When the doctor put her fingers inside her, Chen Lihua screamed in pain and struggled.

"Hold her down!." The doctor instructed Liu Longwei.

"You're five centimeters (2 inches) dilated, which means your cervix is halfway to its complete opening. You are already in the first stage of labor. okay right now, I need you to walk around, do some exercise, yoga will help at this point. You can chat, read, just have fun and practice your breathing exercises." The doctor said to them.

"Doctor, I need to pee." Chen Lihua said in pain.

"Please go ahead." The doctor said after cleaning her up.

Liu Longwei kept saying sorry to her as he escorted her to the bathroom to relieve herself.

Just when she was done using the bathroom, the doctor informed her that she could have a warm bath if she wanted to.

Chen Lihua didn't think she could stand having a normal shower, so she kicked against that idea.

She didn't trust herself and knew she didn't have the patience to be patient.

"It's good you helped me to shave before you went on a trip, otherwise, that place would not have been good to look at during delivery." Chen Lihua commented as she held unto his arm.

"Yeah, I did what I could for you, since I wouldn't be bearing the pain." Liu Longwei said as he leads the way out of the room.

The doctor just said they should exercise. Chen Lihua was allowed to drink water, but not allowed to eat anymore, because the food may make her sick during labor.

The rest of the family members just stayed clear and allowed the husband and wife to have all the time to themselves.

But they were close by to guide them.

After walking up and down the stairs twice, Chen Lihua felt she would faint from the pain of contraction and the stress of climbing up and down the stairs.

Liu Longwei assisted her to sit down on a padded chair down the stairs as he uncapped a bottle of water and handed it to her.

"The doctor said you should drink more water so you can urinate often as this will help to push the baby downwards."

Chen Lihua took the bottle of water from him and drank from it. She drank up to half of its content before passing the bottle back to him.

"Let's make a move." Liu Longwei said to her.

"No, I'm tired, I want to rest." Chen Lihua said, refusing to listen to him.

"Okay, go ahead and rest." Liu Longwei said, taking pity on her. He could very well understand what she was going through.

"Soon, I may not be in my right senses, so I want to start apologizing to you beforehand, just in case I talk to you or treat you badly. Also, I want to get the footage of my baby's birth since I won't be able to tell whatever that will go on." Chen Lihua said to him.

"Sweetheart, your wish is my command. I want you to know that I will never hold anything against you." Liu Longwei said to her as he gazed into her tired eyes.

"Lihua, what are you doing sitting there? You should be walking up and down the stairs, not sitting at a place. Hurry up and get up." Madam said as she approached them with Lady Chen walking beside her.

Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei didn't even know when they got to their side.

"Mum, I want to rest, I'm tired." Chen Lihua said, whining like a child.

"Yes mum, let Lihua rest a little, she is very tired." Liu Longwei pleaded for her.

"Look at this people." Lady Chen said with an unbelievable expression on her face.

"Do you think you're doing her any good by allowing her to rest when she hasn't done anything?." Lady Chen asked Liu Longwei.

"We get that you are expressing your love to her, but sorry, this is not the right time for it. After she gives birth, you can continue from where you guys stopped." Madam Liu said to them as she urged Chen Lihua to get up.

Liu Longwei had no choice but to help his already frowning wife up from the seat as they proceeded to climb up and down the stairs.

From that vigorous exercise, they moved back to the room where the doctor checked on her and the baby (fetal heart monitoring) to ensure the labor was proceeding normally.

"Your blood pressure is rising again." The doctor said in a worried tone but didn't show it on her face, as that would get the couple worried and worked up.

"Switch to Yoga, and then practice all the breathing techniques, I will guide you through this one." The doctor said to Chen Lihua.

"Doctor, for the Yoga exercises, do you need me to get her coach?." Liu Longwei asked.

"That's not necessary Mr. Liu, I can handle it." The doctor assured him with a slight smile on her face.

Chen Lihua kept drinking water and passing urine while exercising.

At last, when the doctor asked her to come over to the bed for her checkup, it could be seen that her baby bump had gone down considerably. And in no time, her baby bump would be reaching the floor.

During her Yoga exercise when she was using the stability ball, she kept breathing through her mouth because of the painful contractions.

When Liu Longwei said 'sorry' to her, she was happy and touched. But when he kept repeating that same word to her, she got annoyed and irritated, so she sent him a warning glare.

Right now, she can't afford to waste her breath or anybody, she already had a handful to deal with.

She kept telling Liu Longwei all manner of things because of her temper.

"Don't get close to me!."

"Pretend as if you are not seeing me, so turned around."

"Come and massage my back, is painful."

When did she say that 👆the doctor wondered why she instructed her to exercise with the ball if it was not to soothe her back pain? Then why else does she need a massage, does she want to trouble her husband because she can't bear the pain?

"Longwei, please pass me the bottle of water."

(Oh! She forgot to use the word 'Darling' 🤭 or more like she was not in the mood to use any sugar-coated words because she wasn't finding things funny).
