"What are you talking about, no one will fire you. What are you actually worried about?" Liu Longwei asked, looking serious.

Chen Lihua sighed. "Am just not ready to have children yet. We haven't talked about it and planned for them, so I can't get pregnant yet. And I also need to set my mind and get ready for it."

Not hearing anything from her husband but the sound of his breath, Chen Lihua became worried and thought he was angry, so she asked.

"Why are you not saying anything?"

"You have a point in what you just said. We have no knowledge about childbearing and training, and we need it," Liu Longwei replied thoughtfully.

"That's right," Chen Lihua said.

"So how long will it take you to be prepared?" Liu Longwei inquired.

"A year at least," Chen Lihua answered after much thought.

"Okay, that's fine by me. I will get books on childbearing and training so that we can have a better understanding of that aspect before we have our own children," Liu Longwei said after careful consideration.

"Okay, thank you so much," Chen Lihua said gratefully.

"You can sleep now. Don't bother trying to take any pill, because I won't accept it. It may be harmful to your body. If you get pregnant, we will both take responsibility for it," Liu Longwei said.

"But....but," Chen Lihua managed to say before Liu Longwei cut her words off.

"Lihua it's late, go to sleep, you have to be in the hospital early tomorrow morning," Liu Longwei said, shutting her up.

Chen Lihua didn't go to sleep immediately; instead, she stayed awake for some time, contemplating the matter.

But she decided to listen to her husband because he always gave in to her. At least, she had to accord him some respect and listen to his opinion as well.

It's not like she would lose out if she became pregnant. But for now, she just hoped that she wouldn't conceive, because she wasn't ready for it.

Aunt Lin's ex has been contemplating on how to bring up the divorce topic without hurting his mother's feelings for days now, but he just didn't know how to do it.

But when he saw Aunt Lin's pictures and short video clips on social media with their daughter, it dawned on him to step up and do something.

So on this day, he brought up the divorce with his wife and mother.

"What did you say?!" His mother asked with a shocked look while exchanging glances with her daughter-in-law.

"Mum, I know this is hard for you, but I have made up my mind to divorce her."

"What has possessed you? I will never allow you to get a divorce," His mother insisted, while his wife had a frightened look on her face.

"Mother actually, I wasn't seeking your permission or opinion. I only felt the need to let you know about it because you forced me to get married to her," He said while pointing at his wife.

"Honey, what have I done wrong, why do you want to divorce me?" His wife asked in tears.

"My dear, don't worry, he will not divorce you. He is just joking around. Even if he is serious, I will never allow it, so you don't have to worry, wipe your tears," His mother said while consoling her daughter-in-law.

"If you want to keep crying, that's your problem, but we are definitely getting a divorce next week. And mother, the earlier you have this in mind, the better for the two of you," He said as he made a move to stand up, without sparing the two women another glance.

"Honey you can't do this to me, I don't want to a divorce, I will not sign the divorce papers. I can't live without you. What about our children? No... No, I won't accept a divorce. Tell me, why you want to divorce me now, is it because of that woman?" His wife said as she knelt on the floor and clung to his leg.

"Which woman are you talking about?" His mother asked while rising to her feet in anger.

"Do not honey me. I never accepted you as my wife since day one and up to this point, and I will never see you as one, so cut the crap! And please take note that I am not divorcing you because of anyone. This is something I should have done a long time ago. Now take your hands off my legs!" He roared his last sentence in anger.

"No, I won't let you go, even if you kill me! Am sure that woman has poisoned your mind against me," The woman said as she cried harder.

"I think you really want to die!" He said in a loud voice while glaring at her.

"What woman are you two talking about?" The old lady asked.

"Mother, remember that his first love, I saw the two of them in a restaurant some weeks ago, and the woman even threatened to make him divorce me if she wanted. Now hearing him bring up a divorce, am sure that woman must have forced him to do it," His wife cried out to his mother in agony.

"What! Tell me this is a joke," The old lady said while glaring at her son, and seeking for answers.

"You are free to think and believe whatever pleases you," He answered without care while trying to free his leg from his wife's grasp.

"So you actually met with that wench? Have you seen how evil she is, she wants to break up a perfectly made home! She wants to snatch another woman's husband and my grandchildren's father! I do not accept it and will not allow this to happen!" His mother said on top of her voice with her hands on her waist.

"Oh mother, you now call her a wench. You now call her a husband snatcher. Have you forgotten that she was my fiancée and was carrying my child when you drove her out of the house, and then you brought in another woman to replace her? So tell me, who is the husband snatcher and the home breaker here?!" He asked angrily.

His wife, who still had a firm grip on his leg shivered from his loud voice, while his mother took few steps back in shock.

They would be fools and deemed foolish if they couldn't even detect the extreme anger in his voice.
