After leaving the courtyard, Ellis walks all the way to his father's courtyard where he stood still and took a deep breath.
"I would like to have a word with you father," said Ellis as he waited outside for his father's reply.
" come in then" reply clan head Finn after some time.
Gathering his courage, Ellis walked into the room where he saw his father sitting crossed leg in a meditation state with two of his guards keeping watch over the place. Choosing not to disturb him and wait until he is done with his meditation, all Ellis could do was to sit down cross leg and wait.
Seeing that Ellis did not say anything after coming in, clan head Finn took the initiative to ask him while he was still closing his eyes.
" what is it that you want to talk to me about".
Instead of answering straight away, Ellis turns to look at the guards as he said.
" I want to have a word with my father alone, so you can leave for the now".
Not knowing how to react to this, the two guards could only turn to the clan head for his orders only for them to see him wearing a cold smile on his face. Not wasting any more time, the two guards could only bow respectively before taking their leave.
" for you to send the guards out I believe whatever you want to say has to be important," asked the clan's head Finn as he continues to close his eyes.
" about that, I wanted you to grant me permission to leave the clan territory for some days" replied Ellis.
Hearing the words that came out of Ellis's mouth, clan head Finn who has his eyes close all this way couldn't help but open them in shock as he stares at Ellis right into the eye.
" Did I just hear you say you want to leave the clan?" asked clan head, Finn
" yes father, I want to go on an adventure with my friends for some days or months" replied Ellis.
" It seems to me that you have lost your mind this time around. Ain't you the one that was almost killed if not for your protectors who took their lives just so you can escape and with the way things are going with the Bryan clan, you still want to go out" asked clan head Finn with a frown on his face.

" I know which is why I want to leave unannounced this time around even my brothers won't be aware of my absent" replied Ellis seriously.
" and how do you plan to do that" asked clan head Finn with a frown on his face.
" well normally I don't usually leave my courtyard so if I were to leave late at night when everyone has already gone to bed, then I shouldn't have any problem with others knowing" replied Ellis.
" I still refuse to let you go out since even if you were to unnoticed by the clan members, there is no way you will be able to get past the Bryan clan," said clan head Finn.
" If I come across any member of the Bryan clan and there is no way we can go our separate ways without avoiding conflict then I will have to fight it out with them then" replied Ellis with a laugh.
" you fight them with that weak cultivation of yours, please don't make me laugh," said clan head Finn with a smile.
" well if the opponent is far stronger than me, then I guess I will have to get my friends involved" replied Ellis.
" and you think that will solve the whole thing," asked clan head Finn.
" should be more than enough, moreover I still have that friend of my friend the hunters guild tagging along" replied Ellis with a shameless smile on his face.
" just take a good look at yourself, depending on a woman for survival. Are you my son" said clan head Finn helplessly.
" well as long as I can keep my life I don't mind doing things even if it will cost me my face" replied Ellis seriously.
" are you forgetting you have a high position in the empire, you could be the one to lead the clan in the future after me," said clan head Finn.
" oh please, let's use not go there. We but know that I am not qualified to be the next clan head when my brothers are there" replied Ellis with a smile on his face.
" yes, your brothers are there but so are you, Ellis," said clan head Finn.
" can you stop pulling my legs, I don't want anything to do with the position of the clan head other than being a freeloader" replied Ellis.

Clan's head Finn frown deepen the more when Ellis said those words from his mouth.
" I just can't believe I gave birth to a son like you," said clan head, Finn, angrily.
" what can I say, the heaven is not just hearing you wished when I was being given birth to" replied Ellis with a laugh.
" do you know that I can smash you right now," said clan head Finn who couldn't hold himself back from exploding.
" wow calm down old man, I was just playing with you" replied Ellis as he distances himself from his father.
" Who are you calling old you good for nothing son," said clan head Finn as he took a deep breath to calm himself.
" come on father, we both know you are old" replied Ellis.
" you with your wide mouth, you still haven't told me who that girl is to you," asked clan head Finn with a smile on his face.
" well she's my lover" replied Ellis straight away.
" oh so you have finally decided to let go of Amanda now" asked clan head Finn
" What else can I do since she has already been engaged to the clan master of the Clayson clan" replied Ellis.
" I never thought Isaac would do something like that," said clan head Finn with a sigh.
" I don't blame her father at all, since it is more important to strengthen their relationship with the Clayson clan" replied Ellis.
" still it shouldn't have been that way, anyways that's in the past now," said clan head Finn.
" Yeah anyway, I will be leaving soon so I need to go make preparation" reply Ellis as he got up.
" do you want me to send someone to look after you or are you just going to depend on a woman" asked clan head, Finn?
" There will be no need for that since it will just blow the cover and by the way, I won't be depending on her since this adventure is also a part of training for me" replied Ellis before blowing and walking out of the room.
The moment Ellis walk out of the room, clan head Finn couldn't help but smile as he mutters to himself.
" seem like this silly son of mine has finally changed after the attempt to take his life"
Heading back to the Courtyard, Ellis came across Simon who seen to be heading to meet up with their father.
" Good morning elder brother" greeted Ellis when Simon was close to him.
" morning junior brother, it seems like you were having some time with father"reply Simon with a warm smile on his face.
" hahaha it was just a little chat nothing more," said Ellis with a laugh.
" do junior brother care to share" ask Simon.
"You don't have to worry yourself about something like that elder brother" replied Ellis.
" oh well if you say so, I am going to meet up with father," said Simon.
" then I shouldn't disturb your meeting then" replied Ellis with a bowl before taking his leave.
After walking a far distance from his elder brother, Ellis wore a smile on his face as he said in a low voice.
" if you think I am going to tell you one thing about myself so that you will use it against me then you must be really stupid".
Making his way to his courtyard, like they were already expecting him to show up, Ray and jenny quickly asked him in a union.
" so what did your father say".
" he agreed after many convincing but we will have to leave the clan territory late at night so that we won't be seen since others are after my life" replied Ellis as he took a sit.
" I can't believe they are going to delay the quest this time around," said Ray in anger.
" well, what other choice do we have or do you want to fight bandit once more," asked Ellis.
" if they want to have a go then let them come, since we have jenny this time around they won't be having an easy fight" reply Ray with a smile.
" seem like the beating you took last time was not enough to break you completely," said Ellis as he lay down as started sleeping.

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
