtyard leaving derrick behind.

" I hope that kid will be able to entertain me a little," said commander derrick with a smile on his face before disappearing into thin air.

The three travel for a long time until the sun begins to come out.

" I thought you guys said the destination is not that far from the clan," asked Ray.

" yeah, we should be there any time soon" reply Ellis as he continues to walk forward.

" that is what you have been saying for some hours now but we have not come across anything not even humans from other clans" complain Ray.

" The reason why you have not come across anything since we have been traveling towards this direction is that we are already in the forbidden land" replies Ellis as he points forward.

When Ray heard this, he stopped and turn around to look at the place once more in doubt before asking.

" Are you playing tricks on me because I can't feel any danger from the place"?

" of course you can't since it is just a land but the problem is the beast residing here is the problem everyone is having since you might encounter a beast of a higher realm here" replied Ellis.

" so you are saying that stepping in this direction could bring us a lot of trouble," asked Jenny.

" yes but can be easily fixed" replies Ellis with a smile as he turns to jenny.

" and how do you plan to do that" asked Jenny with a frown.

" simple, all we have to do is to conceal our energy. Without the trace of spiritual energy in the air, it will not be an easy task for them to track us down" replies Ellis as he continues to walk forward.

Doing as they were told, the team continue forward until they came across a desert not too far from them after traveling for so long.

" We are here, now all that is left to do is to follow the map and see where it takes us," said Jenny as she gazes at the distant desert.

" be careful there might be danger and since the beast is underground, it will be very difficult for us to touch them not to talk of killing them," said Ellis as he reminded the team of the danger in the desert.

" I don't see why we should be worried about things like sand creatures, one thing I learned about them is that they are very weak when it comes to defending themselves from harm" replied Ray as he pulled his blade out of the scabbard in preparation to a fight.

" you should have also learned about their ability to manipulate the sand to do their bidding" commented jenny with a smirk on her face.

" so tell me, Ray, how do you plan to fight when you are being surrounded by sand," asked Ellis as he chuckled lightly.

" well, you will know when the time comes" reply Ray as he walks ahead of the team.

" How did you get to know this moron," asked Jenny while watching Ray walking out.

" I don't, he just fell out of nowhere. Hey, you wait for the map is with me remember" reply Ellis before storming off to catch up with Ray.

" ah boys, jenny look what you have landed yourself into," said Jenny to herself helplessly for also running forward.

The group started following the map until they finally reach the place that marked x on the map. Taking a closer look at the place, Ray couldn't help but yell at loud.

" shit, we have been scammed".

" Ellis are you sure we are in the right place," asked Jenny doubtfully.

" yes, this is the place that was marked on the treasure map" replied Ellis.

" if we are the right place, then why is there nothing other than sand in this place," asked Ray.

" how am I supposed to know the answer to that question" reply Ellis.

" maybe where the treasure is been kept is underground or it must have been destroyed due to the passage of time," said Jenny.

" that's should also be a possibility too but the problem now is where are we going to start the digging from" replies Ray with a question.

" ah, this is going to be a little bit troublesome. Ray you are going to dig from the west while jenny dig from the east and I will dig from this angle" said Ellis as he started given orders.

" roger that sir" replies Ray as he forwards to his allocated site.

' good thing we are cultivators else digging this place with our bare hands will be impossible, but with spiritual energy, it will be a piece of cake" thought Ray.

And that's how the group started digging in search of the treasure, but unfortunately for them, nothing was buried underground. Out of frustration, Ray throws a piece of stone that he found on the ground only for the stone to hit something before falling to the ground.

Catching sight of this, Ray went forward to touch the air where the stone has landed but the moment he did, his hands went through like there was nothing there. Picking up the stone again out of curiosity, Ray threw it out again only for the stone to fall again but this time around it hit him right in the head since he was standing very close to it.

Discovery this, Ray became excited as he called on Ellis and Jenny who have already lost the will to continue searching.

" what is it this time around," asked Ellis after getting to him.

" take a look at this" replies Ray as he doesn't have the time to explain what he has discovered and chooses to just show them.

Picking up a stone, he threw it ahead, and what happened previously happened ahead which stunned Ellis as he moved his hand forward to feel the wall only for him to feel nothing.

" I have already tried that, and it seems like only inanimate objects come in contact with it," said Ray.

" no wonder we were not able to find anything after searching the whole place" commented Ellis in excitement.

" if I am not mistaking, then this should be the handwork of a formation master," said jenny.

" What else can manifest this high level of invisibility and illusion if not a formation master" replies Ellis with a smile on his face.

" so does that means there is a treasure hidden inside here," asked Ray.

" yes, Ray, whoever this place belongs to must be a very powerful being so there is likely going to be treasure inside" replies jenny with a smile.
