Heavenly Monarch Chapter 77

Making their way to the curious wetland wood, the group couldn't help but wonder if there is anyone residing in the forest and having no choice josh couldn't help but asked.
" Are you sure the kidnapper is here in the forest".
" According to the information we obtain from the blacksmith, it is more likely that the kidnapper is here and all we have to do is locate where the descendants are being kept" replied Ellis.
" Do you have to believe what the blacksmith said, asked josh.
" Yeah I do and beside his daughter was among the victims, so I see no reason why I shouldn't believe him" replied Ellis
" Come on guy keep your voice down or are you planning to make known our presence to the enemy, said Gray with a frown.
Josh and Ellis became quiet and continue their search. Meanwhile, when they were searching for the kidnapper, Ray noticed that Gray was holding an old metal in his hand as he searched.
" What is that thing you are holding, asked Ray.
" Oh this, it's an energy detector, replied Gray with a smile on his face.
" Is it perfect at tracking energy, asked Ellis this time around.
" As long as the victims or kidnapper are here, I will be able to put a reading from the energy detector, replied Gray.
" What if there is a beast in here, then how are you going to differentiate between which one is the target energy asked Ellis
" You don't have to worry about that for the energy detector will detect humans energy and not beast" replied Roland.
Seeing how their new recruits are just asking questions, Gray realized that they have not come across the energy detector.
" Guys if possible I will advise you two to get one of this from the guild" said Gray as he waved the energy detector before them
" Sure thing" replied Ellis with a thumbs up.
After searching for a while and still no sign of a human in the surrounding, Ray was becoming a little restless.
" Are you sure that metal you are holding is really useful here, why don't we just split up to make the search much easier asked the frustrated Ray.
" You fool have you forgotten how we were unable to leave the forest when we were here that other time" replied Ellis to Ray while being careful with his words.

" That was then and beside didn't we find our way out eventually. I believe this is not the first time the three of you are undergoing a quest in this forest, so you should be familiar with the place already" said Ray as he looked at their group.
" Splitting the team to search more ground is not the problem but cutting our battle strength to half is" replied Gray to Ray.
" I got something guys" said Roland as he begins to walk towards the direction where the energy is the strongest.
The team followed Roland from behind as he leads the way. After tracking the energy for a while, they came across an old cottage in the forest which they could not have notice it existed if not for the energy detector.
" Who could have believed that there is a cottage here in the curious wetland after all my years of carry on quest here in this very place " said Gray who seem to be in shock.
" So are we going in or what" asked the impatient Ray.
" I am beginning to wonder if you have a brain at all. Do you know what we are up against" replied Gray with a frown.
" Does it really matters, if it proves to be stronger than us, we can always make a run for it" said Ray.
The whole group were shock stiff by the word coming out of the mouth of the idiot that's standing with them.
" Ray is better we just hide here and observe for a while. If we can get a detail about what we are dealing with, it will be very for us in completing the quest" replied Ellis who had already gotten used to Ray.
Since Ellis has already made it clear to Ray, Gray instructed the team to conceal their energy so that they will not be found by who so ever that is staying in the cottage as they hid in the woods. After waiting for a long and there was still no sign of a person walking out of the cottage until it became nighttime and that was when the door was makes a crack sound before opening and a hooded man walk out of the cottage and ran into the distance at an incredible speed.

" That should be our man, and he is also in the foundation realm like us as well" said josh.
" What is it going to be now Gray" asked Roland while looking at gray.
" I say we wait for a while, there could be more of those hooded men in their" replied Gray.
" I agree with Gray, we cannot endanger our lives" commented Ellis.
" Not only endanger our life, why don't you just say that you are scared of going on" mutter Ray.
" What did you say" asked Ellis as he turns to look at Ray.
" I wasn't talking about you" replied Ray before turning to the other side.
" You better be" scoff Ellis before turning back to look at the cottage.
After waiting for some time now and the cottage was still quiet with no sign of movement coming out of the cottage, Gray decided they move in. The group move in and opened the door slowly before going inside.
After getting inside they discover the place was light and somehow messy. Making their way forward they were not able to locate any being which come as a surprise to them.
" There is nothing in here other than all this mess" said josh in a low voice.
" I think we got the wrong guy here" added Roland.
" I don't think so, according to the blacksmith the kidnapper ran into the curious wetland and if I am not mistaking that kidnapper should be the hooded man we saw earlier"
" I think they must be a mechanism or a passage that will take us to where we are supposed to be" said Ray.
" It's possible since this place is very messy, there is no way that hooded person can stay in a place like this unless there is a hidden path" replied Gray who seem to be in thought.
" Alright now let's search the whole play for the key in opening the hidden passage" said josh as he went in search for the hidden key.
The group begin to search for the hidden key and searching for a while now and still not able to find anything. They were just about to continue with the search when they heard the sound of footsteps coming from the outside.
They all scatter around the place and look for a good place to hid before the door was open, and the hooded man came in with a body on his shoulder. Walking into the room, the hooded man place the body on the ground before walking towards the shelf by the side and was just about to pick something when he pursed and turn to look around the place again.
" That's strange, I believe This place was not as messy as it is now when I left earlier" said the hooded man as he continues to observe the place.
Meanwhile, in their hiding the group were shock by what the hooded man just said, and they were beginning to pray that they were ratted out. After looking around for a while before he smack his head and said.
" What an idiot I am, of course the place is always messy".
Placing his hand on a strange book, the hooded man turn the book slightly to the right before pulling it upward and a rumbling sound was head and the wall by the side of the shelf slid to the right creating an entrance leading into a dark hallway. Picking the body up, the hooded man walk into the hallway and the door begin to Close behind him.
" That was close" said Gray as he come at of his hiding.
" Good thing the place is always messy else we would have be discovered" commented Roland as he walked out of his hiding.
" Who would have thought that the key would be on the shelf" said Gray as he walked to the shelf.
After studying the books for a while, Gray added.
" Did anyone of you see the book he picked".
" I was keeping a watchful eye over him the whole time" replied Ray as he walked forward and place his hand on the strange book before turning it slightly to the right before pulling it upward and the same rumbling sound was heard, and the hallway came into view.
" Shall we" said Ray before walking into the hallway and the rest follow suit.

We also have a Discord for anybody who wants to talk all things Rise of the Paragon!! Genesis Discord Also, consider joining my Patreon! Fair Warning: Blue Screens, and somewhat overpowered protagonists! The main character's point of view is described in first person. Every other character is in third person. That's just how I've chosen to present my writing style. REWRITE/REVISE is currently in progress. Any suggestions? Comment on their respective chapters!
