"That's right, some of your uncles, aunts, and cousins are here already". Lady Chen said as she pulled her daughter in.

Lady Chen smiled happily as😄😄she remembered something and added, "After greeting them, then I will show you the betrothal gifts the Liu family sent for you".

As Chen Lihua entered the living room with her mother, she folded her sunglasses and put it in her little handbag👜.

In the Living room, Chen Lihua was greeted and hugged by her aunts, uncles, and cousins.

They were all happy to see her and congratulated her on her marriage.

It's been years since she last saw some of them, so she was kind of a bit awkward when chatting with them.

Her cousins included three females and two males.

One of the girls is in her final year in college. One just graduated from college and already got into the company last month. While the older one is already working in the Chen Company.

As for her male cousins, one was a lawyer, while the other one was still a young guy in Junior High School.

The junior guy is Lady Chen's nephew. He is the son of her older brother.

Lady Chen's brother and sister in law had a hard time for years before conceiving him, so he is a little spoilt.

At present, three of Chen Lihua's uncles were present with their wives. Two from her father's side, and one from her mother's side. Then her father's only sister was there as well.

Lady Chen looked at her wristwatch to check the time before saying with a smile, "Bingbing (Her elder sister whom Chen Lihua stayed within the USA for a while) should be here with her family before we leave, their plane should be about to land. As for mother and father (Her in-laws), they should be here any minute from now.

Chen Lihua spoke to the young boy, "How are you?"

The junior boy looks at her with an arrogant look before speaking in English, "Are you the one getting married?"

Chen Lihua put on a smile and conversed with him in English, "Well yeah".

"Oh". The junior guy said before keeping quiet and looking away.

"What's your name?" Chen Lihua asked.

"I think we don't know each other too well to keep the conversation going. But since I kind of like you, then you are deemed worthy by me to know your name. My name is Guo Kang, but you are permitted to call me Kang". Guo Kang said as he leaned into his seat, leaving his feet hanging.

Chen Lihua was speechless for a while at the boy's arrogance. But she still smiled.

"Nice to meet you, Kang".

The little guy nodded and said in French "Nice to meet you too Sister Lihua".

Chen Lihua felt that the boy's arrogance had reached a new level. So she just smiled before moving her face away.

As she conversed with her other cousins, she felt they were all over her. But that was because she hasn't been close with them for a while, so she felt a little uncomfortable.

And she wasn't one to converse with people she wasn't close to or knew well enough.

Just then, an old couple came in, and they were Chen Lihua's grandparents.

Everyone stood up to greet them.

To tell you the truth, Chen Lihua didn't feel anything when she saw them. But she just remained polite.

She hugged them and asked about their health, and that was all.

But her grandparents were happy to see her and pulled her to sit with them. So they started bombarding her with questions as it's been years since they last set their old eyes on her.

Chen Lihua was really fed up with their questions, and so she signaled her mother to save her, and so she did.

But just before leaving, her father's sister Aunt Lin swirled the wine 🍾 in her cup as she put on a slight smile, "Lihua what do you think, or should I say, how will you feel if you were to see your father again?".

Chen Lihua and Lady Chen's footsteps froze.

Not only that, but it also seemed like time just stopped for everyone in that room.

Everyone there knew that Chen Lihua hated her father the most. So for Aunt Lin to ask that question, she must be looking for trouble.

When she saw how everyone was quiet, she then laughed sarcastically, "I was just joking".

Chen Lihua turned to look at her Aunt. But as she tried walking forward, Lady Chen grabbed her hand to stop her, afraid she would cause trouble.

But not to worry, if Chen Lihua couldn't move with her legs, her mouth was still there.

So with a slight smile, she said, "Aunty Lin I didn't find your joke funny at all. Everyone here knows that I hate my father the most. So by mentioning him on this happy occasion, are you trying to ruin the atmosphere and get me angry. If that is your plan, be careful I don't ruin your smile in the process".

As she turned to leave, she said, "After my dead father, you're the next in line".

And with that sentence, she walked away.

What Chen Lihua meant by that sentence is, Aunt Lin was next in line amongst the people she hated, with her father being the first.

Aunt Lin's smile could not be seen anymore, she was angry 😠😠.

"Sister Lin I think you should hold your tongue for today". Lady Chen said before chasing after Chen Lihua who had gone up the stairs.

After the mother and daughter pair left, the old man hit his walking stick on the floor in anger before looking at his daughter, "Chen Lin! You have gone too far!"

The old Lady said as well, "What is wrong with you Lin?"

But the person they were all angry with, and questioning was already fuming mad 👿👿 by now.

She couldn't believe what just happened.

'Did that girl just threaten me now? She must have grown wings'.
