" Where are you going, can't you just stand watch while I face my tribulation" yelled Ray to the running Ellis.

" You must be mad if you think that I will allow myself to be marked by the heavens when the tribulation begins" replied Ellis after being in a very far distance from Ray.

" Don't worry I will protect you from he and besides no one is going to get close to you unless they are seeking death" added Ellis while breathing heavily.

Ray was already confused about Ellis behavior after hearing that he is about to face his tribulation and when he heard that no one will get close to him, he became even more confused and turn to the system for answer.

" System, what does he mean by that".

" When facing a tribulation, it is important to get far from where any living being is especially those that are stronger than you else they will be marked by the heavens while their strength will be added to the tribulation to strengthen it in the process"

" If you say so then while is he so scared when am the one that will be facing the tribulation" asked Ray after understanding something about the tribulation.

" That's because he will be punished by the heavens if he were to remain within the range of the tribulation"

Ray sigh to how the heavens could be so brutal to those that want to help their friends. He was just about to ask the system some questions but that when he got a notification from the system.

After the countdown was up, the sky begin to change with a sound of thunder rumbling could be heard. Swallowing one of the pill, Ray sat down in a meditation and look at the sky in fear.

What he saw frighten him and was already losing hope of facing the tribulation. For he saw the lightening expending in size. Taking a deep breath, Ray closed his eyes and began to drive his spiritual energy all over his body in preparation to defend himself against the lightening.

While he was driving his spiritual energy around the lightening up in the sky was busy gathering energy and after gathering enough energy before descending from the sky and headed for Ray.

" BOOM"

An explosion occur when the lightening hit Ray in the top of his head before what remains of it ran down his body. Gritting his teeth to endure the pain, Ray thought it was over when he no longer felt any pain and the sound of the lightening rumble has also reduced.

With a smile on his face, Ray look at the sky and was just about to curse at the lightening that stroke him only for him to see another lightening gathering energy and was expanding. After some time the size of the lightening has already grown two time the size of the one that hit him. Not having the courage to sit down while the lightening hit him, Ray took out his blades and waited for the lightening to finish gathering energy before it charge at him.

Waiting for it to get in close range, Ray sent a double wind slash at the lightening which then explode in midair, but before he could catch his breath, another lightening descended from the sky and successfully hit him in his head once again. Dropping on his knees, Ray felt his body go numb from the attack and seeing that he won't be able to succeed, he took two extra foundation realm pills which relief the pain he was feeling.

Getting back up, Ray begins to look at the new lightening that was still gathering energy before sitting down on the floor and ordered the system to set up the energy force field. After the force field was set up, the lightening descended and landed on the force field but was unable to break through it.

Looking at the weird lightening tangling around the force field, Ray noticed that a particle of lightning was able to penetrate the force field in the form of energy and landed to him and instead of causing him pain, he fit that his body has been nourished by it.

Coming to this realization, Ray deactivated the force field and waited for the fifth lightening to descend and landed on him. He felt the pain all over his body but after some time it was gone and what came after was the nourishment from the energy that is contained inside lightening which help to strengthen his body.

Ray roar at the sky in excitement

" Yes come out me, give me all you got".

" RUMBLE"

Like the lightening was answering to Ray in fury, another lightening was beginning to take shape and like the previous ones this one looks bigger and wide. Seeing this Ray laugh out loud before spreading his arms wide open like he's welcoming the lightening.

Descending from the sky at an incredible speed, the lightening stroke him on his chest which send him flying backward and hit a boulder. Getting up from the boulder, his clothes were already rag making him almost half naked with wounds all over his body.

Wiping the blood from his lip, Ray smiled at the lightening gathering in the sky.

" This one could actually kill me if I don't take it serious" said Ray to himself before taking out a two intermediate health potion and drank them to recover his health before ripping off the rag clothes leaving his upper body exposed.

From the distance, Ellis has been watching the tribulation and was shocked to see how Ray was handling it well until it was sent flying by the six lightening and hit a boulder.

" That should have been enough to crush any QI refining cultivator, but he was able to get up from it and is that look he's giving like he's enjoying the attack" Ellis mumble to himself before looking at the lightening that is gathering energy in the sky.

" This should be the last one if am not mistaking" thought Ellis.
