It's a new day today. Although it's snowing, Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei decided to go to the hospital for their appointment.

Chen Lihua is excited, but a little nervous, while Liu Longwei can not wait to know more about his baby, and how he can take better care of it.

Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei packed their stuff into the cars they came with.

After visiting the hospital, they would go back to their house.

Old Madam Liu and Madam Liu were worried about the young couple going to live on their own now that Chen Lihua was pregnant.

The women tried persuading them to stay at the Liu Villa for some time, so they can help to cater to the needs of Chen Lihua and their unborn baby, but Liu Longwei assured them that their needs would be well taken care of.

Seeing how adamant he remained, the two women didn't bother about the matter any longer.

They gave them strings of advice about the baby, and how they would take good care of it during this period.

After sending them off, the members of the Liu family retired back inside the Villa.

Although they received happy news this new year's day, they couldn't broadcast it, as Liu Longwei and Chen Lihua didn't the prying eyes of the public in their affairs.

So they agreed that the matter would only stay within the two families for the time being until they announced it.

When Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei got to the hospital, they still had about twenty more minutes before the appointment time.

Because of Liu Longwei's impatience, they arrived at the hospital much earlier.

They parked at the hospital's underground parking lot to wait.

"Do you want to eat something while we want for the time?". Liu Longwei asked Chen Lihua as he squeezed her palm gently.

"No thank you, I'm fine." Chen Lihua replied in a half-smile.

"Are you sure about that, because you didn't have much for breakfast this morning?". Liu Longwei asked worriedly.

He monitored her carefully during breakfast, and so that she ate so little. He knew that she didn't have an appetite, so he didn't bother her.

"I'm probably too nervous to want to eat something. Don't worry, I will be fine. I will eat when we get home."

"Alright. Do you have any special orders for the chefs, anything you feel like eating?". Liu Longwei asked.

He has more responsibilities now his wife was pregnant. He had got to take good care of her since she only had him to rely on, as they were living alone.

"I don't have any cravings for now. They can go ahead and follow the menu. When I have any cravings, I will inform them." Chen Lihua replied with a smile.

"Okay. Almost time, let us go." Liu Longwei said after he glanced at his wristwatch.

The bodyguard helped to open the car doors for them. Then Liu Longwei hurriedly walked to his wife's side, to take her hand.

As they walked into the hospital from the underground parking lot, four bodyguards, immediately followed behind them.

Chen Lihua glanced behind her and saw the formidable formation and sighed.

This was what being married to a public figure, felt like.

"You don't have to worry about them, they are doing their job." Liu Longwei said to her.

He could very much tell what was going on in her mind.

When they got inside the hospital, the obstetrician who came to Liu's house the day before, came personally to show take them to her office.

When she saw Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei, she greeted them respectfully as a smile turned up on her face.

"Mrs. Liu, how are you?." The doctor asked.

"I'm fine, thank you." Chen Lihua replied, but Liu Longwei added, "she has not eaten anything since morning, she just managed to take nothing more than five tablespoons of food."

"That is not a problem Mr. Liu it is perfectly normal for her not to have appetites a few times during her pregnancy." The doctor replied as she opened the door to her office and led them inside.

"Mr. Liu, Mrs. Liu, please take a seat." The said as she gestured.

The doctor took a seat as well and said to them with a smile.

"I will be doing a few checkups and tests on you, Mrs. Liu, then after that, we can talk about a lot of things."

"Alright." Chen Lihua replied.

"From the calculation you gave me on the last day of your period, you are seven weeks and three days pregnant, which means that you get to hear the sound of your baby's heartbeats." The doctor told them excitedly.

Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei glanced at each other with smiles on their faces, before looking back at the doctor.

"You said I would be doing a series of tests, what kind of tests are they, and what are the tests for?". Chen Lihua asked.

"Yes, you would be doing a series of tests to check on your health and the fetus to ensure that you both are safe, and the pregnancy can be continued during the first trimester and other trimesters to follow. For today, you will do what we call First-trimester screening which includes the blood test and ultrasound (It helps to determine whether the fetus is at risk for a chromosomal abnormality (such as Down syndrome) or birth defects (such as heart problems. Ultrasound: This safe and painless test uses sound waves to make images that show the baby's shape and position. It can be done early in the first trimester to date the pregnancy or during weeks 11–14 as part of the first-trimester screening. Women with high-risk pregnancies might have multiple ultrasounds during their first trimester).

Then the doctor went ahead to explain the blood test to her, and other tests she would be doing in her first trimester.

The blood test could be done to check a lot of things like blood type and Rh factor (If your blood is Rh-negative and your partners are Rh-positive, you may develop antibodies that prove dangerous to your fetus. This can be prevented through an injection given around the 28th week of pregnancy), anemia (a low red blood cell count), immunity to German measles (rubella) and chickenpox (varicella), cystic fibrosis, and spinal muscular atrophy.
