Lady Chen who had been watching them for a while now, suddenly let out a hearty laugh when she saw her daughter's distress.

"Did you two come to see me, or to flirt in my house?" Lady Chen asked as she approached them with a carefree smile.

"Mum!" Chen Lihua called out to her once she saw her approach them.

"What?" Lady Chen asked with a teasing gaze.

"Good evening mum", Liu Longwei greeted Lady Chen in a composed smile.

"Good evening son-in-law", Lady Chen responded as she sat on the couch.

"Mum, how long have you been standing there?" Chen Lihua asked with a doubtful expression written all over her face.

Lady Chen flipped her permed hair and with a gorgeous smile, she revealed, "Well, I've been standing there since you fed your husband the grapefruit".

Chen Lihua had a look of shock on her face as she felt incredibly embarrassed. She couldn't believe that her mother saw them flirting.

"Mum it's wrong to eavesdrop on people's conversations". Chen Lihua said with an embarrassed frown.

Liu Longwei chuckled softly at his wife's facial expression, as she tried to hide her embarrassment with a frown.

He disguised his chuckle with a cough when his wife sent a glare across his way.

The glare seemed to say, 'it's all your fault and you dare to laugh!'

Lady Chen saw them exchange glances and said in a tone as if she was berating her daughter.

"Why are you glaring at your husband? This is my house, so I don't think am now restricted to some places. And besides, I found what you two were doing fun".

Chen Lihua rolled her eyes and muttered in a low voice, "What fun? You just watched your daughter being short-changed, and you're telling me that you were having fun?"

Lady Chen and Liu Longwei gave each other a look before bursting into laughter.

Chen Lihua just sat there with a baffled look on her face and watched them laugh at her while wondering which fraction of her words they found funny, that made them erupt in laughter.

Lady Chen felt settled within her as she hasn't felt so happy and pleased these past few days after her daughter's traditional wedding.

Bringing herself out from those thoughts, she asked them, "How have you two been these few days?"

"We are good". Liu Longwei answered and began to talk about him and Chen Lihua moving houses in a few days' time, just before their white wedding.

"That's good! Congratulations! You two have to invite me over if there will be a housewarming party", Lady Chen said with a smile while crossing her legs.

"No problem mum, we will definitely do that". Liu Longwei replied.

"Mum, have you been well these days?" Chen Lihua said. She couldn't help asking because she found it strange that her mother hadn't contacted her for three whole days after her traditional wedding.

At first, she didn't care. But then, she felt that it wasn't like her mother not to call to question her or know how she was doing, thus she asked that question.

If not for her experience and years in acting, Lady Chen's smile would have long faltered with that question.

She still maintained the smile on her face and her composure as she answered, "Am good. I just had a meeting at the company this morning. Why do you ask?"

Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei who had high IQ's couldn't see any difference in Lady Chen's change in body language. This is probably because they didn't think anything wrong would happen to her.

Chen Lihua shook her head in a negative affirmation saying, "A caring daughter just wanted to know how her mother was thriving", before she took a bite from the green apple 🍏 she had picked up.

How could Chen Lihua tell her that the reason she asked that question was that she didn't call to disturb her after the wedding?

She must have lost her mind if she dared to tell her mother those words. Only God knows how Lady Chen will react.

Chen Lihua shook her head to wipe out the smug and arrogant expression she just imagined her mother had on her face.

Then she looked around to see that she was currently being stared at by her husband and mother, and so she took another bite from the Apple.

"Mother these are the gifts we bought for you. We hope you will like them". Liu Longwei said pointing at the gifts the servants dropped in the living room.

"Of course I like anything you give to me". Lady Chen said with a smile as she called for the servants to send the gift items to her bedroom.

Then she talked with Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei on how their white wedding preparations were coming along.

"If there's anything you two need help with, you can contact me or Biyu. We would be happy to be of help to you two". Lady Chen said in conclusion.

"Mum, you don't have to worry, we would definitely ask for your help and advice if we need one. We are almost done with everything". Liu Longwei said with a smile.

"Good!" Lady Chen said.

She looked at the big and impressive wall-clock hung on the wall and saw that it was time to have dinner, so she asked the servants to serve their food.

Lady Chen suddenly thought about the documents she gave Chen Lihua to sign and was about to panic, but then calmed down since Chen Lihua didn't ask about it, which meant that she didn't remember and hasn't looked at it because she sent the documents to her the day after her traditional wedding.

Lady Chen stood from the couch and said to them with a smile. "Let me check on the food and see if I can add one or two dishes".

Liu Longwei nodded at her with a smile and she went away.

Liu Longwei stared at his wife that was munching away on her apple without looking at him or caring about him.

So, he started disturbing her. "Lihua, I want some grapefruits".

Chen Lihua swallowed the apple in her mouth down her throat. She looked at him, and then looked at the fruit plate that was on the little stool in front of her.

She pushed the stool to his side so he could pick the grapefruits for himself while thinking that his hand couldn't reach it.

Liu Longwei saw her action and sighed. Then he threw out two simple words, "Feed me".
