After Liu Dongmei read out the text aloud, there was a moment of silence.

Lady Chen came back to her senses and demanded to see the text.

Liu Dongmei passed the phone to her, and she took it and held the phone up so she could read the text with Old Madam Liu who was also interested in seeing the text.

"Good! Now send him a text to come home as soon as possible, that his wife is in a serious condition while worrying about him too." Old Madam Liu instructed.

"Yes, Grandma." Liu Dongmei replied as she took back her phone and typed on it."

"Sent." She said as she put her phone away.

"Grandma, should we tell Lihua now so her mind would be at ease?." Liu Dongmei asked.

"At ease? Just break this news to Lihua, and you will regret it." Lady Chen said from the side.

"Don't say anything to her. She has been waiting for her husband to return and now if you break this news to her, her mind will only relax that he is safe. But she will start to get worried and want him to come home immediately. Her thoughts will be filled with him instead of the baby. She will be totally distracted." Old Madam Liu said.

"She will be out of it." Lady Chen added.

"Okay." Liu Dongmei said as she chuckled softly.

"The food will be ready and served in five minutes, so tell your mum to bring Chen Lihua so she can have some food." Lady Chen instructed as she assisted the Old Lady 👵 up.

They had to go back to the kitchen to check the food they left on fire.

"Mum, it's time for Lihua to eat." Liu Dongmei said when she approached them.

"Lihua, the food is ready, let's go and have some." Madam Liu said to Chen Lihua who was standing with a hand on her waist and the other on her baby bump.

"I will eat later, I'm not hungry now." She replied before using the handkerchief on her hand to wipe the sweat off her face.

"Lihua dear, you need to eat now because you will be requiring a lot of strength to push your baby out, so let's go inside." Madam Liu said to her in a kind reminder.

Chen Lihua sighed as she turned around and started to walk towards the house.

Chen Lihua opened her mouth and was about to ask about Liu Longwei, but it was as if Liu Dongmei read her mind, because she quickly threw a question at Chen Lihua, and engaged her in a conversation till they got to the dining area inside the house.

After eating up half the food served after receiving encouragement from the women, Chen Lihua requested to have a bath because she sweated when she was outside.

And when she came inside the house, she wanted to have a bath before eating, but she was not allowed.

So now, she can finally have her bath and take a nap if the baby allows her.

Everybody was worried about her, so they didn't want her to shower alone. And they also didn't want her to go back to her bedroom, so they sent her to the delivery as there was also a bathroom there, and a change of clothes prepared for her.

Lady Chen went into the bathroom with her just to watch over her. Though Chen Lihua found that annoying she couldn't do anything about it.

She was not as strong as before, so she knew she would be needing assistance. And this was not the moment to be shy or embarrassed about.

After taking a shower 🚿, Chen Lihua changed into a comfortable handles knee-length dress before laying on the bed to sleep as a nurse stayed in the room to watch over her.

When Chen Lihua had taken a shower and gone to sleep, Liu Longwei phoned Liu Dongmei, and she put the call on loudspeaker.

"What happened to my wife?!." Liu Longwei asked in a panic.

When they all heard that familiar deep voice belonging to Liu Longwei, they sighed in relief with happiness written all over their faces.

"Pass the phone to me." Old Madam Liu instructed.

When she received the phone, she placed it on her ear as she replied, "Longwei my child, Lihua has been crying for ours thinking you were dead. But that is not the main issue. The main concern here is that your wife has a health complication that can be life-threatening if the labor is not induced, so you have to come home at once to be with her. You're the only one that can keep her hopes high, and encourage her to be brave."

"Grandma, I will be home in twenty minutes." Liu Longwei replied and ended the call immediately.

He didn't fidget, but his reply was laced in worry and concern for his wife and their unborn child.

Just like he said, he arrived twenty minutes later in a helicopter.

(I don't think I've seen someone so punctual like Liu Longwei 😪).

The helicopter landed in the compound instead of the rooftop.

He rushed into the house to find his wife. But in the living room, he saw other female family members, but his wife wasn't there, so he became alarmed, and thinking that something bad has happened, he forgot to greet any of them and went directly to ask about his wife.

"Where is Lihua? What happened to her?."

The women heaved sighs before Madam Liu said to him.

"We are glad that you are back safe and sound. Lihua is fine, she is sleeping in the room prepared for her delivery."

"Brother, what actually happened to you and your private jet?." Liu Dongmei asked.

"I will explain everything later but first, I need to see my wife." Liu Longwei said as he turned to walk away quickly.

"Longwei take easy steps. You don't want to wake her, she has not been having things easy." Lady Chen reminded him.

Although he had gone a little far because of the speed, he still heard her, so she slowed down his place and tried to lighten his steps.
