After he came home that day, he met his crying wife and his angry mother.

From their looks and actions, he could tell that his wife had already complained about him to his mother. And that was what caused her displeasure. He didn't need to be told for him to know, he could see it all on their faces.

His mother kept asking him questions about how true what his wife said to her that he wanted a divorce.

He didn't even deny it. He said he was tired of the relationship, and that he has never loved his wife.

"Mother, you know too well whom I love. This relationship cannot go any further. I have always listened to you throughout my life, and I've done things only for your sake. But this time I need to live for myself."

These were the exact words he said to his mother, No removal, or addition of extra words.

His mother almost went crazy when she heard it.

"So you really met that bitch from your past?! You must behave been bewitched by her. She has gotten her claws on you. Son, let me tell you, you can never divorce your wife in this life unless you want me dead! You hear!"

"Then get ready to die!" The man spat angrily before walking away.

He went into his bedroom to pick a few of his essential belongings before leaving the house that night.

He didn't even bother to set his eyes on his children before leaving because he was too angry to think straight.

So for the past few days, he has been living in a hotel to avoid his wife and mother.

Then as for his workplace, he gave an order for them not to permit his mother or wife to come into his office.

Then excuses like, 'He is very busy', 'He is in an important meeting', 'He went to meet a VIP client', or 'He is not in the office' were occasionally used when either his mother or wife came looking for him.

With this careful arrangements, his wife and mother have not been able to contact him. He didn't even pick their calls.

The only calls he picked from his family, was the calls from his father and his two children.

There was a time he picked his daughter's call and heard his wife's voice, so he immediately terminated the call.

So now, here he was at the Chen family's villa, enjoying himself and mingling with distinguished guests with high caliber.

And most importantly, he could see the woman he loved so much, and the daughter's beautiful daughter that had together.

Chen Lin didn't invite him to the party because of the feelings she had for him, but just because she didn't see it as anything. She also wanted to draw his heart away from his wife.

The more he saw her (Chen Lin) and their daughter, and the more he was away from his family, which made him more determined to divorce his wife.

There were lots of activities to keep him entertained, in the face, he was very satisfied.

The more he was happy in the Chen Villa, the more the thought for the divorce with his wife grew, and the more hatred he had for her.

Just take a good look at him now. See how he was treated like a respectable guest. His needs were well taken care of.

And to crown it all, the woman he had at heart was from a reputable and wealthy family.

Her family was five times better than his wife's family in terms of everything.

Thinking back to his past, his face was full of regret. He would have insisted on marrying Chen Lin. But no, he foolishly listened to his mother because she threatened him with her life.

And this has caused him to miss out on a lot of opportunities that would have benefited him.

Chen Lin's ex was neither with her because of money nor status. He loved her genuinely.

He was now only recounting the so many benefits of being with her.

Had it been he married her that time, he would have had peace, more business opportunities, and rest of mind of marrying his beloved.

Even the money in his accounts and pockets would have long multiplied.

And besides, his beloved was a hardworking woman.

And with the opportunities he will get from being with her, his pockets will never run dry. Instead, his money will continue to increase.

Being with his current wife has been Hell-like. She wasn't hardworking at all.

All she did was sit at home and wait for his money. Even her family members ask him for money and help from time to time, he has never for one day benefitted from their relationship.

But luckily for him, he still has another chance to redeem himself, for him to be with Chen Lin peacefully.

Coming out of those negative thoughts, he immediately felt better when his eyes fell on Chen Lin, who was walking towards him with a younger lady beside her.

A smile immediately crept up his face as he recognized the younger lady at first glance.

She was his daughter.

Chen Lin brought her daughter, so she could interact with her father.

Chen Lin's daughter didn't grow up with her father, and so is not too familiar with him apart from seeing him on one or two occasions.

While speaking with her father, she remained polite and distant.

She was already an adult, and so she didn't necessarily need a father figure in her life.

To cut the story short, he wasn't that important to her.

As for Chen K, he was absent. He didn't dare to appear because he reached an agreement with his father.

And besides, if he appeared here, the news would cause a big sensation to the world. And then when his daughter finds out, it would have been better he remained dead to her!
