In the morning the moment the sun begins to set, the vice leader led them out of the Hiepia empire in search of clues but were not making any progress in their search.
" Hey sir don't you think we should go back to the guild and try to gather information there before searching for the demon," asked Ellis after trying his beast from saying anything since they have been looking for clues.
" Going back to the guild will only slow us down by the way of you are the young clan master of the Gibson clan and I believe you must know one or two about demons" replied the vice leader.
" Yeah but not much, what does that have to do with locating the demon," asked Ellis.
" Simple, since you have been educated about the demons then you should know what kind of environment is more suitable for them" replied the vice leader.
" Well according to the records concerning demon, they love to stay at a place that is devoid of sunlight and a good example of a place that fits the description is a cave," said Ellis as he places his hand in his chin.
" That's good for a start, so if we are talking about caves here then The Darkest Caves should be our first guess" commented the vice leader with a smile on his face.
When Ellis heard the vice leader mention The Darkest Caves, he suddenly stood still while the others were walking forward and noticing that Ellis is not following then Ray stopped on his track as he turns to look at him.
" Hey man while are you standing there, hurry up before you get left behind," said Ray as he urges Ellis to come over.
Ignoring Ray Ellis turn to the vice leader who has not stop a bit as he continue to advance forward and asked.
" Sir did you just say we will be going to The Darkest Caves".
Slow down his pace, the vice leader turn to look at Ellis as he replied with a smile on his.
" Yes our destination is The Darkest Caves, do you have a problem with that".
" Sir you know how terrify the cave is to those with low realm," asked Ellis.
" Yeah but to people like you two with strong fortitude can easily go in without a problem so stop complaining like a coward and let's hit the road before it gets dark" replied the vice leader.

They continue with their journey to The Darkest Caves and after traveling for a long time they were finally able to get to the entrance of the cave and when looking at the cave, nothing could be seen apart from total darkness.
" Alright guys we are here, make sure to stay close to each other to avoid splitting up," said the vice leader.
" Eh sir do you by any means have any spare blade with you there," asked Ray with an awkward laugh.
" Oh, I forgot your blade was destroyed in the fight earlier" replied the vice leader.
" Please don't bring that up," said Ray as his mood take a turn.
" No problem, any way you can use this blade of mine for the now" replied the vice leader with a chuckle as he took out a blade from his storage ring.
Taking the blade from the vice leader, Ray started to do some basic moves before placing it in his scabbard. Watching Ray perform those moves, the vice leader shook his head in disappointment as he said.
" You still have a long way to go in your swordsmanship besides didn't you have a spare blade and I mean the one you used in killing one of the assassin's".
" Yes I still do but I can use it due to my cultivation level" replied Ray with a smile.
"It's impossible for a foundation realm practitioner to wield a saint weapon but you surprise me kid," said the vice leader as he pats Ray lightly on his shoulder before proceeding into the dark cave as he produces flame made out of energy from his palm.
Following the vice leader from behind, the three of them make their way deep into the cave and along the way there came across skulls and skeletons of both beast and human laying on the ground.
Stepping on some along the way, Ray was getting angry about the skulls since they are spread around the place which made a sound whenever they are step on.
" How can there be so many skulls how, is there a wild beast that devours anything that set into the cave or what," asked Ray.
" There is no beast alright, These are the remains of those that were caught in some kind of dream where they will be trapped for eternity if they were not able to break through the spell" replied Ellis as he looks at skulls laying on the ground.

" Why didn't you tell me that this is the kind of place we will be going into, what if I got trapped in this dream," asked Ray who was already scared of going to sleep forever without waking up.
" Since you step into the cave have you been feeling dizzy" replied the vice leader with a question.
" Why would I be feeling dizzy, it hasn't been long since we rested so am not," said Ray confusingly at what the vice leader is getting at.
" Since you clan to be fine then the spell won't be effective against you so stop worry and keep your mouth shut else you will alert the enemy of our arrival" replied the vice leader as he continues to proceed.
Deciding to keep his mouth shut, the three continue to go deep down the cave until they came across some humans which attack them the moment they were within their range.
" What is wrong with all these people, can't they see that we are not their enemy," said Ray as he kicks one of the humans which lung at him back.
" They are been possessed and are no different from being dead so don't hold back when attacking them" replied the vice leader as he begins to slash his sword at any of the humans that get close to him.
" I get that annoying demon must be expecting some guest" chuckle Ellis as he ram into a group of humans as he created a path for them to proceed as they continue to defend themselves against the humans.
"It annoying fighting all of them, why don't you take them out so that we can preserve our strength for the upcoming fight?" asked Ray as he continues to kill some of the humans with his windslash.
" You said it all kid, I need to preserve my strength just in case the demon has a boost in its realm after staying down here for so long, it is hard to believe that it has yet to recover its peak so you two better think of a way to handle it's servants while I make my way forward" replied the vice leader as he made a path for himself.
Watching their vice leader leaving them behind to face the demon servants, Ray couldn't help but grumble.
" Now you leaving us out of the good part".
" Come on let's take this guy's out so that we can catch up with sir," said Ellis as he begins to throw a flurry of Punches at them.
Not holding back, Ray begins to send windslash after windslash at the humans as he cut them down without caring about being exhausted since he still has potions to rely on. After struggling for some time, they were finally able to get rid of the human. Taking a breath, they proceed forward while taking the path the vice leader took and after walking for a while they came across the vice leader fighting some beast that is not different from the state the humans were in.
Seeing the two, the vice leader chuckle before saying.
" What took you guys so take to get here".
" It wasn't easy to get rid of those humans you know" replied Ellis.
Pushing a beast back before slashing it in two, the vice leader jump high up as he made his way to the other side and turn to look at the two with a smile on his face as he said.
" I will be leaving these beasts with you make sure you get it done quickly".
" What is wrong with him, can't he just deal with them to make things easier for everyone" complain Ray as he watched the vice leader run until he is out of sight.
" Come on let's get this over with," said Ellis as he runs towards a beast that was not looking at them as he smashes his fist at it while sending it flying towards some beast that is not close by.
Drinking a Mana potion, Ray also join the fight as he swings his blade while producing windslash after windslash that went after the beast as they groan in pain before losing their life.

Decompose!
Dear diary. When you read stories about some people missing and returning after years of absence claiming they were living in another world, your first reaction is to scoff and dismiss a story as a tall tale, right? I know I did. All the time. Until it happened to me and I no longer did. That day was today. Some god of thunder smote me. If it were Chris Hemsworth, I wouldn't mind but it was some barbaric Hitite god that abaondned Earth some four millennia ago. Yes, what can I say? I love the seventh art. I have more hours watching movies than any other activity, including sleep. What? Do you think I'm exaggerating? Maybe I am. I'll really miss hollywood the most. And my biggest regret is that I never got to visit the holy city of cinema. I did not come to another world to be a hero even though there was hints that they hoped I'd save it. I did not come with overpowered abilities able to, dunno, leap tall castles in a single bound, faster than a speeding crossbow bolt, be more powerful than a eight-horse carriage, the bounds. No. After the asshole god that murdered me brought me to his world, he gave me some boons from his discount bin and "The Power of my Soul (tm)". Forgive my french, I hope you understand I am rather upset at dying. And he somehow decided that my power is to recycle stuff. How awesome is that? Not much at first, I must admit. At least I got all my camping stuff and equipment with me. There's no lycra in the other world. I'll make it someday, but that day is not today. So here I am. In another world, in the middle of nowhere. I'm no heroine. As the song goes, I'm your basic average girl. And I'm assumed to be here to save the world. But almost everything can stop me, because I'm not named Kim. Wish me luck, diary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This novel is going have the following features: slow-paced slice-of-life No GameLit / LitRPG elements. Movie references. Sandra likes the seventh art. Journal / diary style crafting (includes chemistry, engineering and metallurgy) low magic technological advancement (for Sandra, at least. She is not against sharing though) personal relations clash of perception between the modern and ancient customs. bits of tension, fighting, and plot here and there. I won't repeat myself though. Once she crafts a good batch of soap, for example, she'll just note, "I crafted soap again." Once it is estabilished how she obtains compound X, compound X2 that is obtainable from the same process will also just be mentioned. I'll try to be as realistic as I can with the crafting, chemistry, and technology. Cover: Public Domain Image by StockSnap from Pixabay. No attribution required but we do it anyway.

Bleached Nightmare
500 years into the future, technological progress has stagnated. Wracked by a series of problems like climate change, lack of resources and the innate human lust for war, the geopolitical landscape of planet Earth is radically different, and quality of life is far from what it was in the past. While technical development and research into realistically feasible space travel has made leaps and bounds, this has come at the cost of a world that is reeling from centuries of technical stagnation in other aspects of life. The establishment of a mining colony on Mars has led to the discovery of a new, rare material called sarinium; though it is extremely tensile and durable, it has a very low melting point. The discovery of this metal leads to large mechanical infantry- dubbed 'Spirit Striders', they are six to ten meters tall and as famed for the pride they provide a nation as they are a lethally mobile heavy weapons platform. The story follows the character of Marilin, who must both figure the enigma that is her past, and what this means for her allegiances in the future. Despite her genetically physical frailty, she seeks to gain power through a vessel that will channel her wish to change the world- the Spirit Strider. --- I hope you all enjoy my work. This is a story that I began writing over four years ago in my beginning years of high school, and have cast aside unfinished in the past two years. Though it is not up to my current standards, I hope you all may find some enjoyment in it. Happy reading.

Northwoods Trapper
In the wild places of our planet, dark vestiges of our paranormal past yet cling to twisted life. In the past, the hunters and trappers of the world were tasked with removing such blights from society's fringes - legal assassins, enlisted to enforce the will of civilization against those unnatural, otherworldly hosts. Nowadays, we're not so lucky. With the idea of proper monster-hunting fading from public perception, the once-prestigious mantle is donned by amateurs, hobbyists, and self-taught warriors. It pays poorly, it's dangerous, and people would rather do something that gets them rich or famous or drowning in attention. Most often, new-age monster hunters are born from tragedy. They lack the tact, training, and funding of hunters passed. Instead, they have only their wits and brawn to carry them through. So it is with our hero. In the woods of the American Midwest, foul creatures lurk. Tabitha Varna, a young college drop-out scarred by her past, is determined to uproot them or die trying. Sometimes she hopes for both.[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
